The Mayflower

The Mayflower is in a wonderful location. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We ate their on the first night of our stay and due to the popularity of the Mayflower we had to wait a while for our meal, but when it arrived it was excellent! We were given a large at the front of the hotel/pub and were not disturbed by people leaving when the pub closed. The room had everything you needed and more. Breakfast was very good and gave many options.

There were a few cobwebs in the room and some damp in the bathroom on the blind but it’s an old building so these things happen. We live in an old house so we were used to it.

A very interesting building that was comfortable with good decoration. The bedroom also had very interesting decor with a large and effective bathroom, shower was great. The staff, without exception, were friendly, cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, good varied menu and well cooked and presented. Location is fine as only a short (15min) walk into town, cannot comment further as we only had one day to explore. Very large car park which is great!

Basically it was overpriced. Although very pleasant & comfortable one would expect a higher standard of accommodation than that supplied. Bedroom was ok & attractive but a little cramped and tired. Dinner menu was ok and the meal tasty and well cooked - however much too expensive. Wine prices were very, very overpriced - strange really as bar prices were reasonable.

The room and bed, bathroom was nice. The full English breakfast was good Some staff were lovely.

Shower was blocked so didn't drain and although we told them about the problem nothing happened The horrific green light in the room all night long. Completely unnecessary, ruined my sleep. Coffee was awful both in the room and with breakfast. Also food not as advertised, sourdough was in fact bog standard white bread. Orange juice watered down. Nothing local as far as we could tell.

The staff could not have been more helpful. Perfect location for the marina and nice and quiet. The room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable.

It would have been good to have yoghurt to go with the granola for breakfast. I also fed back to the staff that the fan provided in the room was broken and the shower head needed some attention. They took this on board and I could hear they were getting someone to look at these things straight away

Room was lovely and very clean with a great view down to the boats. The location is amazing and a lovely walk to town but also right on the coast for walking part of the Solent Way walk. The dinner was lovely although the best bit food wise was the amazing breakfasts, absolutely delicious and great coffee too!!

The only thing we thought would be great was if there were some board games or something in the pub as it was quite quiet on the Saturday when we were there so this would have been nice.

The location was perfect with free parking. Short walk to town or to the Marshes. The bedding was lovely and beds super comfortable. Everything was clean. Lots of quality products in the bathroom. Bottle of water, Cafetière and every type of tea and some lovely homemade biscuits were a welcome treat. Staff great and courteous. Good breakfast so basically wonderful value.

For what we paid it was really excellent so nothing really.

Ideally located next to marina, ready for early start to go sailing. Fabulous room, comfortable bed, great shower, and I loved having nespresso coffee when I got up. Fresh milk deliveed early was an added bonus. View from room over pub garden to river, lots of boats. And no nearby neighbours as our room was at end of corridor. While partner went sailing I stayed and enjoyed excellent breakfast. Staff throughout were friendly and helpful.

We had some miscommunication before arriving about whether breakfast was available. It was, and it was very good.

We loved the cosy feel of our accommodation booked over 30th and 31st Dec. The pub/bar area was inviting and cosy too, especially with the open log fire. We spent both evenings dining at the restaurant, We purposely booked the Mayflower so we could bring our well behaved cocker spaniel with us. We all loved the experience. The evening meals, were of a high standard. Also breakfast offered a great menu selection. We have stayed at many hotels with a high expectation of standard, the Mayflower exceeded themselves. What made it even more perfect, the staff were really helpful, efficient andf friendly too. What more can I say. I would highly recommend staying. We will be back. Also wanted to add, walking a short distance into Lymington was a pleasureable walk, with some lovely pubs closeby.

Location was fantastic, food was excellent. Lovely big room with a great view and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

Parts of the room could do with a little maintenance. Bathroom ceiling needs re decorating as well as a little more attention to cleaning. Minor things such as a few stains on the wall by the bin, dust behind tv.

Nearly everything! The staff were so personable, the food was fantastic, and nearly everything about the room was great!

As my mother has slight mobility issues due to knee and hip problems, and there wasn't an accessible room, we chose the ground floor one. unfortunately she wasn't able to have a proper wash for the duration of her stay - a bath with a shower over hasn't been an issue before but this had a fixed screen and no handrails. Even as an active 38 year old with no mobility issues I found it difficult to use. Could be easily resolved with either a moving shower screen or a rail on the bathroom wall!
