The owners were very pleasant and helpful. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Good quality bed and bed linen.

I was irritated to find that there was an extra charge for breakfast because we had booked with booking.com. £10 per person per day is an unpleasant surprise and certainly adds to the cost.

Having stayed in many hotels and Airbnb, Apple Tree exceeded expectations for value for money. There are many little extras included - shower and shampoo toiletries, soft towels, a generous supply of hand and body lotion and a choice of firm or soft pillows, often a challenge even in upmarket hotels. On-demand heating and room service if you need it.

I am reluctant to criticise anything, but would like to offer a suggestion. A shelf in the en-suite would be greatly appreciated, in order to put your toothbrush and paste somewhere other than balancing them on the loo!

The room was airy, there was plenty of storage space, the bed was comfortable and it was nice to be served breakfast in our room - we would definitely stay there again

Only comment (not necessarily a reflection on the property) is that when I book a B&B, I expect breakfast to be included in the cost. However, when we filled out the breakfast sheet, we saw that guests who booked through Booking.com had to pay £10 each for breakfast

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Andy and his family and he whisked us off to our room taking up all of our luggage in one fall swoop. When we arrived at our room in the top floor we were floored at how lovely and spacious it was. The TV was huge, the bed was comfy, and the room was large. We loved our stay here. We had breakfast every morning and Andy brought it to us exactly on the minute that we asked for it. The place was also a five minute walk to the historic town centre and a stones throw by car to Dartmoor. We’d recommend this property and stay here again in a second!

The bed was incredibly comfortable. I had the best couple of nights sleep I’d had in a long time. I was impressed with the layout of the en-suite bathroom in the single room. A very clever and well thought out use of a small space. The property is well located with a very short walk to the local park and riverside walk as well as the centre of town. Wi-Fi is excellent, and Netflix a bonus.

Beautiful home and my room and the bathroom was very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Appletree. The Continental breakfast was superb. I highly recommend this place to stay in and will definitely be returning in the future

Beautifully presented and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable bed. Good quality tv with Netflix although placed too high on the wall for comfortable viewing. Really good breakfast with excellent coffee, in fact best breakfast we have had in a hotel/ B&B for a very long time. Convenient parking area. Really well appointed shower room with superb shower. Friendly hosts.

Room 4 has too many twisty stairs which would be fine for most people but should have been made clear on booking. Bathroom not actually en-suite and needing negotiation of two steps - again should have been made clear on booking. Some windows not obscured so room too light at night and although sleep masks are provided, they are not nice to wear.

Beautifully decorated, with a soft bed, amazing rain forest shower. Could watch the TV from the bath in the mirror and TV was large. Great to have a table with two seats and both a kettle and a coffee machine. Very friendly hosts and location is very cabral but hotel is quiet and set back from the road. Fridge in wardrobe so very quiet. Can control heating in your room with lovely sash windows that overlook park.

A pearl in the heart of West Devon. Quietness, cleanliness and utterly magical views of Dartmoor. This is a must for all solo traveller looking for mental and psychological replenishment

Hardly anything. I was in heaven, just so beautiful and amazing. I truly would recommend it to anyone visiting Tavistock and traveling solo like myself

Excellent room with a very comfortable bed. Very convenient for Tavistock centre - an easy walk and Tavistock is well worth a visit.

This is not a complaint - just a cautionary. As a mobility impaired person - the stairs were a bit of a challenge, but the host kindly helped us with our luggage.
