Tiverton Hotel Lounge & Venue formally Best Western

The hotel was in a perfect location for walking into the centre of Tiverton and for travelling further afield. Our room was large with a queen bed, very comfortable and all the usual amenities. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, serve yourself, you could have as little or as much as you wanted. Restaurant open all day with plenty of choice. Ample parking immediately outside the hotel. For a 3 star hotel is was exceptional.

If we had to say there was anything,it would be the exterior, stairways and corridors were a little tired but that certainly didn't impact on our stay.

It was in a great location for us a 10 minute walk from our friends house who we went to visit it’s great they allow dogs as we take ours everywhere with us they make dogs really welcome all staff made a fuss of ours more hotels should do this they would have many more reservations responsible dog owners will respect the hotels

The rooms were dated but well equipped with good TVs, lots of space, and very comfortable beds. Bathrooms in serious need of modernisation, and the carpets were old fashioned - signs of dog hair here and there but that's inevitable in a dog friendly hotel I guess. The restaurant is great - really quick service, some talented chefs working away behind the scenes for sure. Breakfast had loads to choose from, and when something ran out it was quickly restocked.

The hotel shows wear and tear, but you can tell they are gradually trying to update the place where they can. Only being given 1 key per room wasn't ideal, but manageable, and I like that they were electronic key cards that actually worked first try!

The hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking. The rooms were clean with plenty of tea and coffee, even hot chocolate to my sons delight. As a family we had 2 triple rooms. The double beds was large and both beds were very comfortable. The staff were professional and friendly. When we arrived late, they were helpful able to offer good recommendations for eating in the locality. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold options. The location was close to Tiverton with easy access to exploring the local area.

Poor first impression - when we pulled up, we thought we'd made a mistake. The exterior looks dated and tired. The dated impression continued internally in the bar and restaurant as well as the rooms - reminiscent of a 90s wedding reception. Once we got past this it didn't detract from the stay. We'd visit again.

This hotel was in an ideal location for our overnight stop for us as nice and close to M5 with ample parking. There was no surprise with decor or ambiance as the photos were accurate and we got what we feel was a nice clean, warm room with good facilities. Our room faced the river so I really liked that and we had nice smelliest with shower gel and hand soap available for us. In our triple room we had a double and a good size single bed with clean good quality linen. Tea and coffee facility in room and in the morning a really nice breakfast with plenty fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads, pastries and of course a yummy fried selection including scrambled or fried egg. In the morning after breakfast we went a walk along the riverside and also visited Tesco for some car munchies that was close to the hotel. All in all we had a nice stay and if we were in this area again we would have another stay.

Very small thing that we arrived at 10pm to check in and thankfully we did as last order for a refreshment at the bar was 10:15pm. (Close call on a Thursday night after a very long drive lol)

Check in was quick and efficient, nice reception. Room was on ground floor, big in size, clean, basic as expected for such a fair price. Coffee and tea were provided with a kettle. As many have said, room was quite dated but good enough for an overnight sleep and shower. Some reviews said the breakfast buffet was not good but my experience was really pleasant. It got plenty of choices, more than full English breakfast, taste was fine, not great but worth the price which was included in room rate. The Asian girl in the breakfast lounge who treated a visual impaired customer with all her kindness, the manager greeted elderly people with warmth and sincerity. Good service!

Better than a year ago. Breakfast good. Room excellent. Whole place had an improved up and running feel; once again accepting that Tiverton is not Mayfair. However - the continued local staff input was more positive and helpful. This is rural Devon, and the generally positive attitude of the staff should be encouraged and recognised (by an informed and imaginative management). The potential is there. The position and convenience could make this hostelry a goldmine for someone. (Loved the three Monkey Puzzles out the back. These are magnificent specimins)

Room management a bit off-the-cuff. My allotted room was a surprise - looked like a bomb site; only because the previous guests had not left (or had had no intention of doing so). These things happen, and I got a better one instead. This is hotel life, in fact I liked the better room: who's complaining - not me.

We have stayed at this hotel before. Although some aspects are a little tired due to use, the standard was still acceptable.

I believe that more rooms should have walking showers as they are safer and use less water.

The rooms are very spacious and on arrival staff were polite and knowledgeable. car parking was ample and close to town and roads to M5. Rooms were clean , even behind the bed. Bathrooms have a bath with over head shower.

The hotel is tired . needs change in mattress and mattress covers . windows need replacing . Bathroom floors very slippery especially with slight wet feet . The breakfast was self serve , even though I was early down , the food was dried out as if it’s been sitting around for a long time . I would not say it is worth the price for it . woke up with spiders in my bed . under the covers . first time that’s ever happened .

The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was fine, I'm gluten free and they had gluten free bread which they kindly toasted for me. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

They asked if you have special requirements and I stated I'm gluten free; it would have been nice if they'd tied up my requirements and offered skimmed milk and gf biscuits in the room. Also there was not much choice gf for the evening meal and no gf cereal / pastries for breakfast or skimmed milk. The cereal plates and cups / saucers were sometimes not quite clean.
