Can't explain how perfect the rooms are and accompanied by such a warm friendly welcome. Kettle and goodies to get you started. Bottles of water and some biscuits/ cookies too. Tissues, glasses, soaps, shampoo, sockets near the bed side table, strong wifi signal, warm rooms, fluffy towels, spotlessly clean. Beautiful garden, lots of parking, ground floor and first floor rooms. Delicious breakfast if you choose to have it. We were breaking our journey from St Ives to Buckinghamshire and Tiverton area worked perfectly. Local pub had an extensive menu and were very welcoming only a 5min drive or 15min walk.

Leaving after only 1 night, would have loved to stay longer and explore this beautiful part of the UK 😄

Locate out in the countryside. Alison me ahead of-time with directions to avoid narrow country roads and also sent these over via email which came in very helpful. Arranged a time of arrival was greeted and checked in easily. Advice was given on local restaurants and places to visit in the area. The room had been reheated and kettle boiled for our arrival. The bed was very comfortable, we both slept very well and had a lovely hot shower too. We stayed in the Annex and therefore had a lovely view of the garden and countryside. We had plenty to choose from in the bedroom regarding hot drinks as well as bottles of water. Breakfast was amazing and left us full all day! Everything was great and couldn't ask for anything more! Look forward to coming back in the near future hopefully.

Nothing, couldn't have asked for a better host!

Brambles guest house is located in beautiful quiet countryside but close to major roads so is the perfect base to explore the area around Taunton, Tiverton and Exeter. The room we stayed in was well furnished, very clean and comfortable Alison has provided an exceptional amount of extras in the room from snacks and refreshments to a torch to use while walking to the local pub. The breakfast was outstanding and I cannot praise this guest house enough 10 / 10

Everything was perfect for us. There was not a thing wrong or anything we did not like. All really great 😊

The owner met us and gave us a very warm welcome. There is good parking and the annexe rooms are accessible 24/7 without disturbing anyone. The room and en suite are small, but warm and comfortable.. There was fresh milk to go with the kettle and drinks in the room, and the TV worked perfectly with a choice of all the usual free-to-air channels.

The sole downside to the room is that the external door is very draughty, but the heating more than copes. The sole downside to the location is that it involves a few miles of driving down single-track country lane, which is great for seclusion and a peaceful night's sleep, but on a dark, rainy night, when the road is coated in red Devon mud from the farm traffic, the drive back there after a night out can be a bit hairy!

This B&B is set in a pleasant rolling hill countryside location, with good pub-food within easy walking distance (a safe enough walk in daylight). My spouse and I both thought that breakfast was a treat, and that the breakfast room was immaculate yet homely. The hostess has a good gardener’s heart, as the garden shows. There are also some good bird-feeders, and plenty of mixed bird life. Our car parked easily at the back.

Though our outhouse billet had a cosy bedroom, the doors (ext. & int.) can rattle in the wind. I guess that a draft excluder would fix the rattle. Hanging a towel or similar over the tops of the doors, can sort that for night times. At night, we did have to watch our step down (bedroom to hall) when pottering to the loo (hall to loo), for there’s a slight danger of stumbling in the dark if one walks in the night.

Good room size, decent bathroom size. Although shower was electric it maintained a constant temperature and had a decent power jet. Nice supply of free biscuits and little snacks, which were refreshed on day 2. Lovely view over the pretty garden out to the rolling hills.

Was disappointed they weren't offering breakfast the weekend we stayed, drove 15 mins to Tiverton to the excellent Elsie May's instead.

9/10, I stayed early April ’22. A character period property, just as expected, but the four-poster was above and beyond to be honest! Very clean, all room facilities were available with en-suite bathroom (and a full-size bath, which I didn’t use but it was tempting after visiting Knightshayes during the day - also highly recommended for NT members), and the breakfast was spot on. My car broke down en-route to Brambles but I was able to use the local Taxi services of Trevor, recommended by Alison, to get me by. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you David & Alison.

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like. This is an excellent B&B!

I like the character and comfort of the place. It was nice and warm. Liked the peace and quiet. Tea / coffee/ snack /biscuits /water all there, great.

Not so much ‘didn’t like’ as ‘would take if given the choice’ - as it’s quite cut off (unless you get back in the car and drive ) the option of a sandwich and drink would be good if arriving at night, or any point I suppose. Maybe even in a v. small mini fridge, sandwich pre-made even, in some kind container/pack. If I knew that kind of option was available I’d pay for it. If you’ve not picked something up you’re kind of stuck. But if I knew I could get a sandwich & a cold coke or a beer or 2 put in a fridge for arrival id prob take that. Self contained that way, very comfy with something fairly substantial to eat. Pub option ok but not always in pub mode, happier to stay in the lovely room.

The property is an annex behind the owners’ home in a small village which is rural enough to be relaxing but close enough to the A361 and M5 for easy access. When I arrived, Allison came out to welcome me. She had switched the hearing and some lamps on, so it was cosy and inviting. There is a lot of good attention to detail by way of provision of items like alarm clock/radio, torch, umbrella, extra blanket and so on, as well as toiletries and, in particular, refreshments: there was an abundant selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. It was very quiet and I slept like a baby!

There was nothing I didn’t like but it would be much nicer in dryer weather!

Very clean and comfortable, nice location, excellent breakfast, welcoming host.

The property was advertised as having Wi-Fi but the band width was insufficient for my purposes (website design), particularly when others were online. Luckily, I could get a mobile signal so could tether to my mobile but had to use up most of my remaining data allowance.
