Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa

The hotel was great, friendly staff in the bar and restaurant. Plenty of choice for breakfast and the dinner was lovely. Very comfortable beds and clean and tidy room with a balcony looking over the golf course. Location great for lovely Woodbridge.

The spa not so great, the pool water was quite cloudy on the day we were there and the sauna looked like it needed a good clean. All needs a bit of a refurb. Booked spa treatments in advance online to make sure we had something as there was not a lot of choice during our stay but was not made aware anywhere about the 10% discount for guests. Spoke to the spa reception who said she’d get back to me but didn’t. Very uncomfortable sofas in the lounge area, they need re-stuffing.

We had breakfast at the hotel - excellent choices and good dining area We ate twice in the evening at the hotel - the food was extremely good and the choice of wines was good too. Very easy for us as we had a small dog with us and we could both have a drink without worrying about driving back to the hotel. The swimming pool facilities were very good - we used those a few times during our short stay All of the staff were very helpful and friendly - very good service - thanks! Great location - we went to a range of places nearby in Suffolk - the beach, small towns and villages, Orford Castle etc none of which were far away to visit.

Room was very big and comfortable

Pool closed early on the Sunday we arrived. Breakfast was very short staffed, they tried their best but couldn't keep up with keeping the breakfast items stocked up so therefore people were going without, they then shut breakfast at dead on 10am with still a huge queue of people waiting and had been for a good half an hour. When asked for food we were told sausages would be 10 minutes, eggs 2 minutes, croissant 10 minutes when there hadn't been any out for a while. Croissant never arrived. There was only 1 coffee and tea machine so huge queue for drinks. Really not good and a shame for what had been a good stay.

Lots of free parking which is a huge bonus. We had a lovely huge room with a balcony overlooking the golf course, my golfing husband was a fan, he used the driving range twice as he was getting used to a new set of golf clubs. I loved sipping wine from the balcony and people watching as this is the first time we've been out and about since the pandemic. We felt safe as all staff were wearing masks even though they didn't have to and they served you the buffet breakfast, as much as you wanted, so not many people touching things. Coffee great, breakfast great, dinner was good but not a huge range of choices, as we were there two nights we covered what we wanted . I had a great spa treatment and I felt safe as the therapist kept her mask on at all times. Rooms are not recleaned when you stay more than one night which I thought was good but we requested extra toilet rolls which was fulfilled.

One tiny negative which is barely worth mentioning, the shower is great pressure etc but the foot room in the bath that the shower is over is tiny so I was feeling a bit unsafe and had to cling on the the hand rail as I didn't want to slip, but it did the job in the end so hardly worth bothering about.

My wife and I have been to Ufford Park on several occasions now and always found the staff and facilities o be amazing. Unfortunately on this stay the thermal spa was out of use dur to a plumbing issue, however they gave us of complementary spa treatments and a free room upgrade to make up for this. There was a pluming issue that meant we couldn't use the sauna, steam room, hot tub or swimming pool, however Deben Leisure centre is only a mile or so away so we used the facilities there instead. The staff at Ufford were very helpful all weekend though.

lovely hotel in great location. The gardens and golf course were immaculate. The health club was lovely. We enjoyed the steam room and sauna but was very disappointed the jacuzzi wasn’t working. the rooms were very clean. The breakfasts were lovely.

The dinner food was very disappointing, there was not a lot of food that we liked. also the menu online that we previously looked at wasn’t the same as what we could have. The swimming pool water was very cold. The £1 that was taken from our account when we arrived was never returned to our account.

The warm welcome, the lady who checked us in, was really great and explained about the facilities they have and how to get there.

We went for breakfast, and no one was in the front. We've seen staff at the back, and they saw us waiting but did not bother to sit us down. So instead, we're the one who approached them and asked how the breakfast works. We went for breakfast at least 45 mins before closing, there were no baked beans, the pot was dried empty, the fried eggs were like rubber, and bacon were hard and chewy. The radiator in the room was making some funny noise throughout the night that disrupted our sleep. On check out, the lady did not even bother to ask how our stay was and just said everything was paid for, and that's it.

Excellent, quiet room very spacious and comfortable bed. Breakfast was pretty ordinary (see below). Setting is beautiful with lovely views behind the hotel over the golf links.

We prefer table service to buffet style so you can request, e.g. crisp bacon or boiled or poached eggs. Very annoying to have to search for cutlery or jam. Tiny plastic containers of very horrible marmalade are VERY bad for the environment not to mention the taste buds! So there could be improvements here. Charging a lot extra for pancakes etc seems mean when this place is not cheap.

Dinner was very nice. The pool, sauna and steam room were clean. The rooms were clean and large for the price paid. They had decent sized bathrooms compared to other hotels that are small and basic. When you check out in the morning, we could still use the facilities during the day before you leave

It was not communicated to us during the booking procedure that the pool was to be closed early due to an issue with the pool lighting. We checked in at 3 (the time specified after cleaning) and the pool closed at 6, so we had very limited time to use the facilities. This meant we had to rearrange our whole evening plan.

All the food was very nice, didn’t seem to be enough wait staff though as they were over busy, the waitress working was super friendly and very efficient. The bedroom was stifling, the only way to get fresh air in was to leave the bacon door open which I was not comfortable to do while I slept. The pool was great, the room was great otherwise, lovely clean bathroom, the spa was great I had two very relaxing treatments, feel very refreshed after my stay.
