Location good Room very clean, comfy bed, heating on when we arrived making room very cosy.

We had evening meal. Was t happy with the bill. We had £25 towards our roast which on the menu was £21. We had one very small piece of Turkey, two small potatoes and veg, they were very busy at lunchtime so I’m guessing there wasn’t much left, so was little disappointed. The way the bill was presented wasn’t good. They put the whole amount on bill asked for 12 1/2 %tip then took our £25off each off which is totally wrong as that would have been giving £16.00 tip on £33. We would have willing left a tip but it did annoy us a little. Maybe a rethink would be good.

Very clean and comfortable room. Very dog friendly. We stayed for three nights and slept very well. Breakfast is very good, though some fresh fruit would be appreciated. We ate dinner in the pub all three nights. Food was good pub grub but a bit heavy for us .. some lighter, fresher options would be great! Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

More varied lighter choice for dinner (more veggies!!!).. everything was quite heavy and rich (though delicious). Fresh fruits for breakfast please. Fridge in room would be a bonus.

Room was not quite as grand as the photos would suggest, but perfectly acceptable. The breakfast menu was varied and cooked by on-site chef. My eggs benedict was spot-on. Would have liked some fruit available, too. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant area was cosy - I felt totally comfortable dining solo. Overall, I would return if in the area again.

There was mechanical work going on outside the rooms, which spoiled the peace a little. However, this was only during daytime hours and, I guess, is unavoidable. The finish of the rooms was not as high quality as the site suggests, but perfectly acceptable.

Very nice welcome at breakfast. Comfortable room and bed, surprisingly quiet as close to main road

An old coaching inn thoughtfully upgraded with a new block of very comfortable and pleasant rooms behind the pub - and therefore shielded from the main road. Clean and a decent size room, cool on a hot day. We ate a very good pub supper, with friendly and conscientious young waiting staff. We had to leave too early for our breakfast and Georgie went to the trouble of making us a packed breakfast. Very kind and much appreciated. Outdoor games to play too - petanque, jenga, table tennis. A really nice place with staff who care about their customers.

A little further from Woodstock than I expected (but only 5 minutes by car) and on the main road but this didn't bother us. The room was quiet with no significant traffic noise. The bathroom door not a great fit, so not much privacy.

The room was very comfortable, clean very small TV. We had evening meal in the bar on one evening good choice of food and drinks. However breakfast on first morning was a bit disappointing, limited choice of cereals, tea and coffee cool and very weak, poached eggs over cooked, second morning breakfast was better but staff attitude a bit brusque, tea and coffee better but no top ups offered, eggs cooked better with runny yolks!

Small TV, breakfast needed to improve.

Really fantastic food, room, bed, staff and location. Supper was so good we came back two days later for Sunday lunch. Very reasonably priced. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and our room was just what we needed. Location was also spot on for us, easy to find and close to our route for an overnight stopover on our way south. Perfect
