The breakfast was the highlight for us, not only was the food delicious, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - including putting extra chocolate pastries in the oven for us to take away! The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and we had the bonus of staying in the actual room that Queen Elizabeth II took refuge in during a blizzard which was quite cool. The shower was also very good!

Very minor, but we could have done with something to hang our 'Do not disturb' sign on our door. Would have been nice if the bar was open a bit longer so we could have a drink after coming back from dinner, but nothing major. Nothing else I can think of that we didn't like!

Restaurant open all day. Very good breakfast. Lovely, helpful lady on duty at breakfast. Have stayed several times before.

Couldn’t have a mini desert with a hot chocolate even though it was the same price as a cappuccino which was allowed and it wasn’t listed in those you couldn’t have. Lady was very brusque in the bar, and for booking in. Shame. Other staff were very pleasant. Bathroom door was very stiff and it was quite dark in the bathroom in room 3.

traditional. quirky. every room was different. rooms were amazing. perfectly placed for where we were visiting.

checked in by the GM. couldn’t sum up a smile, very abrupt manner, argued with me how many rooms I had booked. not at all welcoming. made us feel as though she could not care less if we stayed or not. breakfast the next morning was a bit of a catastrophe! every single table sent food back, ours included, because the food was cold, then looked as though it had been thrown in the microwave to heat up! we had to wait 45 mins for the pleasure of disgusting food too. there were only 12 diners in the restaurant when we sat down. it was not as though they were overrun either. the GM was ‘helping’ out again. sadly she was no help the the lovely lady who was serving us, who had to deal with every single complaint.

Breakfast. Attitude of person diabolical manners minus 10.. Question on arrival in breakfast room Did you book. Ans No sorry we didn't. Reply Well you you need to pay.Well spoken man. Coffee cold and jug nearly empty no offer of fresh after asking. Breakfast baon tasted of fish. Egg Rock hard no bread for toast. Total waste of £20.Not worth saying anything because he had no intentions of listening. Payed cash . His comment was not used to cash. Mine back was I only deal in cash since I took up robbing banks instead of ppl at breakfast. Rest my case

This hotel was just how we expected it on sight from your website. The staff were friendly, especially the man on reception when we arrived who was also very helpful and informative. We would come back to stay here if we were in the area.

A new toaster is needed in the dining room. We only had apple juice offered at breakfast which was disappointing as I only drink orange juice.....but the cup of tea was perfect! The gentleman in the dining room was not too friendly even when we tried to make conversation. Perhaps a bad morning for him

Everything!!! On arrival there was adequate parking, we were made to feel very welcome and our room exceeded our expectations. We sat in front of an amazing log fire and enjoyed cocktails from the bar while waiting for our food order. Our meal was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff went above and beyond exhausting all options to try to book a taxi for us to travel into Chipping Sodbury. Our room was very comfortable and clean and despite being so close to the road we were not disturbed by road noise. Breakfast on both mornings was served in a splendid dining room and the was a great selection of both continental and cooked breakfast items to choose from. Throughout the building it was warm and very comfortable despite outside temperatures being below zero.

Absolutely nothing!!! You are doing a fantastic job...keep it up!!!

The staff were exceptional, very approachable and friendly and very helpful, Jo was very kind in dealing with my autistic grandson so we could have the best seating available. I was really impressed with all that I came in contact with. Nothing was too much trouble

I was staying in a single dog friendly room for 4 nights and there were no drawers to put my clothes in. Only hangers. Not suitable for undergarments Glass shelf in the bathroom very close to the door opening and I cut and bruised my arm on the corner Real fast could have a few more options Fruits to add to yoghurt Seeds, nuts and dried fruit also Boiled eggs

Room layout. Excellent evening meal. Courteous breakfast staff member, popped my lone order in before a group of 7 and a group of 5. Most kind. All food excellent quality.

Unfortunate occupancy of No 15. I was in 16. Thurs occupant had t.v. blasting away so loud must be right on dividing wall that I could not sleep. Fri occupant snored so loudly all night that once I awoke could not get back to sleep. Upsetting as mum in emergency hospital care so I just wanted to switch off and rest. Suggest reorganise room 15 so room 16 not impacted. Otherwise, great as usual.

The breakfast was great and good value for money with a nice continental selection. The room was big, nice bed, and bath. The location was great, suitably situated between multiple tourist destinations so allowed us to explore the region without expecting a long day of driving.

The meal on the night wasn’t very nice sadly, I had a sea bass and scallop risotto. The portion size was suitable for the price considering there was a good quantity of fish there. However, the risotto tasted like rice pudding and the scallops were cold and raw in the centre which could be a potential health hazard to pregnant women and/or be reported as such (luckily my pregnant fiancé chose not to have this). Understandable in the dinner service rush, though the scallops needed to continue cooking on a low-medium heat after searing. The decoration in the room was slightly out-dated but the make up stand did add a retro vibe to our stay.

A beautiful old coaching inn with lots of character and charm, an ideal place from which to explore the southern Cotswolds and Bath is just 20 minutes drive away. The staff were friendly and very helpful, both breakfast and dinner choices were great. There's a large beer garden with plenty of space to eat or drink outside and parking on site is plentiful, only 2 minutes drive from the M4 motorway. During our stay our bathroom flooded due to plumbing issues, the staff immediately moved us to a new room and dealt with the issue very well.

The wifi is in need of fixing. Connections drop out constantly and is often virtually unusable. Although fans are provided, there is no air conditioning or ventilation other than opening a window, if you have a room on the side of the main road, this can be noisy.
