Grayson Hotel

The property was definitely newer, the elevators were fast. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were decent sized for NY. Our family of four had two full beds which is not the best config but it is VERY hard to find a two bed room with Queens or larger so we just had to deal with that. But there was plenty of room to put our luggage (5 bags) plus still walk around the room. The robes were pretty cool, never seen a robe made out of sweatshirt material before. The staff, while not the polished to perfection staff you see at a more high end hotel, were still delightful and seemed to want to be there which is hard to find these day. They were friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar had INCREDIBLE views and both indoor and outdoor seating looking two different directions North and South. The view of the Empire State Building at night honestly could not be beat!

Whoever designed the bathroom did not take into account the sink faucet, they made the mirror cut out way to big which gave them NO room to put the sink faucet. It was actually challenging to get your hands in under the faucet to wash them. While the views were incredible from the roof top bar the offerings were only tequila based (besides a couple wines and beers), it was weird. wish they had a better bar up there and better snack type foods, people would stay longer and it would appeal to a larger demographic because that views were superb!

The location is great you are in close proximity of the main areas of NYC e.g. Time square, 5th, 6th and 7th ave, Penn Station, Grand Central, Bryant Park, Public Library etc. The hotel is clean and in a safe and quiet area. Very accessible for transportation. Great restaurants in the area.

Rooms are clean and moderen, yet not very spacious. There was no possibility for ironing of clothes in the room. There was a cloths steaming machine which leaked water and therefore not very useful. Breakfast in the hotel is expensive.

The check-in process was easy and efficient. The Staff was friendly and helpful, giving helpful tips about the city. The rooms are small but expected for NYC. However, they were clean and mordern with updated bathrooms. A nice added touch would be to have a small fridge and / or microwave in the room. Breakfast, which was included in our package, was excellent!!! Five stars. The restaurant was never overcrowded, and it was not a generic buffet. Also, both rooftop bars were a nice added touch. The hotel was in walking distance to Times Square, Broadway, and shopping. Will definitely book again when traveling to NYC.

Great boutique hotel! Excellent location, room service, staff and amenities! Love that they are pet friendly. I slept SO WELL on that mattress, but needed my ear plugs (noisy tourists staying next door and I think I heard a constant streaming of plumbing or the elevator). The room was so comfortable and easy to 'be' in. Loved it!

Wish whomever designed the bathroom took into consideration that women need bigger and wider counter space for all our stuff. Wished there was a tub, but the shower had great water pressure and the hot water did not keep you waiting.

Good location for exploring New York but having got our bearings, we gravitated more towards Lower Manhattan so another time, would probably look for something further south. Perfect though for Times Square and 5th Avenue. Rooms are a good size for a big city hotel and the bed was amongst the most comfortable I've ever had. Without exception, the staff were fabulous - it's unfair in a way to pick out Orenzo as everyone was so friendly and helpful, but his welcome every time we came and went was charming and nothing was too much trouble for him - thanks Orenzo (and all your colleagues).

I did get a coffee machine for the room, but a kettle to make tea would have been good. The restaurant menu was interesting, but it didn't have a child's option so we ate out. Only other slight gripe is that the lifts were always busy - only three to serve the hotel so sometimes wait times were longer than you'd like - but otherwise, everything was great.

The hotel was perfectly situated. It was near everything while still being a bit away from the crazy crowds. Plenty of great places to visit near by, specially it was near Bryant Park and Broadway. The hotel was also clean and the room was spotless. In fact, they came and cleaned the room our entire stay and that was wonderful. I have been to many hotels were they are no longer offering that option.

The only complain I have for this hotel was one night we were watching a movie and I think the walls may be really thin because the front desk told us someone called to make a noise complaint. I even offered the front desk representative check the room and see what we were doing and no we weren’t having a party LOL.

The front desk staff was excellent. It did not matter who was on site, everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel decor was beautiful and the restaurant at the hotel has excellent food. The location was also great. Walking distance to the subway, Empire State Building, Grand Central and Times Square. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone that wants a little luxury in Midtown.

Honestly the only issue I had was not getting the WiFi to connect in my hotel room. It seemed to work everywhere else but not my room. However that was such a minor thing it did not detract from my overall stay.

We stayed here 18/05/2023 for 4 nights loved the location - my maiden name is Grayson which is why i booked this hotel- I also arrived on my birthday. the hotel was very clean and staff were lovely would definitely stay again.

Although there were complimentary tea and coffee available in the restaurant this was only available in the morning. It would be better if there were also tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. The rooms were very clean however slightly on the small side. I also thought the additional taxes per night were excessive at nearly $90 per night.

Loved the Grayson hotel. It’s stylish, neat and the lifts are very fast. The rooms are well sized, including the bathrooms. The bar at the roof top has amazing views, the food at the restaurant is really tasty, and we had a generally great time staying there.

They do have coffee machines, kettles and bar fridges, but you have to request them if you need them. Wish they were standard in the rooms, but I’m sure they have their reasons. Apart from that, I will definitely be back!

Excellent location - midtown and convenient to everything, including great subway access. The rooms and hotel spaces were clean and well-cared for. The rooftop bar was a lovely place to grab a drink. The staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. Nice space to sit outside in a courtyard. The morning coffee was fresh and delicious. Would stay here again.

The rooms and bathrooms were small though well-appointed. Would have liked a little more counter/drawer space and hooks to hang towels on.
