Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th St Empire State Bldg

Hotel is great! We had 4 rooms (8 ppl) 1.the staff is the best! very helpful and nice from the check in to check out. staff at breakfast was great too 2.Free breakfast was very appreciable (see also minus point) 3.The housekeeping was very good too : enough towels, room was cleaned everyday in the morning 4.Location is fantastic. 5.wifi worked really well and was fast enough to watch tv online all in all a very good stay

i am very happy with our stay! if I had to find small things to improve : 1.the elevators. only 2 very slow and small elevators for 20 floors 2.breakfast room is small. To find a spot might be a challenge if you don't wake up early

The breakfast was good, lots of variety and the location is perfect! Clean and nice hotel.

The pillows are not comfortable. Only 2 elevators for the entire building is not helpful. I don't like hidden charges, I was charge $50 deposit per night and my sister in law was only charged $50 deposit for her entire stay.

We really enjoyed: - The location - very well situated, especially if you are for the first time in New York and you want to be in the middle of action and get anywhere quite easily. - Decent breakfast - not too many options, yet there was a bit for everyone, I think. - Kind staff and willing to help. - Comfortable beds (although our daily number of steps might have helped that as well...)

What could have been better: - Being a central location, it can be quite noisy; well, it's New York after all, but if you're a light sleeper, it might be a problem; - The shower and water temperature in general was quite off - either super hot, or cold. We managed to get a hang of it eventually, but it was still a bit unpleasant; - The air con system is quite old and noisy; it's a constant hum in the room, even during the night;

Great location, friendly staff, breakfast was ok

The Empire state "view" is a bit of a sham having stayed on floor 10. The expectation is that you open the window and view it directly, not having to "look" for it twisting your neck. If you're not staying on a floor above 16th, ask for a room change as you won't have a "view" otherwise

Location was great. Originally got mixed up with the Hilton directly next door but all was well in the end. Right by k-town, filled with countless bars & restaurants, and just a few blocks from everything else you may need. Breakfast changed every morning which was a nice surprise (yum). Self-serve coffee, tea & hot chocolate were available near the lobby 24/7. Room was clean and cosy overall. My partner noted how friendly the staff were. We would definitely stay again.

There are 2 small-average elevators for the whole building which run a little slow. At meal times it gets even slower with crowds. The building could definitely do with an upgrade to their lift systems. Also, our room seemed to have an issue with the cold faucet turning hot every so often which is a nuisance when you want a quick drink of water during the night. Another slight bother was the squeakiness of the bed. Just sitting on the edge makes some noise so be cautious of any extreme hanky-panky lmao You can feel the springs but it was still a very comfortable nights sleep.

We happen to get the room on the 20 th floor with a view on Empire State Building. the room is nicely furnished, the shower works great, you have a tv, safe, big towels that will be changed upon request. The only downside is the loud work of the heating conditioners.They are old, they work loud. But we tried to switch it off one night and didn’t get cold. So the problem was solved :). BTW this heaters are common for 3 star hotels. This is not the issue only of this hotel. Breakfast is pretty diverse. Tea, coffee and water are available all day long. Subway is around 60 meters from the hotel. big shopping malls, cafes, pharmacy are right across the street. I am sure you will enjoy this hotel same way we did with our husband!

My daughter was on crutches and we didn't want to walk around all day until check in. They were able to get us settled at a good time so that she could get the rest she needed. Great Service!

Just the elevators/ either slow or lack of enough. Twice we waited over 5 minutes for an elevator.

The staff at the front desk is extremely awesome and nice. I arrived 3 hours before checkin and they game the opportunity for early checkin but then I asked if I could get a higher floor and they told me that yes but after 3pm so they said yes to every option that I asked. Breakfast is good, a self service with not limited of nothing and you can take it to your room if you want to. Nice bathroom and room. The location is just amazing to get access to subway and walking around. I moved around Manhattan and Brooklyn with not issues getting the metro 3 blocks to the hotel.

The location is perfect, a few feet from HeraldSquare, Macy’s, restaurants, subway stations and Penn Station. we’ve visited Manhattan many times and this by far is the best location for proximity to transportation around the city.

it really isn’t a dislike but the carpeting in corridors and the inside of the elevator could be refreshed. it looked as if all other areas were updated, so perhaps that is next.
