This affordable hotel is in a great location just off Herald Square.. on 35th St. and Sixth Avenue. The room was fairly spacious. The beds were very comfortable. It was quiet despite being in the heart of Manhattan.

There was no sign with the name of the hotel so it was tricky to find the entrance. The front desk is located in a dark hallway, again with no signage. I was afraid that I was in the wrong place, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's just a weird entrance to a very nice budget-minded hotel.

My review and my rating are related to what I read about the hotel and what the hotel was supposed to offer. I got impressed with the bad reviews, and maybe because I already knew what to expect so I got pleasantly surprised. I didn't have any problems with the hotel, the reception staff were very friendly, the WI-FI is very good and it works up to the 17th floor (where my parents stayed), which was great, as my father needed to work. The hotel was clean, comfortable beds and shower, in addition to the location that was 10.

There really is no TV, but who goes to Manhattan to watch TV? My kids used the Wi-Fi when they wanted, which worked great. They didn't change towels or clean the room all the time, which for me, who stayed 4 days, wasn't a problem, I change towels every week at my house.

This was an amazing location and a great view. They are a new hotel at the time of our stay and had some things to iron out, but I have no doubt they will do just that. The staff were awesome and helpful. Our AC was out and they moved us to another room and provided us with an additional room to accommodate my mom. They loaned us an HDMI cord to stream movies from my laptop. They gave us great advice on transportation and other questions we had about the city. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We had an issue with the AC which was resolved. The entrance is shared with a popular rooftop bar which could be a little awkward at times. No bathtub for my toddler.

I didn’t know what to expect when arriving to this hotel due to previous reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. First of all, location is absolutely perfect and worth everything itself, right beside Macy’s and the Empire State Building, walking distance to Times Square, Central Park etc, also conveniently close to Penn stations and subways. Secondly, the room was perfect. Huge double bed, lovely bathroom with powerful shower, fridge, ice bucket, air conditioning etc, along with a view of the empire state, zero complaints. Bed was made and towels changed everyday which was great too as most European places have stopped doing this daily. Also to add, we had some difficulty with payment through booking.com when reserving this and the hotel were very helpful, responsive and reassuring that everything was okay with the booking. Overall, definitely will recommend this hotel

Previous reviews have correctly noted the dark reception/check in area whilst it slightly takes away from the first impression everything else makes up for it. Another review was not happy to pay for luggage storage after check out so just to flag the cost is $2, can’t really complain about that, a very small price for convenience.

Eight night stay,holiday,clean room,comfy double bed and pull out sofa,TV,fridge,staff very helpful. Nice gym if you need one,vending machines,WiFi,hotel is opposite Macy's,far enough away from Times Square to be away from the noise,great view from the roof top bar,bags were looked after when we checked out and had time to kill at $2 per bag also shower available to freshen up at not extra cost,will stay here again,reasonably priced.

I used to stay here when it was the Courtyard and I loved the staff. I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw some of the same staff working there.

the hotel is still being renovated. Definitely request to be on the higher floors (7 & above) for a better room.

Best location ever! you can walk to tons of places and the subway entrance is also right outside

Luggage storage. You can leave your bags on a hallway but there is not much control over who leaves/takes what. We didn’t have any problems but it just seemed a bit unsafe or “trusting”

The hotel is perfectly located with access to the subway right in front of the entrance. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a hotel.

The staff, specifically the reception, could have been more attentive. We also had to additionally pay to store our luggage for a couple of hours and it wasn't even put away safely. It was just lying around in a hallway next to reception.

Location can not be better - the heart of Manhattan - but be ready for lots of action. Big, spotless, well equipped rooms with big windows. We loved the place. Make sure your booking and payment is done on the same name - we needed to do some extra verification steps as I made a reservation with my husband credit card. It was quite a hassle to clarify.

No kettle in the room and no coffee available either. Apart from that all was great.

Although the property has an average rating, which means a toss up of whether people are being dramatic or if there are hidden issues, my family's stay here was exceptional. First of all, the location was really convenient. The train stop was a minute away from the hotel, which made it nice to travel around the city. Also, the room was clean and decently sized for what you would expect of New York, and I loved the views. Overall, highly recommend staying here. For the price, it exceeded my expectations.

I'm not super picky. It was clean, priced right, and in a good location. You can't ask for more.
