Archer Hotel New York

A great location by 5th Avenue, the Empire State, Times Square and Herald Square (Macy's). We opted for double double rooms, which was a great choice due to huge beds. Great reception staff. Powerful aircon, which was very much needed in a 100f heatwave.

Expensive A La Carte breakfasts - we avoided, we would've been spending over a £100 for 4. We found an amazing diner nearby. It's essentially a very nice sleep/rest base, with bars (strictly enforced aged 21+ only) and an expensive restaurant. No spa. The room cleaner binned a large pile of our receipts/momento's, never to be seen again! Can only think that she found them irritating blowing on the desk in the aircon breeze.

room, layout, bed, pillows. Storage was good. Location was great and we could get everywhere quickly. Room was always cleaned to a great standard adn the treats were nice each day. Staff were really responsive and quick to sort out any questions or issues. Free umbrellas for those rainy days. They also organised a cab for us and stored our luggage. We had to fed-ex some banners after our conference and the hotel staff handled that very efficiently and were incredibly helpful. The rooftop bar was lovely and views amazing. Food was good and wine very nice.

Would have liked somewhere to store cases. Some extra bottled water would have been nice considering we stayed a week

great location. room was comfortable and clean. the roof top bar overlooking the Empire State is fab and the food was delicious.

the air con is quite loud when it comes on which took a night to get used to. also although we were 3 guests, the room was only set up for 2 so we had to ask for extra everything which they did.

Location was central and short walk to most anything in midtown Manhatten. Staff were very professional and friendly. Room and lobby were clean and exactly as the photo. View of Empire State Bldg as advertised. Cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, and feature brick wall. A/C, desk, mini-fridge and coffee maker (pods), hairdryer, in-room safe, wardrobe, large tv, wifi. No on-site fitness room but offered a complimentary pass to nearby gym. Felt safe and secure in the hotel and surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again - recommended. (4th trip to NYC, 1st at Archer Hotel)

Room was a bit tight (King w/ Empire view) but typical of NYC. They did make EXCELLENT use of the space, though The bathroom was spacious and lovely with the bevelled subway tile and marble tile floor.

The location was very good, close to a lot of sightseeing locations by foot and close metro stop. The room was a bit smaller than expected but still very comfortable, great bed and pillows. Nice to have a small fridge available and neat, clean and great bathroom/shower. We had the Empire view which was great from the bed. Also the rooftop bar was great addition to the hotel to enjoy a cocktail with the city view.

AC was a bit noisy for our personal taste. It was difficult to regulate, either to loud or else it got too hot for us. Nonetheless the rest was perfect and we were happy there was AC with the high temperatures in NYC!!

4th time using this hotel, loved the location, room is lovely and clean and staff always friendly, beds also super comfy

rooms are a bit small but as you expect in New York, annoyed that there was an error where they charged me for a bottle of water 2 weeks after I’d returned back to the Uk, lucky I saw it on my bill, I called and they rectified it quickly, however with the exchange rate difference I was returned lesser an amount, it was lucky it was only a small amount, if it had been more I wouldn’t have been very unhappy, we’d already been scuppered by the exchange rate from the time we’d booked it ( over 6 months ago ) to the time we paid the bill, but it’s not the hotel’s fault the exchange rate is weak against the £!

Scott who worked at the front desk was amazing. We arrived late (1 am) and our reservation had been cancelled and we were labeled a no show. The guy working that evening had a difficult time figuring out what to do and we eventually were given a tiny room on a low floor by the elevator not what I requested. The next morning I asked the front desk if we could move and Scott essentially upgraded us to a fantastic room with a view of the Empire State Building. If you stay here, the bigger rooms are definitely worth it!

Wish the restaurant had been open or that they had some sort of breakfast but COVID.

We picked the room for it's central location and it was definitely exactly where we wanted to be. The room was a little on the small side (as a wheelchair accessible room) but perfectly acceptable. We didn't book breakfast with the room but had some when we wanted and it was lovely. The friendliness of the staff was fantastic. Luke, Scott and Jonathan were brilliant.

I'm a Brit so it would have been nice to have a kettle for a morning brew. That said the coffee machine gave us superb expressos! Sometimes the cleaners were late cleaning the room so we would come back from a day out to find they had yet to go in. But not a big deal.

Everything! From moment we arrived and the friendly hotel reception staff were excellent- on check in they wished my friend a happy 50th (belated as was during Covid lockdown - had mentioned in booking) and then we found the hotel had put a couple of birthday balloons and complimentary wine in the room with wonderful view of Empire State Building. The roof top bar also has an incredible view of the Empire State Building, which lit up at night is spectacular. The bar has very stylish decor and again friendly staff. The breakfast food we had was delicious. You can also order food to hotel from delivery services. There are some excellent choices of food places just across the street and we particularly enjoyed the cocktails at Havana bar across the street. The decor and quality of fixtures and fittings in the hotel is up to date and in excellent condition, including our room. But special mention has to go to the beds. I cannot do justice to how comfortable the mattresses were. It actually was one of the highlights of our trip! My friend even had reception staff give her the name of the brand and type! I still think of that mattress fondly!
