Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square

We loved the location, close to Times Square, Penn Station, the Empire State Building and multiple subway stations. They also have a free breakfast buffet every morning. It gets super crowded so go early. I loved the kitchenette! Great if you’re traveling with kids! Barstools with an eating area, microwave, full size fridge and a small drip coffeemaker. I prefer those instead of a pod machine. We bought lots of water bottles that we stored in fridge and several in the freezer so we always took the frozen ones with us everyday and they would thaw out throughout the day so we would have icey cold water later in the day since it was so humid and hot in July! The neighborhood seemed safe. Good pizza deals nearby. The staff was very friendly and the free luggage storage was very convenient (Please tip them btw lol).

The elevators were small, few and far between. If you get on one and it doesn’t light up on button #3 then just keep pushing till it lights up (floor 3 is where the breakfast is btw). They are slow. It is a hotel with 33 floors and only 3 working elevators (mostly 2). Not sure when it was built. It wasn’t much of a problem for us since we rarely get up in time for the free breakfast anywhere and I planned most of our sightseeing things around noon. We are late night people..

Breakfast was great as was the location. Close to Times Square and Broadway and virtually a couple of minutes walk to Bryant Park, 10-15 mins walk to the Empire State Building. Lots of coffee/grocery/food shops nearby.

The biggest problem was using the lifts (elevators). In a big hotel like this at busy times such as breakfast it can take quite a while to find an elevator with an empty space so you have to hang around for quite a while. The room had a sofa bed for the third person, but we were expecting that, its just a shame they couldn't get a single bed in there instead. I don't know if its thing now, but hotels don't seem to have a hotel guide in your room anymore, the folder that that used to tell you about your hotel, it's facilities, policies, things to see nearby etc

Same as other review. But I'll add that the elevators were extremely busy in the morning due to check outs and they offer buffet breakfast. Which was very nice. But sometimes I heard people say they waited 1/2 hour for an elevator. I know I waited about 20 minutes jumped on one that had room and had to go to the 33 floor from the 14 th. Until it could go down to the 3rd which was breakfast. I didn't think about it until the second day that it took forever. I should of got up went to get breakfast took it to the room and warmed it up late and miss the crowd. There was a waiting line to get back on the elevator when you were done also.

Great location, very clean, super comfortable double bed, desk very helpful.

Great location. Breakfast. Small kitchen with fridge, microwave. I like that.

Provide kitchen sponge, a small bottle of washing detergent to handwash cups, Silverware. Too little to use dishwasher. Fire alarm. No announcement until a few minutes. When i inquired later. Was told they announced but that was lie. No announcement of a test. Announced that they were checking why the alarm went off. However the next day they did announce of a fire alarm test. Why would this person lie to us. A family member panickef and i had to calm her down assuring her there was no fire. We were on the 24th floor.

We had a corner room on the top floor with really good views. Having a free breakfast included was one of the reasons we booked this hotel and it didn’t disappoint us. We liked the location and we had no problem finding our way around and loved the proximity to Times Square.

We didn’t really find fault with things and it is expected to have to wait for elevators during the busy times and we never waited long outside those times. We were sur that round pieces of ham were called Canadian Bacon as we Canadians défini don’t call it that our bacon 🥓 is this 🥓.

It took me a lot of time searching for the best accommodation for our party of 3 people but this hotel was the best solution. The corner room is big enough, king size bed and couch were both comfortable. Bathroom was really tiny, but ok. A huge fridge, microwave and coffee machine (perculator) perfectly working and dishwasher and sink clean. No special view from the 9th floor but this was not a problem. Hotel's position is close to Times Square, Empire State building, Bryant Park, grand central station and 5th Ave. Subway just around the corner. Breakfast was plenty of choice but it can be improved with better bacon and peanut butter😁. The breakfast is ok if you go early, but it can be really crowded otherwise. Same story for elevators: peak hours may be a bit annoying with long waiting time. Staff simply great. Thank you!

The location was excellent. 5 min walking distance to Times Square. Right on 39th and 6th Ave by Bryant Park. So lots of options for food too. And for a NY hotel, it was so very spacious. We had a king suite and it had everything we needed. A pull out couch for my daughter. The kitchenette had everything possible. Dishwasher, fridge, microwave, plates, cups, mugs, wine glasses, cutlery, bottle openers, bowls, pots and pans, and anything you need. We have been at other hotels in NYC and they are super tiny and a tight squeeze. Just the bed and hardly space to move around. The staff were super duper nice. So friendly and helpful. This was the BEST hotel we’ve stayed at. We will be returning to this hotel.

During our stay, the elevators kept failing. And considering this a large property sometimes we stood for elevators for up to 20 mins or more. At one point only 2 out of the 4 worked on the weekend and the line up to get elevators was ridiculous. I understand it’s an older building, but that was a little bit inconvenient.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is close to a lot of sightseeing places, like Tumes Square, Rockefeller Center etc. Bryant Park is very close and nice to stay and relax. The view from our room on the 27th floor was great to the Empire State Building.

The breakfast room was a total mess every day. We went there usually one hour before breakfast was over and nobody had cleaned the tables of the earlier guests. Also the other guests left the tables very dirty. If there had been a possibility to leave the dirty dishes maybe it would have looked better. When going or leaving the breakfast it took at least 10 min to catch a free elevator, because also when the elevator was completely full, it stopped at every floor.

Spacious room with kitchenette, comfortable bed, TV that could be swung around and watched from either sofa or bed. Polite staff allowed us to check in early and leave bags after checkout.

The internet wasn't working for nearly the whole of our overnight stay.
