Hilton Garden Inn New York/Midtown Park Avenue

The location is excellent and the rooms are comfortable. The staff was efficient and pleasant.

We stayed five nights and only had room service on the fourth night. We didn't need the sheets changed, but the garbage needed taking out and fresh towels and more coffee was needed. BTW the coffee is not good. Also we had booked two rooms and when they said that the rooms would be on different floors, I didn't mind...until I realized the key to the elevator between floors made life complicated.

Perfect location in Midtown for a tourist who wants to visit Manhattan, because it is in the middle of every attraction (5 min far from Empire). Subway 6 at the corner, to Up and Downtown and to the transfer to JFK (6+E+AirTrain), perfect link to move really fast. Beds really comfortable. The staff is super kind and available for any request. The breakfast menu "a la carte" is delicious and completes the continental one (poor): check which one is included in your booking. Late check-out up to 12 pm.

The Hotel is dated... Furnitures are old, no up to date, but everything is functional and working: no complain.

The service at breakfast. We waited over 15 minutes to be waited on once seated. Buffet was not maintained and not worth what we paid. Eggs cold and we never received the fresh eggs we ordered. Ridiculous that we paid $20 for a bowl of cereal since everything else on the buffet was either cold or gone.

The room was small but well appointed and quiet. The engineer, NESTOR, rescued a valued necklace from the sink drain. He had to think outside the box to locate it in the overflow area of the sink and worked diligently until it was in my hands. Kudos to Nestor!! The Hilton Garden Inn on 33rd St is lucky to have him!!

The breakfast, on the other hand was hit and miss. Food and coffee ran out later in the breakfast schedule and was not replenished.

Beds and pillows were very comfy, we had everything we needed in the room. Location was great. I liked that the coffee maker came with lots of pods, plus real creamer - which a lot of hotels don't do. The staff were really nice and attentive. Also the bath/body products were excellent!! (And I'm very picky) Overall a good, affordable midtown choice - close to Empire State Bldg, Penn Station, Macy's, Grand Central, 5th Avenue, Bryant Park. Everything is walkable.

The bar downstairs was really noisy on their roof deck, two nights in a row - just blasting music and people screaming and partying. It echoed off the buildings across the street. The second night was so bad we called the desk multiple times (as did everyone else), and apparently they had to call the cops. It seems this hotel and the bar next door should have an agreement or a set curfew. But the front desk handled it very well, and eventually it quieted down by 11pm.

Awesome location, right in Midtown Manhattan. Walking distance to many iconic attractions such as the Empire State Building, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, etc. Plus very good connection to public transportation, with a subway stop just around the corner along Park Avenue (line 6's 33rd St). We had a view of the top of the ESB from our room, which was very cool. If you want housekeeping service you have to specially ask for it each time at the front desk. Room size is just fine plus it includes a microwave and electric kettle. Complementary coffee and tea during the morning at the lobby. Area felt safe day and night. And no problem sleeping at night (some occasional emergency siren, impossible to avoid in New York City).

TV was not smart.

The location is great to visit the Southern part of Manhattan. Many tourist attractions are at walking distance, especially the Empire State Building, which is right next block. The hotel is well connected by public transport to reach other areas in the city. The staff at the reception were really friendly. The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. We specially appreciated having our own fridge. There are a few convenience stores located nearby.

There are a few restaurants scattered around the area, but it's not like in other areas of NYC were you have several just in the same block as the hotel. The room was on the smaller side if you plan to use it for 4 people, like we did (2 adults + 2 kids). The beds were small to share with one of the kids, I would think they're too small to be shared with another adult. I believe the hotel didn't have a laundry room, but there are a few available at a walking distance.

Great location near Empire State, at least 2 subway lines near by. Drove into the city and was worried about having a place to pull over to unload from the car but they had a great loading area with no pressure to hurry. Traveled with my 1 year old, brought our own pack and play. King room was small but we were able to fit pack and play and high chair. Great little coffee, fridge, Microwave area where we were able to store food we brought for the baby. Sign in bathroom says they will clean room by request unless stay >4 days, asked for trash to be taken out on day 1 and they ended up doing full room service all days. Would stay again!

Close to subway, on a relatively quiet street. The breakfast staff was amazing! They were so friendly and welcomed us every morning with a smile, felt like family by the end of our trip. The man who helped with our luggage was amazing and super friendly. House keeping folded my kids blankets everyday and my daughter was very excited to come back to the room to find her blanket folded!

Two elevators didn’t work one day and it delayed us in getting breakfast and on our way to where we were going that day.

The room size was good compared to New York standards. The breakfast was excellent with a range of options. You have the option to choose buffet or from Ala Carte menu. The location of the hotel was excellent with close proximity to Subway. There is a parking space right at the entrance of the hotel incase you wish to load or off load your luggage from Taxi or car.

This is not a fancy hotel. Just basic and serve the purpose if you wish to stay within Manhattan. We stayed there for 2 days and i guess the housekeeping service is on demand.
