Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square North

The servers at breakfast were exceptional. One in particular stood out: On my first day, I requested lemon slices for my tea. On the second day when I arrived, he rememberd and brought me lemon without my asking! That is what I call great service and will motivate me to stay at this Hilton Garden Inn again and recommend it to friends. The staff at the front desk were also friendly, yet very professional and helpful. I also loved the modern shower.

The pillows were too soft for my liking, although I know some people prefer soft pillows.

booked stay with free breakfast included. only breakfast available was through room service which was lengthy and cumbersome trying to use 10$ vouchers from the hotel which didn’t cover the cost of breakfast and had to place multiple orders to use multiple vouchers. I was looking for convenience and quick service during stay with kids which was not the case.

Front Desk employees could be more efficient. They have free water in the reception for example, but no one informed me in my check in. I found out only in my last day.... Room service sometimes very late (around 18:00 when I wanted to rest before going out for dinner. For me the worst thing about this acomodation was the bathroom door (glass!). Zero privacy if you are not by yourself

The service was top notch! The location is everything. We walked to shows on Broadway and shopped in Times Square and 5th Avenue. The rooms were really spacious for Manhattan. There is a parking garage 10 feet away with a discount rate for renters at Hilton Garden Inn (but it’s still typical Manhattan parking rates which for us was discounted to $50/night in Jan 2024)). The service was FANTASTIC and prompt to get extra towels or to answer questions. The only thing limited my score from 10 is that there was one elevator working for 21 floors. We walked down the 12 flights of stairs easily, but after shopping with multiple bags, there was no way I was going to walk up 12 flights of stairs. The elevator wait was up to 20 minutes. The front desk staff was very understanding and accommodating as much as they could, but lots of renters would get irate knowing one small elevator was coming and they’d have to wait for multiple just to get to their room. Unbeatably this was out of anyone’s control who was working there, but it would have been a reason to pick another location had we known. Otherwise, it’s a great stay. We rented 2 rooms and it was a deal.

The staff was super friendly and always helpful. Rooms were small, but that's just New York, however they had everything you need and were comfortable.

I was only on the 3rd floor so had a lot of street noise, I think higher floors would be better. Especially by early morning there was a garbage truck which woke me up. Also the heating/ventilation system was attached to the window and even when off during the night, it had a light airflow which cooled down the room a lot. And when turned on for heating it was very loud.

The bathroom toilet was not clean, it looked like the room had been cleaned but not refreshed before someone rented again. Looked like it had sat for a while but everything else was clean. Fridg. could use defrosting but kept things cold.

The door to the bathroom was a frosted-glass sliding door, and it did not offer any privacy.

okay so first of all I’m usually not a stay in a hotel girl. I always book hotels just to store our staff and sleep. I choose this hotel because of its excellent rating in location (I was first time in New York) it was important to me, because I don’t want to be scared at night and be surrounded with homeless people.. the location was literally 4 minutes from time square, safe and relatively quite (keep in mind you will be in New York so don’t expect no noise ) to be perfectly honest I loved the city but I could wait to get into this hotel and just lay down. they are really conches about the pandemic and the rooms where cleaned daily ✨ I am hundred percent satisfied and I can only recommend it! Plus by the third day, they called me by my name what I really appreciated

Check in was super easy and nd the fact that we could leave our luggage in the hotel before check in and after check out so we could enjoy more of the city.

There was only one elevator working at a time during my stay. I was on the 4th floor which was not so bad taking the stairs but worst for others. House keeping let us down the first couple of nights with not enough towels, no shampoo and no conditioner in the bathroom. We had to ask for these items more than once. But I was glad that once management was aware of the hiccups they acted quickly to make up for it and ensure we were taken care of. Koodos to the female manager present (will not disclose her name), really appreciated.

The staff!!!!! They were so helpful, friendly, and proactive in anticipating needs such as booking transport to the airport. They collaborated when answering questions about the location of notary services. The location was ideal to the sights we wanted to see, and they communicated via text promptly and responded accordingly. My wife said, "this is the hotel we stay at when we come back to NYC next time."

The only thing we didn't like was that there were only two elevators. We stayed on the 19th floor and one elevator was down for much of one day. Understandably, mechanical things break down, but having only one elevator can cause challenges when you are on a schedule and waiting for 20 floors of guests to up/down.
