Perfect location - you feel like you live on the Upper East Side and very comfy and fun

The blind in my room wouldn’t open and it wasn’t fixed in the four nights I stayed!

All New York hotel rooms are small and this was no exception. The bathrooms are small but the room was clean and serviced every day. The location has good restaurants, coffee shops and bars all around so you don't have to go far for something to eat and drink. The neighbourhood is safe too. The staff at this hotel are excellent, really helpful.

There isn't a bar but the staff will get you coffee and there are plenty of snacks for sale in the seating area, To be honest you can always find fault but the staff made up for any shortfall in amenities.

This hotel was the perfect choice for our very first trip to New York City. Just around the corner from the 86th and Lexington terminal, allowing for quick movement to midtown and back. Just a short walk from Central Park allowed for hours of exploration in the park. A 15 minute walk to the East 90th Street Ferry Dock followed by a ride down the East River provided great views of the city on our way to Lower Manhattan. The staff was friendly, helpful, and diligent in their work. The room was the perfect size for our group and was spotless!

It’s a really well located hotel, out of the touristic area, but close to Central Park, a lot o coffee shops, restaurantes, places to see and to walk too. the staff team are very nice. The hotel offer a voucher for a free late ou cappuccino, and are expresso machines available in the room, for free!! They also give a welcome cookie. It’s simple.x but shows how they care for us. In may particular case, I asked for early check-in and they gave me. It was a really amazing experience. I really enjoyed it.

Well, rooms are really small, but this is very clear in the reservation options (just read the room size), so if you are a person that knows how to organize your luggage and your room, this won’t be a problem for you. At least, for me, it won’t.

The hotel is extremely charming and reminiscent of small Parisian boutique hotels. The Franklin is a hotel that has been in the neighborhood "forever", but was recently completely renovated in 2020 so it has a fresh, crisp look and feel to it. The old charm has be meticulously preserved. While the hotel does not have a restaurant there are 4 - 5 excellent morning coffee and pastry shops within steps in either direction.

The location is a plus for me because I know the area well and public transportation to any point in the city is quick and easy, but tourists looking to be in the heart of NYC, Times Square for instance, may be disappointed to stay in Manhattan's Upper East Side, an upscale urban residential neighborhood with tons of shops and restaurants catering to locals' needs. The bathrooms are small, but manage to offer all the essentials, including a nice tub and shower.

My husband and I drove in from Boston for my grandson's Baptism yesterday. They live just a few blocks away from the Franklin so we wanted something close by. Loved the building itself, and the pictures of old New York. The free espresso was welcome. I must say the cleanliness was exceptional. It was wonderful to have parking right next door. Comfortable beds.

Nothing. The rooms are small but we already knew that. The sink in the bathroom did not drain well. Other than that we have no complaints.

The property was very beautiful clean and decks elevator was a beautiful antique and yet when you go into the rooms they’re wonderfully updated great mixture. I just wish it came with the refrigerator. The location was great close to everything. There’s a parking lot literally right next to where the hotel is so if you need to drive there it’s wonderful because you don’t have to go far to get your car five steps. I would definitely recommend this place to other people I was here on a medical visit and it was very comfortable. And your staff on that day I checked in was wonderful and I mean wonderful

I thought the room was a little high considering it didn’t have a refrigerator and not a great closet

Friendly helpful staff, very clean, perfect location for our purpose. We asked for, and were provided with, 2 double beds. Water pressure was great for hot showers. The room was clean and newly painted and appointed well.

The room we had was very tight for the price. We had two midsized rollies but had no where to place them except for the window sill. No in-room coffee capability was expected due to reviews we read but still not our personal preference. Requiring the desk staff to make all coffee and provide ice for rooms was acceptable but we'd prefer to do that ourselves. However, this situation may be due to NYC COVID regulations.

The Franklin is an excellent hotel - very European in a good way in that it is super clean and very home-like. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room very very clean and pleasant. Tasteful in all ways. The front desk staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

I really liked everything - the one down side is that the room was pretty spare. No dresser, no real storage. The desk was tiny and the chair hard. Working there in the afternoon was pleasant though not luxuriant. The room was small so I imagine there isn't room to put in more furniture, which is fair. It didn't matter much to me but I can imagine it isn't everyone's taste.
