The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York

The location is prime with close proximity to 5th Avenue, Madison and Central Park. All of walking distance yet the hotel is very quite compared to other luxury hotels. The rooms are very spacious when compared to the average available in NYC. I loved all the complementary services offered. Lots of drinking bottled water daily, the suits and shirts laundry was amazing. They not only pressed it, but checked every item and fixed it. Buttons, added cufflinks, collar stiffeners…. I was impressed with the attention to details.

The A/C was a disaster in the room and most common facilities of the hotel. As well as the internet. Had to use my mobile plan most of the time. Please get it fixed once and for all.

Location was exceptional, right on the park and close to all the main shopping areas Bathrooms were lovely rooms were clean Staff, Front desk and concierge were very helpful and kind The room had prepared safety bags on arrival, including sanitizer masks and gloves. The room keys are really beautiful

Our room was in a courtyard of buildings (not park facing), we thought it would be quite but there was a really loud banging noise throughout the day and night. kept us awake at night. Mostly had to keep curtains closed as we could see into peoples offices and vice versa. beds were not comfortable. Under the beds was very dusty, I only know this because I dropped something and had to retrieve it. Otherwise the rooms were very clean No kettle or coffee machine in the room. We requested a kettle and it was delivered promptly, would have been nice to include some complimentary tea bags.

It looks like an old hotel from the outside, but I was totally shocked once I entered this elegant hotel. We came in the morning around 7 AM just to drop our luggage, however, we were surprised when the receptionist offered us a free early check-in free of charge for three rooms

Our one week stay was truly amazing! Everything, starting from the location to personnel and restaurant, was so great.

I don’t want to talk additionally about the location, it is just perfect, which is obvious. However I would like to point out the friendliness, helpfulness and constant availability of all the people in the hotel. Everyone from the front desk to the charming people in the lifts and the door men were so eager to help and just ready to do whatever you need, that it should be pointed out specifically. I believe that the people is the main advantage of The Pierre. Thank you for the wonderful holiday! you made it just perfect.

Let me start by saying parts are still undergoing renovation. You can tell it has a lot of history and it’s great to preserve that but some things could do with an uplift. The room was pretty spacious with a large walk in closet The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Location is fantastic with one side/exit on Fifth Avenue steps from the Apple Store on Central Park. Easy walk to Central Park, The Met (20-25 min), shops on Fifth, and Theater District (20-25 min).

The floor we were on had old faded carpet in hallway and rooms. Room furniture was comfortable but needed a refresh. Bathroom was tiny. You needed to dance around the toilet to get into the shower and then could only get out of the shower if you planned correctly the sequence of opening the shower door and stepping out!

the Pierre never disappoints. it’s like that quiet less flashy much classier cousin that has nothing to prove to the brassier newer relatives. the moment you enter the Pierre you’re transported into another era . From the friendly doormen in proper uniforms, to the elevator operators, to the warm housekeeping and great room service, it’s an extremely service oriented hotel. Now let’s talk about the rooms ; the rooms remind me of an older room in Claridge , London or Ritz Paris or old Four seasons before they got all modern. the towels are divine , beautiful Etro toiletries and Beds to die for.

Rooms had a lot of character and history, very clean and neat, plenty of space and very cosy. The location is excellent, just at the doorstep of Central Park and 5th avenue but in a quiet side street, which adds to the whole experience, a feeling of being local. The staff is amazingly kind and professional. Denzel at reception was the most helpful and kind, it was amazing how much he helped us so we could have the best room. Maurice, the concierge, is exceptional, without a doubt he made our trip. He gave us the best recommendations, planned our days, and made all reservations. He knows absolutely everything about where to go in NY! We will return to the Pierre, and we are most grateful!

The hotel is in the best location. The staff is very professional, room is very large and clean.

The only comment is the breakfasts. I don’t recommend to buy them at all in the hotel. Breakfasts consist of two types - American and continental. Both are very poor and the dopes are very few. Being in the heart of New York, probably the best solution is to eat more hearty and cheap in a couple of steps from the hotel. On a separate note, the breakfast room is very cold. Keep this in mind and bring a sweater.

upon arrival, we were given a small room. I had booked it months ago (special occasion, and it wasn’t inexpensive). I had to complain. it was 8:30 pm when we arrived from west coast (long flight etc). we were given a great room but it’s always aggravating to have to complain and negotiate for a better room upon arrival. sometimes Reception representatives don’t use good judgment. we were staying 4 nights. just give us the best room available at the arrival. why make guests have to “bitch” about things the moment they arrive?

From every perspective, the hotel is impeccable. The interior is gorgeous while decent. Regarding the staff with disciplined but lovely attitudes, amenities, beds and bathtub…, we don't have words to say. Marvellous. We enjoyed cuisines at "The Perrine", a venue inside the hotel. Each dish is health-conscious - good for people who are sensitive both to bodies and tastes. House-keeping is incredibly performed. Truly, The Pierre covers an iconic entity at Upper East Side. "Must-stay" hotel.

Somehow, the amenity doesn't include toothbrush.
