The highlight of the stay was definitely the staff. They were friendly, professional and went the extra mile to be helpful and understanding. I would like to single out Brodie from reception, he has a can I help you attitude, with a genuine smile that put him in the top class in my book. The room service was fast and efficient. The meals delicious, I would recommend the small plates with a bottle of your favourite wine. Special mention for the caramel pork pieces. Yum. The location is also spectacular and eating your feast of small plates, sipping your favourite drink with a view like this, so relaxing.. The room was spacious with a balcony and a bathtub. So a good place to relax and unwind.

Unfortunately, two things took some gloss of the stay. The king bed was not able to be zipped together, which found me on the milk crate like bed base. I didn't give feedback at the venue, so my problem, really. Second, I'm not sure if they are being environmentally friendly, but something stronger needs to be employed to kill the bathroom mould

A great place to stay - big, comfortable room with enough space to spread out. Excellent shower in a good if slightly dated bathroom. The staff were amazing at all times (and i talked to them at ALL times) The breakfast was truly excellent - don't believe the poster in the lift saying you need a reservation, you don't. The view from the small balcony was great although if there was a game at the stadium across the road i imagine it would be loud.

While the mattresses were very comfortable, the double bed was two single pushed together and there some continental drift leaving a narrow but perilous chasm between me and my beloved. Note - you will have to pay for parking if there is any event on as there is very limited street parking

very central to Wollongong CBD restaurants etc. staff very welcoming and helpful. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. bed very comfortable.

tThe bathroom was set up for disabled access. Because of this the shower had no screening. The water from the shower went all over the bathroom floor and around the toilet, basins etc, causing a slip hazard. we had to use one of the towels to mop up excess water, to we would slip in the water accessing the bathroom. table and chairs on the balcony where very dirty. lucky I brought wet wipes that I used to wipe them down before we could use them.

There was a mix up in the system , as we booked for 3 adults my wife , our 18 yr son and myself, we booked for 1 large bed and a sofa bed, but when we got to the room it only had a large bed. Advised reception who said that there was a mix up, but we would have to pay another $60 per night for a sofa bed, even though they could see that we booked for 3 adults, and would not budge, even though i said we would cancel and go to the Novatel who then would have been cheaper, they said that was our choice but would not do anything. BUT then we bumped into a nice staff member Oscar Kettle in the elevator, told him our story, he looked at our booking , could see that we had booked correctly , emailed it to himself, and told us to go and enjoy the day and he would take care of it at no extra cost, and true to his word, when we returned to the room the extra bed was there. So Oscar is the reason that when we go back to Wollongong next year we will stay at the Sage Hotel Again

What didn't we like.... well nothing staff were polite ( Even with our hiccup ) close to the beach, and shops, clean room all good. :)

The staff are all friendly and the room was very clean. The hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance to multiple restaurants as well as the beach.

The shower tended to leak water at the base resulting in a wet floor at the basin. Note - I intended to let the hotel know but simply forgot when checking out. It wouldn’t stop me from staying there again.

The refurbishments are excellent - the bathrooms brighter, the re-carpeting excellent. It is also excellent the restaurant is fully operation & the breakfast facilities upstairs are also excellent. Also the new key card system is great. The staff were excellent again - like visiting old friends.

Nothing. I think you have given a lot od thought to the refurbishment before you did it - then committed substantial funds to complete the project.

The breakfast was nice, very large portion . Our room was well made up , the air conditioning worked well and we had an opening window so slept well with fresh air . The staff were all very friendly .

Hard to get to with a lot of traffic around but that’s a minor inconvenience

Location to the stadium and cafes was great close to the beach, within walking distance. Parking under the building and a lift to our room.

No microwave for reheating food, larger closed off lid bins and a lockable screen door for the balcony. (allowing fresh air but no bugs) Parking should be included (free) for guests with one car. Food specials with the room for guests like a free breakfast or similar.

The room was very good. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it in the morning. Comfortable furniture. The bar and restaurant was great, terrific food. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We needed a break, and it was a perfect place to stay.

No complaints, stay was perfect.

Wonderful staff! Just absolutely amazing. They were always polite, friendly and helpful. Just made the stay amazing.

The food in the restaurant was horrible. Served beef stock as miso soup. Made me very unwell during the next day. And a steak served with four chips and no salad for $38 was very disappointing. Left dinner feeling unwell and annoyed.
