We traveled to the hotel by taxi from the airport; I don’t recommend this, as I cost $110 cash. We should have taken a train for $6, but it was late and there is a walk from the train to the hotel. The neighborhood is funky and restaurants are close by. The only downside was that we arrived on Friday night and there was a rave going on in the bar downstairs and the music vibrated the walls until close to midnight.

Just the rave on Friday night, but this was a one-off and the next night was quiet. The bathroom is shared, down the hall, so if you are not in to that, this isn’t the place for you.

The funkiness of the place! The large, high-ceiillinged, spacious rooms, the silence. The one staff member with whom I had connected from the start and who was very helpful, was around when I checked out, so that felt friendly. Also, rhe location being in a very cool area, with coffee shops and health food outlet was a definite plus along with the ocean being within walking distance.

The Cockroach. The hott drink provisions were a little meager! They didn't include milk, and I couldn't figure out how to use rhe coffee machine. And a bottle of water would have been welcome after a long flight.

This hotel is packed with character and in a really lovely neighbourhood, as long as you are up for walking or bussing to town and to the beaches etc, which we were. Loved the outlook, down to the main street, the styling, the bed and the bars downstairs. The shared bathroom (and slippers/robe) were also great.

There was no interaction from the staff past check-in. We were three days so it would have been nice if they had checked in with us, freshened up the room, given us fresh towels, tea bags, coffee etc. Wifi also wasn't good. (They seemed so busy downstairs in the pub, we didn't feel like hassling them, so that's probably on us!) Beach towels would have been useful, as well as a way to keep the bedroom window open for fresh air. Otherwise we loved it.

The heritage features, great food and cocktails, friendly and helpful staff. The showers were hot and strong and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! There is free parking at the back of the hotel if you are lucky enough to get a space, and the location is fantastic. The robes are a great idea too.

The pillows were so high and uncomfortable we had to buy new ones from Kmart. The renovations and decorations were lovely but the carpet still was dirty and worn and all the room doors were very dirty. The music was loud until midnight but that’s to be expected in a pub.

The location was great, close to lots of places to eat. My room was very bright, comfortable and roomy which was lovely. Bath robes, slippers, towels and even face washers were provided. The bathroom was clean and the showers had great water pressure and really hot water. The staff were really nice very accommodating. The coffee machine was a nice surprise and having a mini fridge was handy.

While it was great to have a little nespresso machine it would have been great to have a a microwave in the room to heat up the milk. That is my only negative and it's not even that bad.

If you don't mind shared bathrooms, this hotel is excellent. My room was large, air-conditioned and very clean. There were bathrobes, nice towels and soaps, slippers, a fridge, tea-making facilities, and a pod coffee machine. The bathrooms were clean and had soap dispensers. The whole place seemed very tasteful and well looked after. The location is good -- you can walk to the beach or the centre of Fremantle, and there are several cafes and an organic food shop nearby.

My room had big old sash windows, but I couldn't open them. Downstairs is all bar areas, and there is no separate lobby or check-in area, and the front door is locked after hours -- good for security but it means after hours access is through a back fire escape to the car park, not that nice for travelers on foot.

Superb location, super comfortable king size bed, very polite and helpful staff, great dinner menu with lots of choices (didn't have breakfast there but that menu looked pretty good too!)

car parking very limited for guests, with the rear car park being used by anyone who visits the hotel or by those who can't find anywhere else to park, so good luck finding a spot when it's busy!

The fabulous Frank welcome- he took my cases and let us straight into our room even though we were very early. Shared bathroom smelled great- room was a showstopper-.bonus was we could use the washer and tumble drier free! Food downstairs was spot on- we had calamari and prawn tacos

Nothing - we accepted it was a pub so music and cooking smells were part of it- it was quiet after 12- so no problems- great social atmosphere- very accommodating.

The room was so nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was great location for my stay close to family. Being able access a meal and breakfast included also makes the stay great. Access via the car park also makes coming and going easy. Free parking also a bonus. Be happy to return again soon.

The location was perfect for our stay, in the heart of Freemantle. The aesthetic was cool. The staff were friendly. And the bar downstairs did the best fish tacos in Freo.

Would have been nice to have a basin in the room, but the shared facilities were clean and spacious.
