The staff and the tuktuk drivers were super friendly and always happy to help out no matter what question or request we had. The guesthouse is nicely situated, just for walking to the central market it’s a bit far (around 25 minutes) but the street is calm and easy to find. The guesthouse also provides a small selection of dishes and the ones we tried were very tasty!

the room looked a bit more used than on the pictures, it’s not too bad but still not as shown. the bed was quite uncomfortable.

Great relaxing outside areas, shaded garden, great for kids. Staff were attentive, friendly. Tours, trips, bikes easily arranged. Lots of eco products and refills available. Room was comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay.

Not really Babels fault but quite a few mosquitos so take plenty of repellent and, as there are no mosquito nets, spray for the room.

Lovely guesthouse in central Siem Reap. They've got some 20 rooms of different sizes - beds are big, mattresses hard and bathrooms sizeable and well equipped. The restaurant's open all days and has a great choice of breakfast dishes at very fair prices as well as snacks and lunch/dinner fare. Vegetarians get alternative versions of vegetarian dishes. And the team's lovely. The guest house is also home to an eco shop with a variety of Cambodian sustainable products. Last but not least the guesthouse has a team of excellent tuk tuk drivers who will take you wherever you need to go. Because their fares are prenegotiated between drivers and guesthouse, the set prices are conveniently added to your room bill. Oh, and the pool's really nice, too.

There's no safe in the room (dunno if there's a central one), if you wanted to store valuables. Noises from neighboring houses can be quite loud at times, but quiet down at night.

I can’t say enough good things about Babel Guesthouse! It is extremely Eco Friendly, the owners and staff are phenomenal and the food is amazing! Babel Guesthouse has a huge Eco Friendly store and refill station called No Planet B Cambodia 🇰🇭 in its lobby. Many locals come to the restaurant just to eat. The menu has a ton of delicious and nutritious items including many vegetarian and vegan options. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. And the pool is magnificent! It was large and kept immaculate! I swam everyday during my stay. There is a huge variety of different tours that the guesthouse can arrange for your convenience. It is very family friendly and an extremely travel conscious and environmentally friendly guesthouse. There are a plethora of reasons why I will definitely come back but number one is the exceptional service and friendliness of the staff. They treated my wife, daughter and myself like we were family! Babel Guesthouse is highly recommended!

We stayed two nights at Babel with our three kids. What we like most were the people working there and the common area, the restaurant with nice breakfast, food, drinks and ice cream. Very nice atmosphere. All the staff works together, also the Tuk Tuk drivers are part of the team and help with other things at the hostel. We would highly recommend using the Tuk Tuk drivers from Babel, as they are very friendly, well organised, reliable. They picked us up from the airport and they drove us to Ankor Wat and everywhere else. The rooms were clean, beds are comfortable and baths are big. Air condition worked very well.

It was not a problem, but just as an improvement. We had two rooms. Regarding the four bed room => everything worked well an was clean, but it could be “styled” a bit nicer/ cozier.

When you arrive in Babel guesthouse, you feel immedately at home. The decoration is charming (bamboo based, big jungle leaves on white walls..). The staff is nice and professional. Restaurant offers cheap and delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, wonderful fresh juices and shakes. The guesthouse hosts a nice eco-shop in the hall and promotes eco-initiatives and sustainable tourism. You can refill your bottles of water for free. Our kids loved the swimming pool. They enjoyed the toys available for them.

Nothing

The main common area of Babel feels like a tropical garden with loads of green plants and pretty lighting. The restaurant/bar area is on one side, while more comfortable seating and a kids' play area are on the other. It felt homey with families and remote workers on their laptops relaxing and sitting around. The Norwegian owners are welcoming and eager to help if you need it. The staff is great-- friendly and helpful with any hotel- or tourism-related needs. The restaurant prepares delicious food, both Asian and Western-- everything we ate was delicious and plentiful.

At the time we visited, the pool area hadn't been tended for awhile, but the owner explained they'd been unsure whether to renew the lease, but decided to, and were in the process of improving the patio area. Because the hotel stressed eco-friendly practices, room cleaning is only available on demand. When we requested even a partial room-cleaning, it was sort of hit or miss. I finally scrubbed the grimy light switch plates with hand sanitizer-- they appeared to have been neglected for awhile. But the positive aspects of Babel won us over, and we weren't too put out by the rest.

Babel is a whole community of committed people who are working hard, day after day, to give you the best experience in Siem Reap. We loved the vibe and the family friendly environment, with toys available for children. We had a lovely tuk tuk driver, Kosal, who helped us a lot with our daughters and got plenty of suggestions for our (too!) short stay from everyone. The restaurant offers yummy choices, half way between local and western, with a decent kids menu.

Swimming pool surroundings are a bit squeezed and you gotta be prepared to be under the sun for most of the day, because the shade is not huge. Swimming pool environment maybe needs a bit of a refurbishment. We had noisy neighbors because of the works in the nearby building.

The Norwegian-family run Babel guesthouse is an absolute gem in Siem Reap and run with the utmost amount of love. Everything is carefully decorated, organized and extremely well maintained. On top of that, the whole guesthouse is focussed around eco-friendly travel, sustainability and social responsibility. In the guesthouse's store you can buy sustainable and re-useable cosmetics, toys, souveniers and everything around travel. The guesthouse managed to survive Covid and keep all their employees employed during the whole time! The restaurant is good and fairly priced in a lovely palm-decorated garden.

The shower is not good. There is no place to put the shower head as the only hook is pointint vertically. Waterpressure is low, so it is standing in a mere dribble of water with the shower head in your hand. Everything else was perfect.

I loved the eco friendly vibe. There was much information at the hotel about touring responsively which we really appreciated. They organized a Tuk tuk driver that was amazing!! Baer was exceptionally knowledgeable about the area, spoke many languages and continues to learn more independently. The staff was helpful, the food was good and the pool was a great place to relax from the heat of the day. Would definitely recommend for eco lodge friendly experience for families.

Bunk beds were very creaky.
