First. This is an 1860s built hotel being renovated. It is a work in progress. Which means there are areas still in need of work. This did not interfere with our stay in any way outside of cosmetic. Our room was clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff was exceptional both in the hotel and bar/restaurant. We had burgers and they were delicious. The patio across the street was not open due to weather but the entertainment scheduled did set up in the bar area. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was as described in another review...groovy lol. We enjoyed it. The lake view from our window was very nice.

For those of you looking for something to complain about....these items may cause a bad review from someone not understanding this is an 1860s building... There wasn't air conditioning in our room. It's late September. In Canada. I'm quite certain the window unit had been removed for the season! We opened a window. Voila! A/C!! Lol. The staircase to the 2nd floor is a bit narrow and steep. Again. This is an 1860s building! There were also two steps going up into the bathroom in our room. So the second floor is not ADA accessible. These things did not effect our stay but could present a problem for other travelers. We went into this understanding that the hotel is being renovated and feel the amazing staff more than made up for any cosmetic blemishes they are working on.

What a vibe from this place! Retro but clean, the room was extra spacious and the bathroom was definitely recently remodeled. Beds were comfy. The waterfront view was outstanding and what a treat to wake up to a Farmer's Market on Saturday morning, just across the road. We did not visit the patio across from us, but it looked really cool. You can really tell this is somebody's dream they are making come true. We booked out of necessity this time due to the cost and availability of hotels in Kingston, but next time it will be our first choice.

There were only a few small details that kept this from being a ten for us.

The location is perfect: not too far from the ferry, and near the local pub and the bakery that are an absolute must-try. There is also a bar and restaurant at the hotel, and while we didn't get the chance to try the food, the cocktails and live music on Saturday evening were pretty good. The self check-in went smoothly, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

My only real complaint is that in our particular room it was not possible to open the window.

Exceptional location if you like the nature including amazing sandy beach you have to drive to and then walk to it. Nice sleepy neighborhood you can enjoy walking around the hotel.

I loved everything so let me add here that the Wipp bar/restaurant was great. Remember if you like “fake luxury” all that is not for you!

It was really, really spacious…basically an entire flat! The kids really enjoyed taking the car ferry to the island

The ferry means making sure you arrive in time to get on because there are many other cars traveling too.

Sparkling clean and comfortable with efficient and friendly staff. We came for the music, (which of course was tremendous) and came away with a desire to tell everyone we knew about this fabulous experience! We could not have had a better time!

Amazing place. We had a much needed family vacation here. Could not ask for a better place. The hosts made us feel welcome and shared so much insight into the Wolfe island. Any questions or concerns were answered and accommodated.

My room was clean and cozy! The value for my money was extraordinary! The staff were friendly and knowledgable of the island and the ferry schedule, and helped me plan my trip to and from Kingston. I would recommend this hotel again and again!!!

the air conditioner was not working in one of our rooms and noone was picking up the hotel phone to assist us

the location was amazing and it really felt like a getaway with my partner the Ferry ride was just everything.

the property was cute and small it wasn’t so busy and it was clean.
