Curtains didn't block out all of the sunlight. Sheets were loud. Mattress protector was stained

Loved the bright fresh appearance of the hotel. It was very clean and the facilities were good. Great staff, very friendly and approachable. Loved our coffee machine in the room - mugs instead of cups would be good in the rooms.

Our room (106) was directly above what sounded like the swimming pool pump, and there was a constant 24/7 thudding noise. On day one the maid let herself into our room without knocking as we were getting changed and were naked - VERY embarrassing!! It was reported to the front desk. Disappointing that people still insist on reserving sunbeds and then disappearing for hours, this needs to be addressed by staff so that there are sunbeds for all guests.

We didn’t have the breakfast. We paid too much as we stayed several night and should of received the crystalbrook discount as I am a member. But we paid $295 per night, but should of paid $265. and we’re quoted $72 for breakfast. We could of had a rise and shine and paid $40 for two of us for breakfast.

The hotel i-pad was not charged. This is how the hotel communicates so it was a poor oversight. The tablets around the hotel had different details. Saying Roccos could only be booked on Mondays for the tasting menu, when it can be booked everyday

The view from the room was fantastic! The location was fantastic! Close enough to walk to everything but far enough to not be in the middle of all the hubbub and chaos. Nice pool but we were there over school holiday and there were lots of kids being kids and not being considerate of others...but it's a family resort so...

No "Do not Disturb" signs for the door. :-( We were told that to save the environment the room would only be serviced every 3rd day and that was fine by us...but they came in the first day and moved all our stuff...didn't leave fresh towels...And when we asked the front desk about it, we were told they don't have do not disturb signs and said they would make a note that we didn't want the room serviced and would call when/if we needed anything...they still came in! And then left all the lights on!

The property is well located, on the esplanade but away from the noisy Shangri-La end. Being reasonably new, facilities are fresh and modern. The pool is large with sand and inflatable pool toys. The room was large with lovely views of the water (when it didn’t look like a swamp).

There is a general vibe that the staff (mostly Italian) don’t want to be there, and customer service levels are lacking. Breakfast was inedible, with new and inexperienced staff having a terrible time trying to get things organised. Muddy’s Cafe next door is a much better idea for breakfast. The room was serviced each day but with no attention to detail, especially in the bathroom. The massage therapist’s level of English was very poor which was a shame because after having spent hundreds of dollars, she was unable to explain to me sufficiently about the products being used (which were very nice). Staff at Rocco unfortunately require personal hygiene attention to detail.

The room was a nice size, stylish, pool are is really good with various places to relax.

The service in Rocco was terrible, the waiter just wasn't interested, there was a page missing from the wine list, after 5 times requesting another list or if there was a page missing, he just wasn't agreeing with me he kept saying no there is no page missing, finally we got a new list so we could order a bottle of champagne. (Champagne and sparkling wine page missing) Topped our own champagne and then wine all night, had to ask for plates to be cleared. Other crew just walk past the table without any attempts to top wines, clear plates, order more food except one nice your lady.

Riley is a highly recommended location for a luxury stay in Cairns. We booked a Panoramic Sea Room and was originally assigned to the second floor in the tower. The photos display a bath, which was not in this particular room. We called reception and were easily reallocated to a room with the bath. The room was larger and boasted even more amazing views of the sea and Cairns, so be sure to confirm the room details and view upon check-in as both rooms are categorised the same online. The styling of the resort is modern and functional, with lots of power points, adaptable lighting and filtered water. The pools are fantastic, as well as the pool bar with generous food portions and great drinks.

We didn't like leaving! Room service for breakfast would have been welcomed - just snacks and dinner offered for in room dining.

I had mobility issues and had a very comfortable stay. The staff were amazing, especially Liam who went out of his way to bring a self-made ice pack to my room. The French staff (the husband and wife team) were very quick witted and on the ball. The pool side service was great and the QR codes worked well. It would be good to be able to room charge via QR code instead of multiple individual transactions. More umbrellas for shade options would be good, especially if the couches are reserved for conference attendees who didn't use them .. I had a very comfortable stay and if I'm in Cairns again, I'd definitely stay again.

* On arrival, neither the ac or phone in my room were working, but they were promptly rectified. * I was advised I didn't need to make a booking for drinks at Rocco, but it is highly recommended you do. It is very busy, especially on weekends with locals and tourists from other hotels. * For some reason restaurant wasn't open for dinner during my stay. *Suggestion: guests need to be able to order a coffee/tea via QR code poolside and via room service.
