The location of the Legacy Ottoman is what clinched my decision to book, and it was the right one. It's very, very handy for both Sultanahment and Galata, plus the Bosphorus/Golden Horn is just outside the window. We found the staff to be, at all times, helpful and responsive and were kindly moved to another room due to a/c issues with our first room. Though this took a couple of requests, it was dealt with then efficiently and politely. The Legacy also has a hammam (extra charge), which we thought was amazing. Our first experience of a hammam and I rated it so highly I went back again! The pool was not usable during our stay, sadly, but looked very well maintained and inviting, as did the gym facilities too. The sauna and steam room (included) were also great, spotlessly clean and a great addition.

The common areas are very welcoming and impressive, but we felt that some of the in-room furniture looked a little tired and in need of upgrading in comparison. Not a major quibble and certainly not something that impacted on our stay, but an area where perhaps a little investment is required to keep the hotel up to scratch. The same goes for the rooftop restaurant which we felt was dated and didn't make quite enough of the fantastic views and setting.

Just arrived we were greeted by a very kind staff: they helped us to park the car, we were accompanied to our room, the concierge, called Menti, gave us all the useful information for the hotel services and for visiting Istanbul at its best, providing us with his contact for any eventuality. the structure is charming, room are cozy and clean. among the services we used the spa where we were accompanied to every room and pampered with good tea; the fish-based dinner in the hotel restaurant is also excellent: the staff pays the utmost attention to every detail and you are followed in the choice of each dish. Fantastic location. We could not have asked for a better location. Very helpful staff. Room clean and very spacious. The size of the room was a major reason for the choice of hotel. The bathroom was excellent and immaculate. The bed was large and very comfortable with an excellent mattress rather than something that was sagging and past its prime. Also, the Legacy Ottoman provided very good value for money.

Although we were not particulalry bothered by it, aspects of the hotel were a little tired, such as some carpets and the odd mismatching cutlery. One disppointing issue was the rather basic slow and unsecured internet connection without even the possibility of paying for a faster and secure connection. Another was the gym. The gym's air conditioning did not work and the settings on the machines also appeared not to function properly. The nearest hotel with a good gym, an outside pool and a central location would have cost another £600 for the duration.

Breakfast was great. Location was good.

Our first few nights we had a room over the lobby, it was loud with people coming in all night. After midnight there was a large group assembling in the lobby to go out, I called reception to ask if they could quiet the group down...we had just arrived after traveling all day from Canada. The person who answered told me that the group was leaving soon. After 9 or 10 the reception staff should remind people hanging out in the lobby to be quiet, that is a reasonable quiet time in a hotel. We had no sleep those nights, I would consider that if I return. The air conditioner was not adjustable. We had it on the warmest temperature and lowest fan speed, but it was freezing and strong all night, we froze and woke up sick.

The rooms were good. The wifi didn't work in one of the rooms - we had two rooms. One of our toilets weren't cleaned properly. There was miscommunication about what items were free and we ended up paying quite a bit for items we were told were laid out on the table and there was no price list. The staff looked worn down and upset on Monday morning - this could be linked to the political situation but we expected better. The location was great.

The way you are greeted at the door, the way the concierge checm you in very smoothly , the porters which take the luggage and explain the room and hotel details. The sauna, pool and massage area were cute. The breakfast buffet was a big spread fit for a king. The mini bar and snacks they provided was great. It is perfect location to nearly every tourist location. The staff always had smiles and greeted you leaving and coming in. The hotels safety was great also as they have security for each entry and exit of the hotel The beds were bigger than expected, the rooms were cleaned every morning and you could sense the cleaniness happening. Its a 4th time stay for the legacy ottoman hotel and will always choose them whilst in istanbul.

Nothing to be honest as the overall experience was perfection. Only would like to mention, the light bulb in one of the lights was very yellow. But other than that all was wow.

i don’t like the swimming pool is on the -1 basement also the gym areas, felt too compact and also too small, and had to pass by the spa, felt like an obligation to do spa there so I don’t feel comfortable to go down using the gym , very obnoxious
