The bathrooms were amazing, super well equipped with foot towels, hairdryers, mirrors, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and multiple hooks in each shower cubicle. the towels were replaced every day, with a bath towel and a face towel provided. everything was super super clean and the staff were so friendly and accomodating. we even extended our stay by a night as we loved it so much! the location was AMAZING- a super short walk to multiple stations, and in the centre of everything right off shijo st. nishiki market was 30 seconds away, and we never had to walk more than 2 minutes to a convenience store or food. loved loved loved this place, everything was perfect, would 100000000000000000% stay again.

You cannot hear any noise from other rooms, but there was a tiny bit of noise which could come from the hallway, however it wasn’t an issue for us at all, as all the guests seemed very respectful!

Early check in was cheap. I love this "hybrid" of capsule hotel and regular hotel. Your rooms are actually lockable, and separate from others, while still using a shared space for showers and toilets, and the price to fairly match. This lobby is the only one I've felt invited to hang out in. Their vending machines have a great variety of drinks and snacks. Walking distance from stations and around the corner (less than 1 min walking distance) from Nishiki Market. Their laundry machines are clean and efficient. My clothes came out clean, mildew free, and dry. Wifi speeds are very accommodating. Very clean establishment overall. I would stay here again in the future.

I was woken up by a knock on my door for the first time ever in Japan. They need a do not disturb sign available for customers.

The location is very convenient, close to a major subway station, shopping market street and Gion district. Rooms are compact and tidy but very comfortable, and the communal bathroom space is kept clean and has hairdryers. Price is great, I stayed with my sister in a bunk room and each bed had a shelf, privacy curtain, dimmable lights and a charger so it was very easy and comfortable.

You do have to pay extra if you would like a daily cleaning service, but fresh towels are available each day free of charge. If you're staying on a higher floor, you do have to come down to the first floor to use a kettle or microwave but it's no hardship.

The location is great- walkable distance to a lot of the tourist areas without feeling like it's in the center of busy streets. There were numerous amenities available in the hotel and we really liked the hangout area in the lobby. There is also a Yamato Transport shipping store right outside if you prefer to ship your luggage which was very convenient since the hostel doesn't ship luggage out (they only receive them).

My friend and I each booked a bunk bed room and if I had shared one with my friend, the space would have been pretty limited for our things. I also felt like the shower rooms being in the ground floor/lobby was a bit inconvenient (and I honestly didn't like going back up to my room all clean and showered in the general public elevator lol). I also felt that the bathrooms, especially the shower stalls, could have been cleaner. (Also, I remember the ground floor/lobby being very warm for some reason... but maybe just due to the flurry of activity in the lobby)

An amazingly placed hostel-like hotel with great amenities and wonderful staff. We had a quick and easy check-in, then went straight upstairs to our room which was exactly as expected. The toilets and showers were clean and fully stocked at all times.

The breakfast package wasn’t fully explained and we didn’t realise that it was not actually located in the hotel, but around the corner at either of the local coffee shops. These provided a 1 drink and 1 sandwich option from a limited menu, no veggie option but if you explain they will prepare it without meat. But definitely no vegan option, and if you want different option then you have to pay for it.

love everything about this hotel! ● We stayed in the private twin room with super comfy beds and enough plug sockets. ●Even though there's only a small space between our beds and the door, we can still manage to locate ours 3 luggage there. ● the shared bathroom is super organized and clean. ●The laundry machine worked really well and one of them could be paid by easy card which was really convenient. ● Drinkable water everywhere.

Nothing!! The only thing i can think of is they don't have a fridge for us to store foods, but the convenient store is quite close by. So it's no big issue.

Super accommodating! They have everything you need. Check in and check out was easy. Also, unlike other hostels/communal hotels, you DON'T have to check out of your pocket room every morning for cleaning service, so this was super nice. Lots of storage space, your own window, and your own AC unit. I am a women traveling alone from the USA and I felt very safe.

The toilet paper is extremely thin. If you want a more personal experience, this is not a good option. The front desk is helpful, but they were not very personable (I speak some Japanese, so possibly lost in translation). This is best for introverts who want an easy stay.

This place honestly felt like luxury and was one of the best priced hostels we stayed at in Japan. New, modern facilities with plenty of space and very comfy beds. The rooms are small but fit us just fine and for the price they were a steal. There’s luggage storage downstairs if you don’t want your bag in your room, and free comfy loungewear you can wear around the hotel between showers & the bathroom. The staff was very professional and kind Loved it & would recommend!

Would have been great to have a shared fridge or some way to keep a few things cold, but not a big deal at all.

Comfortable minimalist hotel with all the basics that you need. The rooms lock, and everyone on the floor shares a bathroom that is also keycard access only. Gender separated showers and coin laundry on the first floor that were clean and brightly lit. I like that the room has a tablet that allows you to check the status of the washing machines and the number of showers available for use. You have the option of getting a new set of towels every day up to your check out day by hanging your bag on your room’s door handle. The location of this hotel is excellent! It is literally right next to Nishiki market in a big shopping district which also puts it in very close proximity to many delicious food options. The major Hankyu line station in the area and a lot of bus lines are also very close by. 25-30 minutes walk to a lot of the major shrines and temples in Kyoto.

Fabulous facilities, one of the best and especially cleanest places I've ever stayed in. We were there for a week and it's smack in the middle of Nishiki market, so a super convenient location at a walking distance from everything. It's also very well noise-isolated since we hardly heard a thing from the busy outside streets. The staff are super friendly and speak English fairly well. Reception desk is staffed 24/7 so there's never any problem no matter what time you get back in. Bedrooms were nice and comfy, AC was very strong which was amazingly refreshing during the very hot and humid days. They provide fresh towels every morning too which was also a blessing as we would shower twice a day from all the sweating in the sun at 40+ degrees C. The showers themselves can be a bit small if you need to shave your legs for example, but the shower rooms are quite large and you've got plenty of space and hooks and a shelf for your clothing and such. I did see a bit of mold spotting inside the showers behind their plastified notices, but otherwise everything was great. Lots of toilets and sinks and mirrors too, so all the girls can get prepped and pretty at the same time. They also provide pyjamas if you need to clean yours. The only thing I'd say is an incovenience is there are only 6 laundry machines in the whole hotel (3 in the ladies shower room and 3 in the mens' on the 1st floor). So cross your fingers that there isn't a whole French family that will be using all of them at once...

This isn't really a complaint as we were probably unlucky during our stay, but I wish there were more than 6 laundry machines for the whole property. Also, do note that the drying sequence wasn't very drying as we had to put in more money for an extra drying cycle. Still, at 500Y for a laundry cycle (detergent included) and 100Y per 30min of additional drying, it's still very affordable.
