Very cheap price for a double bed room with a private bathroom - check in and check out are extremely no-fuss, you just walk in and out. Room was actually bigger than the last budget hotel we stayed at. Very short walk from the station, great food places within walking distance too.
No real complaints, just little things: No bathmat, a little worn and scuzzy round the edges in some places but nothing that's concerning or actually a problem. Small bathroom but reasonable for the price. Def a solo or couple stay.

The location is really good to explore Nara and also close to the station to visit Kyoto from here (with rapid train its about 40min ride). Much!! cheaper than staying in Kyoto and besides Nara is even more beautiful as Kyoto. So much to discover! You should definetly take a couple of days here, this place is highly underestimated and yet not so crowded. The vibe in the hostel is really comforting as they took great effort in arranging the community area - there often is quiete, relaxing music playing in the background and we really got a peaceful mind. We made a mistake and booked the wrong room and the manager even gave us the one we actually wanted. Really good service!! We prolonged our stay here.
We recommend to book a room including your own bathroom. Even when the staff here is cleaning properly every day, other guests may not leave the community bathroom clean. The kitchen could be a little bit better equipped but probably most people don't cook anyway.

It's conveniently located between Nara Station and the deer park, so it's ideal for exploring the area. The beds and facilities are clean and comfortable. The kitchen was good. It has a nice sitting and eating area.
The staff were initially difficult to get hold of when there was a problem with getting into my locker in the morning. I realised that I needed to message them on booking.com, and then they came to help pretty quickly. The toilets and showers are really small, and I repeatedly hit my head on the towel rail when using the toilet. Not ideal if you aren't a small person.

The location was great as it was close to the JR Nara station and close enough to the main attractions that Nara beholds. The service was very straight forward with little interactions needed with staff. For a group of 4 people staying for 1 night the room was surprisngly really spacious and had 2 bunk beds and a big double bed which was more than enough for the 4 of us and allowed for room to place our luggage. The toilets were equipped with all that was nescessary for 1 night, although it was a pretty tight squeeze for the average size of us australians but regardless did the job. Overall would 100% reccomend as it is a great place to stay for a short amount of time and very affordable.

I like the vibe of the place and how it is (kind of) in the middle of JR Nara and Kintetsu Nara stations. Probably the best place I've been to so far. My only issue was that my room lacked sunlight, but I wouldn't take it against them, as it's understandable for a hostel in the middle of the city.
I'm not sure whether to not like how I was welcomed. It wasn't bad, but I was just given the key at the front desk without any proper introduction of the place. The rest of my stay, the person at the reception was kind enough to offer me some light at the common area where I was working. It seems like the lights automatically turn off at a certain time. Aside from the welcome, everything is great!

Our only room with own bathroom on our whole Japan journey - and it was great. Compared to Japan prices you’ll have a great value for the price you pay here. There are body and hair products in the bathroom, the room itself is a little small, but that’s fine. Bed was amazingly comfortable. When we have been there it was calm and the shared rooms of the hostel were clean.
Just a little, little far from the Deer Park - but still walkable. But for sure there are places closer by - but not for this price.

It was clean, really really nice for such a cheap hostel, pretty good location (right in the middle of sightseeing locations but not too far from the station).
The washing machine sucks - my clothes were soaked so I had to pack damp clothes in my bag the next morning. First world problem but just annoying. Other than that the facilities were fantastic.

confused about the payment! i booked it and paid, then when I arrived I was charged again not sure how that works ? I’ll need to check my bank statements to see if I got charged twice which would be unfortunate I paid cash upon second payment and should have gotten a receipt? It was quoted at 1700yen but had to pay 2000? not sure if I got Shanghaied!? I hope not???

The room is clean. The common space is nice and cozy. They provide everything you need e.g. towel, toothbrush, kitchen, washing machine, hair drier, and charger for mobile! The staff is nice and friendly.
Due to the building structure, you can easily hear what people in the other room are doing. For example, walking around, listening to music, or running up down the stair. Although they provide a washing machine, they do not provide an outdoor space to hang the cloth.

All walls are decorated with paintings and they have a cozy terrace (for smokers, unfortunatelly) The kitchen was small but very complete. We had private bathroom!
We couldn't meet anyone from the staff. They don't have lockers. If you arrive early, your luggage will stay at the common room without any safety
