This was without any doubt our top hotel during the entire stay in Japan. Location is extremely convenient, close to tube and right in the very heart of Osaka. Ryokan rooms are very spacious, furnished with everything you can possible need. We even had our own closed balcony with lovely view. Japan breakfast was amazing to try, public bath with nobody else in it cherry on the top. Would definitely stay again, many thanks to the lovely staff!

The location was great if you are looking to be near the action of Dotonbori, but offset a bit from a noise perspective. The room was spacious and had a great layout. Our room had large sliding windows in a sitting room overlooking the river. It was so cool to open the windows and listen to the bustle of the neighborhood. The staff were very nice and helpful- they also offered to hold our luggage until 5pm after check out which we definitely took advantage of for a few hours. We were also able to pay a small fee to have our laundry washed and dried for us.

The bedding was a bit tattered and the hallway carpets were dirty and stained on our floor. The hotel looked like it could use some deep cleaning and updates.

this is really a hotel, not a ryokan - but it has the style of a ryokan - same style rooms, a common bath, breakfast dining room with traditional japanese breakfast served. The location is amazing - right at the heart of Osaka at Dotonbori. The value for money is phenomenal - I'm touring Japan now, staying in ryokans only, and this place was 1/4 of the price of the rest - I still am not sure, as there isn't any catch, it's a great place to stay. The common bath area on the 6th floor is decent and very adequate. Finally - staff is very helpful - there was a gentleman at reception who helped me with all my queries, sending luggage, etc.

the rooms are not too big (to be expected) and the beds are futon - which may not be for everyone.

This was a great place to stay especially if you want to experience a ryokan and be in the city centre for easy public transport access. The price for this place is extremely fair as well for the experience you get. It is a tad bit far from the airport but very close to Shin Osaka Station if you get to Osaka by bullet train. The staff there were amazing, kind and helpful. The room was very homey and they even prepared snacks for us. I also highly recommend using the public bath. If you go early, you get the whole bath to yourself. Have a nice hit soak after walking all day exploring Osaka. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to Osaka.

We had the Japanese style room which was what we wanted to experience and it was great! There was also Japanese style breakfast included in the package, and it was really delicious and satisfying. The room was spacious, and what I love most was that it has an entrance area, so we didn't need to worry about where to put our shoes! We picked the room that faces the river which was a plus. Highly recommended, especially to first time travelers who would like to experience a ryokan in Japan.

It was just the location that I didn't really favour because it goes out right on to Doutonbori street. But it's nothing to do with the ryokan. I just discovered too late that I didn't really like Doutonbori street. The ryokan is excellent otherwise.

Great location! It’s in the heart of the city near the food market and shopping and nightlight. It’s a tiny bit loud as it’s right in the nightlife area but honestly, it’s completely bearable with ear plugs and I slept soundly each night. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We arrived hours before check in and left our luggage with the staff who actually brought it up to our room once it was ready while we were out sightseeing. Also the night clerk was the sweetest, friendliest gentleman. He remembered who we were and when and where our flight was to after Osaka and actually then printed out a paper detailing what train we should take and when it would arrive and which platform to go to. He also looked up where the check in desk at the airport was. He did all this without us asking, and I just found that to be above and beyond. Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was good. 200% recommend this property!

Nothing to complain about!

We wanted to stay in a simple, traditional Ryokan and really enjoyed our stay at Kaneyoshi Ryokan. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean, comfortable and had a nostalgic charm about it. Every morning we enjoyed tea and coffee looking out the window over the canal and bustling streets below. However, the highlight was the delicious (and impressive) breakfast at the Ryokan. It was the perfect way to start the day.

We would have preferred a room farther away from the smoking area, but this was a very minor issue.

- Tatami-style room with a comfy nook at the window. - Sliding doors. - Comfy futon. - Public bath at the top floor. - Nice breakfast that has a homemade feel. - Staff was really friendly and welcoming! - Central location right next to Dotombori.

- The air conditioner and futon were setup in a way that the air would blow directly at you while sleeping. With the air conditioner off the room got too warm. - There were four labels you could put on your door regarding room cleaning. I feel like they were ignored, as our room was made when we had a "no cleaning needed" sign, and nothing was cleaned when we had a "please clean" sign. - The central location also meant that it could get a bit loud. In the middle of the night you could hear people outside and twice at ~4am there were motorcycles revving really loudly right in front of the hotel. Also you could hear everything that was going on in the hallway. I was woken up a few times, but my boyfriend slept through everything.

Beautiful room overlooking the canal. Comfortable tatami room spacious enough for 3 adults and the little balcony was a bonus. Staff were just lovely and super helpful. Nice Onsen which I had to myself each time. Location is perfect and we will absolutely be staying here whenever we are in Osaka. Yes it’s a little noisy at night from the cruise boats but think about your location! Certainly didn’t bother us and made us feel part of the city. We loved it.

Absolutely nothing.

I really loved how spacious the room was. It had its own bathroom and an awesome view of the river. There was plenty of room to stash our bags too. Despite being in a super touristy spot, I had a great night without any outside noise. They even hooked us up with yukatas, which my brother and husband totally rocked for a dip in the onsen. What I also adored was the traditional Japanese vibe of the place. Wish I could've stayed longer and soaked in that view from the room.

Everything was great, no complaints whatsoever.
