It was a nice cosy little Hotel close to everything we wanted to do. We got greeted with a glass of prosecco and in the room was a little welcome plate with chocolate and dried fruit waiting. The stuff was super friendly and helpful at any time. I loved the room. It was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the lighting was great. We really enjoyed the à la carte breakfast which was included in our price. We tried everything and it was all so good.

I honestly loved everything

Just had the pleasure of staying at the enchanting Palazzo Castagna Boutique Hotel. From the moment I stepped foot into this beautifully renovated old palazzo, I was captivated by its charm and character. Location-wise, this palazzo couldn't be more perfect! Being just minutes away from the airport, it is incredibly convenient, for every tourist visiting the island, especially after a long journey. The highlight of my mornings was the delectable breakfast served at Palazzo Ghaxaq. Impeccable service!

It is by far the best hotel I spend my holidays in. It is very new, thus all amenities are very new as well. The rooms are spacious and each has a nice small balcony. Breakfast is a la carte which might be strange at first but they offer a broad enough selection that everyone will be happy. Even though there is a bar on the other side of the street, the rooms are quiet and in the inner courtyard with a small fountain is very relaxing. Sadly the hotel bar near the rooftop pool closes at 16:30 (with plans to prolong this in the future). The hotel is very close to the airport (less than 15 minutes).

The hotel does not offer any dedicated parking, but it is always possible to fight a spot in the nearby streets. The hotel can only decently be reached by car or taxi since it is a rather small town. (If you come by car and use a navigation tool be careful since Google tends to send you into very narrow streets which might leave you stuck.) Since it is a small town restaurants are best found in the nearby cities. The only negative aspect about the hotel itself is that the rooms have some kind of annoying green emergency light and since the hotel is rather new not all processes function perfectly, but this can easily be excused.

The staff could not have been more helpful. They upgraded me for free to a suite with disabled showering and toileting facilities when they knew I was on crutches. Free glass of prosecco on arrival. Beautiful rooftop terrace and overall the hotel is beautiful and super clean. Beds are super comfortable.

Minor concerns, could have a bit more air con in the hallways. The rooftop could do with more sun loungers and the bars/ food all close very early eg 4.30pm so would be nice to see it open later. We were lucky that they extended the evening we were at the rooftop til 6pm 😁

The breakfast service was phenomenal - the friendly staff great you and present you with a menu. If for whatever reason you don't like the breakfast (I tried the vegan Polenta and really wasn't keen), they will happily exchange it for another breakfast. They will promptly serve you with tea, coffee and juices whilst you decide. My favourite was the English breakfast but you can have croissants, yoghurts, fruit salad and cereals in addition if you're ravenous! Seriously, the breakfast is outstanding and puts you in a fantastic mood for a day in the sunshine. The housekeeping is done daily with wonderfully clean, crisp bedding which I appreciate and the bathroom is luxurious. There is a well-stocked mini-bar in your room for drinks and nibbles too and a safe for your valuables. The wi-fi is excellent and the TV is already tuned in to your favourites - Netflix, Amazon Prime and You Tube etc. I love that we are next to a magnificent church as I can hear the bells chime from my room. The pool bar is open until 20:00 for snacks and drinks outside which is fortunate as there are no decent restaurants nearby but if you did fancy an evening stroll there is a Kebab and Pizza shop at the bottom of the road in addition to an ATM (Bank of Valetta). There is a chemist next door for any personal needs and a Lidl within walking distance should you need anything specific. There is a ladies hairdressers (Gebelin Hairdressing) a couple of doors down if you want a stylish up-do, so really everything you need is within walking distance. There are buses available to take you around the island but additionally taxis are simple to book on-line. Once again all the staff provide exceptional service and I feel extremely safe as a solo traveller here. Thank you ever so much for your hospitality - I'll be back.

My Company booked this Hotel for me, I stayed for a week. It was supposed to be close to the airport and convenient to my work place. I have been to many hotels in my career and did not expect to much. But as they say: always expect the unexpected“. The small town of Ghaxaq has this jewel right in the center. Once you enter the Palazzo Castagna you are aktually in a Palazzo. It is a brand new hotel with the accents of the old tradition of Malta. Mr. Vasallo an his crew put the icing on the cake by offering the best service to the individual guest. I felt welcome as a friend and treated as a queen - just like in a Palazzo!!! I am thinking of actually returning as a private guest! 😍👍

We loved the location , tje town is sleepy and steeped in history and so much interesting history attached to the hotel building. The building itself has been lovingly restored with original features so well preserved. The bedroom was perfect. The most comfortable bed , everything was luxurious. The breakfast was beautiful. The Resturaunt for evening dining has not yet opened but there is a menu you can you can choose from at the roof top bar. Chef made a platter for us with meats, cheese, honey,nuts, breads and some fries and we enjoyed every mouthful. We want to return soon and look forward to the delights the restaurant will bring.

Loved our room. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Fabulous bathroom.

We had to ask for tea and milk in our room. Bedside tables were too small particularly when space was taken up by a telephone. On our day of departure we requested a packed breakfast as we were leaving at 4.45am for the airport. In the event we were asked to pay for a lunch pack which was provided. When we pointed out that the cost of breakfast was included in our booking, the lunch fee was waived. The lunch pack was disappointing. It included ham and cheese sandwiches (I'm veggie) and 3 lots of crisps and a packet of M & M's. A breakfast pack would have been preferable including maybe some fruit, a yoghurt, a roll and some pastries.

Beautiful building,we walked from the airport which is doable but pretty far. Checked in after 1AM was no problem at all. The room was very chill on arrival which we could appreciate. They started the airconditioning before arrival due to the heat stroke. The bathroom had everything you need. Good shower gell, shampoo bodylotion a sewing kit and a makeup kit. I didn't see a hairdryer but i might have missed that since i didnt use it. There was also a bottle of sparkling water a lovely bed and a overall luxiurious feeling Breakfast was amazing. You get a menu and have i think 10 options to choose from. Savory to sweet. The staff however was a little confused at times but I don't mind that. They where polite and hardworking.

Excellent experience at this hotel! I was worried this hotel didn’t exist given there were no reviews and the pictures were still 3D renders, but turned out it was completely new and just opened. We had an absolutely fantastic stay here and would definitely come back when visiting Malta again Here’s what we liked; - We arrived at 3am and the reception person was so cheerful and quick to get us in our room. The staff in general is so attentive and friendly - breakfast was absolutely delicious - great bed, comfy bathroom - the roof top pool, bar and view is great - we liked the quiet town it’s located in! Very close to the airport too. - stunning architecture

Only disappointing thing was the fake grass in the patio our room looked out on.
