Location excellent - right in town and only 5-10 min walk to river and historic downtown. Hotel - Breakfasts and Dinner were exceptional, excellent quality throughout. Room - We had an immediate upgrade upon arrival which was very nice, rooms spotless and very comfortable.

The only problem we had was gaining a "later" drink from the bar.....the bar closed at 11pm and if you had come back from dinner in town and wanted a nightcap before bed you couldn't. I have passed on to management that these days I would have expected to be able to order a drink certainly up until 12 midnight as a resident.

This hotel is amazing. The staff is super friendly, Pedro was so outgoing and kind and really helped make the experience all that much better. The food and room service options at the hotel are great. The bed is really comfortable, with a lot of space in the bedroom. Everything was just very comfortable and it was perfect for our stay.

The shower is a little bit weird because the drain that they had did not drain the water well, so we asked to get that removed so that it wasn't a lake when we showered. The hotel is downhill from a lot of uphill spots, going out and walking was sometimes very tiring when every way was steep uphills.

Great modern hotel in central location, convenient for all the attractions of Porto. Very comfortable rooms with super king beds & good showers. Friendly & helpful staff. I would happily return.

Gallery rooms are quite small (not unusual for a city) & so storage in the room is a bit limited. No wardrobe and only two very small drawers & there is not really any space to hang longer items like dresses. Probably fine for a day or two but not ideal if you have clothes for 2 people for a week or more. Housekeeping did supply me with a portable rail to hang clothes on which helped. The hotel is very nicely furnished & the bar & restaurant are nice places to sit but there’s no outside terrace or garden.

This hotel is centrally located and has great facilities. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip and staff are really friendly and helpful. Lots of shops and restaurants close by and all sights are within walking distance, albeit be prepared for the hills of Porto. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Porto. Also the hotel has a great restaurant that looked excellent and was really popular for dinner. We also got a free city map which was handy.

The bathroom arrangement is a bit different to most in the room we stayed in with glass frosted doors offering privacy. I liked it but it might not be for the more traditional folks.

From check-in to check-out, our two-night stay with Portobay Teatro was PERFECT! The room size was spacious and the room itself was well appointed. Although you’re in the heart of down town, we were able to sleep with the balcony door open and enjoyed the fresh breeze and waking to the sounds of seagulls playing on the breeze. You could also access the river front within a 10-12 min walk as well as some amazing restaurants.

Although totally out of the control of the hotel, there is a lot of construction occurring in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, which can take away from the Porto vibe.

Good location, convenient for great restaurants and getting to attractions and sights but slightly away from the intense tourist crowds. Very quiet room and large, comfortable bed. Nice bathroom products. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

Wasn't keen on the frosted glass panels/sliding door arrangement for the bathroom which wasn't good for sound privacy when using the toilet, or light disturbing partner during the night! Nice big walk in shower though. Didnt have breakfast in the hotel as it was quite expensive unless you really like a huge breakfast! Plenty of cafes nearby where you can get nice coffee and pastries for a fraction of the price!

This is a lovely hotel with extremely welcoming and friendly, helpful staff. Room and bathroom were extremely clean and the shower was excellent. Bed was comfortable.The restaurant is nice and airy with a Scandinavian feel...and the Italian dinner and beakfast there was very good. You can also eat in the less formal bar which has a tv. The hotel is well placed for all the Porto sights. It took us about 20 minutes to walk down to the river front which is a lively area with bars cafes and restaurants.

Nothing really... obviously you have a bit of an uphill walk back from the river front but there is a bus that takes you most of the way if you don't fancy walking. And this is Porto...you have to expect there will be hilly areas!

The hotel was lovely, beautiful rooms and decor, incredibly clean everywhere and the staff were some of the best I have ever encountered; friendly, informative, helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. The location was amazing.

The bathroom could be designed better. Firstly, there is no door, so it's not very private (there are glass doors for the toilet and shower so it's not completely open). Also, the most superb shower but our shower mat didn't fit under the shower door so it got quite wet everywhere. And the taps for the sink, whilst beautiful, just weren't practical.

great location, 2 minutes from the train station, all the main attractions within a short walking distance; extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff; the service is top-notch cleanliness; comfortable beds; good restaurant offering Italian cusine; good selection of fruits and juices for breakfast

breakfast was a bit of a letdown - all the 'hot' meals were cold (no matter whether you had breakfast at 7.00 or 10.00), the selection is pretty basic; the temperature in the room was too high for us, especially at night (however, I know that it is a very individual matter) and sadly it couldn't be altered manually

Brilliant staff. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was my husbands 40th birthday the day we arrived and they put a bottle of sparkling wine and cake in the room. Location is great, easy to walk everywhere. Decor is modern and feels new

We had a few problems with the shower, being wet room style, it didn’t drain quickly enough and then flooded into the main room. Room was a little small but to be expected in a city centre hotel and didn’t matter for a weekend.
