We chose Saiaritz to have a rural base close to Bilbao, with parking. It was a good plan but Saiaritz made it fantastic. The building is architect built, beautifully finished. Amurrio lies in a lovely green plain, surrounded by hills; in the middle of Spain’s heatwave we stayed cool. We could take the (air conditioned) train from Amurrio to Bilbao for a few euros, with no parking hassles. But by far the highlight of our stay at Saiaritz was the hilarious and warm family who run it, Eritzu (sorry I don’t know how to spell her name, but she will know I mean her) her brother Angel, parents, grandparents, children alll play a part in making you feel welcome. We are travelers , it was 41 cities from our tour . We have been in more that 100 hotels and I can say that it is one of the best. 1. Very nice atmosphere and energy 2. Very clean 3. The best air 4. It is really close for everything 5. Amazing room and nice materials . The floor is from really rich wood , the bathroom has all the shampoos which are very high quality. AND BREAKFAST. It amazing

Really nice little hotel, with very beautiful and clean room. Lovely views to the mountains from the terrace. Very friendly owners and very welcoming. I had dinner in their restaurant and it was fabulous and very good value with great service with a smile. Lovely breakfast also the following day, you will not go hungry here🤣

The staff was great! The location perfect for me. The let me check in very early even though my room was not ready because I would be coming back very late that night. Also, they have a great Spanish-style breakfast either the best coffee I think I ever had.

Friendly staff, great room and very clean. The restaurant nearby very convenient and good value for money. Quality food. Breakfast was superb!

The only “negative” thing for me was the bed. It was quite hard and a bit uncomfortable for me personally, but it’s totally subjective.

Everything. It far exceeded our expectations as a stopover on the way to Bilbao. Modern purpose built small hotel. The room had everything we needed. The views were amazing. French windows giving on to lovely small terrace. Windows were tilt and turn so could also be open at night. the owner and staff were lovely - nothing too much trouble. Would stay here again and again!!

Stunning accommodation, fabulous service and great food in the 'attached' restaurant - Ruperto. Staff went out of their way to help at every opportunity. A must visit. In these troubled times a real haven and exceptional value for money. One word of caution; if ordering food in the restaurant, the portions are enormous. Reminds of what's important in life.

That I was only staying one night, but I will be back !!

This place is a hidden gem. The standard of the accommodation is very high and the scenary is amazing. But what really tops this place are the owners. They are genuinely decent people so willing to help out and very laid back. Evening food and breakfast is top class. Very handy for Bilbao. Would definitely stay again

Spotlessly clean, modern contemporary hotel. High quality, high class fixtures and decor. Great restaurant/bar 1 minutes walk away run by the hotel owner. Friendly and welcoming hosts. 1.5 hours from Santander ferry.

Our SatNav took us into town and we had to use Google maps to get us out to the hotel.

Good location for the ferry port. Friendly staff. Quiet location with excellent views from the balconies.

The restaurant is in a separate building a short walk away and there are no facilities for making tea/ coffee in the bedrooms.
