Very early start so never bothered with breakfast. Got to the hotel very late . Still time to have a quick beer and bar snack sandwich, very tasty and much needed. The room was very clean and modern. I would guess that the place has had a in depth refurbishment recently. Bed was very cosy and it took some getting out of it to go to work, several more hours would have been great. The location was 5 minutes from my next day call and the early start got me there with no traffic hold ups, amazing for the city Center location of The Crofts. Would I stay again? It’s on my list of frequent used hotels already. Great staff great room great bed hence my great review.

I should have got to bed earlier!

The hotel was a 10 minute taxi ride from city centre but was in a quiet residential area. A code was texted to access the building and the room which meant no interaction with staff was needed, although they were around and very friendly. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. There was tea and coffee available and the shower was powerful and easy to regulate temperature. The bath towels were big enough for larger people which is important to me. The rooms are above a friendly pub so there is a communal area to sit. Breakfast was available to book as an extra but we didn't.

I have nothing negative to say about the Croft other than the price was extremely high for one night but that was the same across the whole city due to a large concert happening.

Before I left my last hotel, Crofts Hotel had sent me a text with my room number and code. Immediately I was aware that this hotel was well organised. When I arrived the staff couldn't do enough to help me settle in. The lady that met me was very helpful, and introducing me to the pub's African Grey parrot was just an added bonus. My room was immaculate. It was clean, comfortable and catered for my every need. I was well impressed and the room was remarkable value for money. This hotel was like discovering a gold mine and I will certainly make this my first port of call when I visit Cardiff again. I highly recommend this lovely hotel/pub if you want a friendly place to stay in Cardiff. The staff and the regulars are friendly and welcoming.

I liked everything about the Croft Hotel. The only thing I would advise is to arrive as early as possible to allow you time to get a space to park on the street. The hotel doesn't have its own car park but there is plenty of "on street" parking; you just have to be lucky to get a space. Be aware there is also permit parking for locals. If you park there you will get a ticket.

Easy check-in (only saw staff when leaving). Very clean. Surprisingly spacious for what was billed as a single room. Decent sized bathroom. Only stayed overnight so can't really say more.

Only natural light was from the bathroom window. Whilst frosted, I'm not sure one couldn't be seen from the street through said glass. There was a light outside the bathroom window which shone into the room even with the door pushed to. Bed was a bit soft for my liking but that's very much personal preference. There were two pillows; it was a small double for one person; it was more than adequate. No flannel/sponge provided but that was my fault for forgetting. There was an handtowel and a bath towel.

Prior to arrival, we were given an access code for the door, which worked fine. Room was clean and a good space, with a good black-out blind. The smart tv could be tuned into apps such as Amazon and Netflix. The hotel is located in not the best part of town, but is nevertheless handy for the city centre, no issues. Did not have breakfast there, as there is a Wetherspoons on the way into town! The only member of staff we met throughout our overnight stay was a lady who was cleaning the rooms as we left. She was friendly and approachable. Nice stay.

We have never stayed somewhere with no "meet & greet" before, notwithstanding there is a pub downstairs, if anything is required. However, the system worked well, and it was an enjoyable stay.

I liked the hotel a lot - it is exactly my favourite type of hotels, with very basic design, all in black and white with no decorations, when there are all types of basic facilities available and working well, everything is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful. There is a kettle in the room as well as tea, coffee, sugar, milk (real, not creamer) and even little packs of oatmeal. The wifi worked just fine, no issues. There is a pub right under the hotel (initially the crofts is a pub i think), but it was not noisy in the room even when it was noisy in the pub. and truly, if i did indeed get the single room i requested, i can say it is very spacious (i will attach photos). The room is very warm too, the heating worked just fine.

The staircases are very narrow and rather steep - be careful. In the winter the floor in the room can get a little cold - i wish i had brought slippers. None of these things are a problem really.

The price is fantastic for the facilities provided. Easy to find and a good location for me as I was visiting my son who is at University. Pin number, texted in advance, to get in was a good idea and easy to use. The breakfast for £10 extra was well worth having and I really enjoyed it. It was cooked well and to my liking and the cold side was also very good. The hotel/pub bar was friendly and all the staff I met were friendly and helpful.

Room direction in the halls would have helped as I could not find my room. It was the opposite side to where it appeared it should be and was off a landing over the laundry area. Rooms 8 and 9 were in the opposite direction to 5,6,7. Very odd as the room had two doors and one did not open with the pin code despite being opposite room 7. The bed was not comfortable for me being too soft for my liking. The bedside cabinet was too far away to use the light easily but I managed to move it to the extent of the light lead and could use it just from being in bed. Not the hotels fault but a crying baby in room 7 opposite meant a disturbed nights sleep. The road is not the best for leaving a car in and I would not leave an expensive one there.

Great find! Newly refurbished in a simple, stylish way but not bland like the hotel chains. Warm and comfortable. Staff exceptionally helpful. Good, quiet location with free road parking. About 30 minute walk from city centre, but only 5 minutes from City Road shops and restaurants. Comfy bed, great shower. Spotlessly clean. Clothes hanging rack thingys very clever! Very generous supply of tea, coffee etc.

Nothing at all. There wasn't a table or desk which didn't bother me, but might if working.

The location was ideal for the event I was attending (my reason for choosing this hotel), which was not at a venue in the city centre itself. Staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. My room was on the top floor - immaculately presented, warm and clean with everything I could have needed including oat milk! Breakfast has to be prebooked as it's cooked to order which is something I'll bear in mind as I will most definitely stay again! Excellent value too for a property in central Cardiff.

Nothing to dislike.

Before arriving at the hotel I received a text message with my room number and my door code. Upon arriving to a warm welcome I was shown how to enter and to my room. The rooms are keyless and work with a unique code which I thought was a fantastic idea and made for an easy check in & out. My room was very clean, had all the amenities I needed, the bedding was super comfortable and the shower was incredible! I chose the hotel because it was a short taxi to my work location. The room instructions had a number for a local cab company which I used a few times (Dragon). The Crofts Hotel/Pub appeared to be undergoing some renovations on the exterior but this did not hinder my stay at all. People were very helpful and kind in the area.

The pictures suggested that the location had food on site which is always convenient for me and something I look for. Upon arrival this was not the case, but there were lots of options just a 5mins walk away which were well directed to me by the staff.
