Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter Area

The hotel was very nice and reasonably priced for downtown New Orleans. I always felt safe. Breakfast was well-stocked and on time. Better than most free hotel breakfasts. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. I really have no complaints about this hotel; and would stay there again. Within walking distance to (1-2 miles....) to convention center and the French Quarter.

Parking as usual is expensive in cities. There was plenty of convenient covered and open parking within one block. That added about $30/day to the expense. It would have been nice to have some hotel-subsidized parking option available. They do offer Valet parking, but this was over $40/day and no better than self-parking IMO.

The location was great. It was a short walk to the Bourbon street and the French Corner. The room was spacious with comfortable bed. Shower was nice and the water was so warm and relaxing. Breakfast was good too.

The parking was valet parking and it was expensive. We were there for less than 24 hours and they told us that no matter what we have to pay for 24 hour fee for the parking. The view from our hotel room was in to a building wall. It was very dark even in the morning. Just heads up for people who expect to have some view.

Room was very comfy with a very good view. All the features of the room accommodated every area of my stay that gave a home away from home feel, The location was perfect and accessible to most everything within walking distance, Breakfast is a very nice setup with lots of options to cater to your diet or a hearty fulfillment.

The timing for the breakfast servings wasn't updated. Front Desk should make guest aware of this upon arrival along with times being updated on website and throughout hotel. Bar/Restaurant wasn't opened and wasn't mentioned on website and parking fees along with options should be mentioned prior to guest arrival.

The breakfast was fine and the servers were great in providing everything that was asked of them, but would have liked having the buffet-style of breakfast.

This was my first visit to New Orleans and so we did not know the area that well. It would have been nice if the hotel had a directory listing or map of the area that shows restaurants and unique sites in the area.

It was clean, there was an ice room on my floor (and I think every floor), breakfast every day and there was a good selection of cold food, hot food, cereal and juice, they have a wheelchair ramp, big TV and room, very spacious, had a coffee maker and safe, also had a big shower.

Hopefully in the future the hot food is more than just eggs. Lift was a bit bumpy but it was fast and in good condition

Quick check in/out. Friendly staff, could leave there luggage after check out and pick up later. Good location close to French Quarter, WW II museum etc. Comfy bed, microwave and the fridge in the room, good size room-had a little couch. nice bathroom, spacious, big shower. Perhaps would stay there again.

A little disappointed with a breakfast. Understand post covid rules/situation but still.. Had a breakfast sandwich, oats and cereals, yogurt, danish and muffins. Room and the bathroom could be cleaned a little but better - as always any hotel. Only one elevator worked.

Breakfast was good and offered a good variety, but no Beignets? It's New Orleans! Coffee was absolutely the best we had anywhere on the trip, bar none! I told the breakfast lady I didn't know what she was doing to the coffee, but keep it up. She kept things well stocked and was always cleaning things off. Your desk clerks, checking in and out, were friendly and helpful. Hotel is beautiful and nice and clean. We felt safe in the clean room we had booked, and it was clean and very welcoming. Thank you for a great stay! We did note to the desk clerk that the shower door leaked all over the floor, but we had put towels down so it wouldn't hurt the floor. Looked like no caulking under the stationary part of the shower by the shower head. We hope to see you again in March! We traveled by Amtrak.

No Beignets on the breakfast bar. I was really hoping for some, as I'd never tried them before. Maybe next time!

Bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom were very roomy. TV was large. Location worked well.

The breakfast was the worst I've had. The sandwiches were not edible. I tried both kinds. If you wanted cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs or a banana you were set. Coffee was good, but juice machine did not work. They just need different brand of sandwiches and either fill the juice machine or fix it. WIFI wasn't good. TV kept buffering when we attempted to stream a movie.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Valet parking service was easy and efficient. The room was large, beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very clean with nice spacious glass-door shower. Complimentary breakfast was nice to have (yummy egg sandwiches, delicious quiches, a good selection of fruit & oatmeals/cereals). Overall, quite satisfied.

The staff was very friendly upon arrival. Because of COVID we found out once we checked in that there would be no housekeeping of the room during our stay. That was ok but we were staying for 3 nights and only had one small shampoo and conditioner in the room when we got in there. Luckily I had brought my own. We had a family of 4 and there were only 3 towels. Luckily, I called to the front desk and they had someone bring us up more. Also lucky that we had a trash can near the elevator so that we could at least dump our trash during our stay. Not something you plan for on vacation BUT because of covid it is what it is. Parking is a little pricy but we know that's what it is like at any downtown location. The "to-go" breakfast was really great. They had lots of choices for you and everything we ate was good. Appreciated how sweet and friendly the staff was too. And they had no problem bagging it up so I could take up to my sleepy teenagers! : )

Parking is a pain because it's pricey and only valet. When we checked out we needed to have our car by 9 am so we called down to request it at 8:30 am. We were all in the lobby waiting to load and get to a reserved tour south of the city. 9 am and still no car. Hubby had to ask and they called again and said they had no record of a request to get that car. Luckily they were able to get our car to us by 9:20 and we speed to our tour and got there right on time.
