Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown/Center City

Staff was super nice - everyone said Hi and we felt like everyone we saw liked working there - sometimes you can tell when a place is just not a great place to work but I didn't get that feeling at all. Breakfast was good - lots to choose from and never seemed to run out of anything! And the location was perfect! So many wonderful restaurants and shops. Walking distance from lots of historic places! Was really convenient to everything!

The room was pretty small - I hit my head on the TV several times even though we had pushed it against the wall as much as it could be pushed back.

Location, Microwave and Fridge in room, free breakfast, wonderful staff, reasonably priced, the absolute best room darkening shades in any hotel I have ever stayed in! (With the shades drawn closed the room was very near pitch black even in the daytime)..

The room was a little on the small side. And, it was definitely not an appropriate size for them to have squeezed in a king size bed in there... Had they put a queen or even a full the room would had looked more spacious. And wouldnt have felt so cramped. Also the mini-desk in room was too small to be usable.

The room was well sized, and the beds were comfortable. There was a roomy walk-in shower with good drainage, a good-sized mirror as well as a magnifying mirror. The room included a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker. Attractive shades were easy to pull up or down, depending on one’s need for privacy. A breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room, and while the hot food wasn’t very good, they provided pretty good coffee, yogurt, bread for toast, and fruit. The hotel is located in a residential area, and it was fun to walk around and see the life of the neighborhood, which also had some nice, low-key restaurants. It was a 9 or 10 minute walk to public transportation on Market St, which took you to all the places you were likely to go to on a sightseeing trip in Philadelphia.

The bathroom had a pocket door, which is a sound idea for space-saving, but the door didn’t function well. If you didn’t lock it, it slid open, probably because the room was on a slant, and the lock didn’t function properly. it was also noisy. The wi-fi was weak. But the worst part of the room was the configuration of the lights. Each of the two queen beds had lights: that was the good news. The bad news was that these lights were controld bel one switch, which also turned on an overhead light that was glaring.

The location was spectacular, near all the major attractions Philly has to offer and is well connected to several Septa lines. The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic and super friendly and went out of their way to make my long stay super comfortable.

Breakfast could have been better, as a vegetarian, the premade breakfast bagels were limited in options as most had sausage or bacon in them. Finding a savory vegetarian bagel was a hit or a miss. I also didn’t like how thin the walls were, some guests are super loud and vocal when intimate, it felt like we were sharing a room rather than them being down the hall.

clean, comfortable beds, loved walk in shower, also the attached restaurant was very contemporary/elegant and the food, delicious..also room service was the best!! The hotel was very clean and had a fresh smell even on the 11th floor we stayed on!!

2 things I didn’t like was the fee for Valet pkg…I used Booking.com to make my reservation and it stated daily valet from $18-34 a night, the actual charge was $54/night….that’s very steep especially when there’s limited pkg in the area. The other dislike was our room was kind of cramped fitting to stay for a week. The amenities were fine but really small for a stay with 2 people and for a week long. It was hard passing by the beds and wall that TV hung on.

Location was great. Rooms were well equipped. There was a ln adequate breakfast included - though simple, just enough like you’d have at home, so you don’t feel like over eating. Though the rooms were small, they were comfortable enough.

Room layout added to it feeling small. The wardrobe could be placed differently and that would open up the room much better. Breakfast ended at 9am, most breakfasts end at 10.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this hotel. The room was charming and quaint. The bathroom was huge with a fabulous shower. The staff at the front desk and the valet service were extremely courteous and always eager to assist. The hotel is located in a wonderful section of Philly with plenty of great restaurants, bars/clubs and shopping all within walking distance. I will definitely stay here whenever I’m back in Philly!

Zero complaints!

The hotel staff, from desk clerks to housekeeping, were all friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast bar offered delicious food and beverages. The hotel is located within walking distance of downtown and the historic district.

The room was small but cozy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and would stay again. Enjoyed the view from my room. The breakfast was good, and the location was great to all the attractions.

When leaving the room for the day, put do not disturb sign on the door, but for some reason, the room got cleaned anyway which is ok except we had 14.00 dollars go missing and the pillow cases on the pillows we brought disappeared.

Great location. Room was very small but thoughtfully appointed.

Toilet clogged before we arrived. Went out for the evening and asked the front desk attendant to address it while we were gone. He agreed to but didn’t so we had to wait until the next morning, after 8am, for the engineer to arrive and fix the problem.
