Everything about the hotel was excellent.

On 3/18/23 in the morning when we were checking out. The young lady at the front desk; in front of her peers treated me as if I did not pay for my room upon check in. I also advised that the hotel had given us a room credit to use. We opted for a wonderful breakfast. She told me I was lucky I told her that and proceeded to make me feel like I was doing something wrong. The gentleman behind the desk with her checked the computer and advised that I already paid. I am not sure what she thought of me. But I can assure you, we had no issues paying and she needs to be trained. We were both minorities; I am sure some unconscious bias lives inside her and it needs to be checked. I will be calling the hotel to talk about this experience and being made to feel less than.

Building is lovely and we were very impressed with the friendliness of staff. Beds were wonderful. Valet parking went very smoothly.

The ice machine on our floor (20th) did not work and we tried to call housekeeping for some ice - had problem getting the phone to work, but finally got an operator who said she would send some ice. We waited approximately 45 minutes with no ice arrival - finally called to cancel the request and operator seemed surprised that it had not been delivered.

The 1908 Bank Building was stunning in terms of architecture. Bar staff were excellent. Good pillows, comfy bed and great view.

Room wasn't exactly grand and with only one armchair...the other person has to stand or lie on the bed. Once you leave the grand facade, the room tower is all a little bit tired, with lifts that squeak. Aside from a bottle of water, everything else in the room is offered at a high price. They can't do much about Philadelphia but within two minutes of leaving the hotel you're in the remnants of what once was a great City but everything is now boarded up and for sale and it's sadly awash with homelessness, beggars and people seriously in need of mental health care.

facility was lovely, staff was courteous and helpful, seemed to like their jobs- unusual for today’s hotel staff.

towels were scratchy and light, seems like their sharing supplies and laundry with Marriott facilities across the board. usually bedding and toweling is finer in hotels in this price range.

great location. Friendly and professional staff. From front desk, concierge, valet, house keeping, to ladies in the club lounge, all staff members were amazing.

It would be much more comfortable and easy to serve ourselves in the club lounge. The ladies were exceptional, as was the chef who came to make eggs in the morning, however, it is an intimate setting and to have to rely on someone to bring you everything is a bit much.

Iconic old bank converted to a great lobby. In the night this converts into a lively bar space. Location of the hotel is great and within walkable distance to all the historic places. Rooms are big and comfortable.

Location and staff

Too expensive and our room was not ready at checkin. Second time this has happened at a Ritz this trip and wont stay at one again because of it.

Location and staff were excellent.

First experience at check was a dead bug/cockroach on the marble floor. One of the towels in our room had large holes. Looked like it should have been thrown away. It was clean but ragged.
