Nice place, obviously just renovated. Alle the amenities one would expect at a decent location. The beach and al lot of reastaurants are within easy walking distance. Beach chairs are availanble in the room and a hose to clean them is located just outside the door.

The hotel is not staffed, all contacts are via email and/or phone. While this may work fine for domestic tourists, it can prove challenging for foreign visitors. Even with an international data plan, it was not always easy to get specific information. Also, the sheer volume of (automated) emails is not helpful. Due to a smal error the door lock code was not included in our initial booking confirmation. It took quite a bit of time, a phone call and serieus shifting through the virtual mountain of emails to obtain the much needed info.

This was definitely one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in! The room was designed so freaking cute. Super clean and spacious, large walk in shower, and nice appliances. I love that each room has its own parking spot too. And the staff were always incredibly fast at responding to my messages, even on Christmas Day! Thanks guys! Highly recommend 10/10

The only thing that I didn't like was that when I arrived, the mini split was set to air conditioning and not heat. And it was below freezing outside and took me quite awhile to figure out how to change the setting to heat. No biggie though, eventually I figured it out and I'm sure the owners would've helped me quickly with my issue if I had called.

The Hotel Folly met all of our expectations! Clean, comfortable and way better than your average hotel. It is obvious that the owners care deeply for this property. We were a little bummed that we couldn't find anything closer to the beach for our last minute vacation, BUT, it's only a 10 minute stroll to the beach and we really enjoyed the walk down the center st strip each time. Plenty to look at while your walking. 100% would stay again and recommend to others.

The room was perfect for the two of us. It was close enough to restaurants and the beach that we could walk and not worry about finding/paying for parking. The water pressure was perfect! having a full sized fridge was a nice surprise.

the only thing I had issue with (and it wasn’t that big of a deal but for light sleepers it would be an issue) was the inch wide gap between the top curtains and bottom curtains at night. when cars came over the bridge, headlights flashed in your face if you were facing the windows.

I loved the convenient way of “checking in.” It was also in a very good location. The kitchenette was cute and served it’s purpose. The shower was awesome! They pretty much thought of everything to make this the most convenient and comfortable stay all while being basically in the heart of Folly, and it was only 5 minutes from the public access to the beach. Will definitely be coming back to stay again!!

I loved everything! They were still renovating a little on the lower level of the hotel, being I was on the second floor it was very easy to hear everything but we understood that people still have jobs to do, was not a deal breaker, this too shall pass and I can’t wait to see what they were working on. One and only suggestion, definitely need blinds AND curtains on all windows in bedroom, that beautiful beach sun was coming through very early in the morning. Again, not a deal breaker.

PROS: The rooms are all newly remodeled with modern, gorgeous bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and having a kitchen really came in handy (mostly for the fridge!). It has a very hippie / bohemian feel that you have to see to understand, but it is unique and is really fun. We were able to walk to the beach in about 7 or 8 minutes, a little less to the shops and restaurants, so thought the location was great, especially when compared to the prices of places closer in. LOVE the no hassle check in, with the code on the door, you just go straight to the room. There is no "lobby" or anyone on staff there, so more like a condo in that regard, but when I had a question I emailed the person and got a very quick response.

CONS: If you have mobility issues, it could be tough as there is no elevator (and 4 floors). There is a wheelchair lift to the second floor where rooms are handicap accessible, but if you just have trouble walking you may want to make sure you are on a lower floor. And the only thing I noticed that I was a LITTLE disappointed in is, if you stay in one of the middle rooms all of the windows are like little square portholes that are about 6 feet high. I'm 5'6" and had to stand on my toes to see even the bottom few inches out of the window, so while the views are probably great, all I could see was sky and a really pretty magnolia tree. Didn't impact the stay, just wanted people to know when they advertise "views" that isn't exactly true for middle rooms.

I loved the decor and the openness of the room. Location was fantastic and walking distance to all the great spots to eat.

We did not have the linens for the pull out as requested but we brought some just in case. There could have been an extra blanket too for the primary bed. We may have missed the deadline to request sheets though so that could have been on us.

Seemingly clean. Loved the handicap shower. Location was very good. Some did get back to me in a timely fashion when I needed it. Loved the refrig/kitchenette...and having ice already made when we got there.

Morning sun came directly thru a window that had no covering. Had to block it w/ a pillow. Lots of foot noise above us. I am not crazy about having no staff on site. I got an onslaught of emails immediately after booking the room, related to the rental. That should be condensed big-time.

The room was big ,cool decor, and the beach chairs for use was a nice touch. We loved the balcony, and the location is just over the bridge at the boat dock and across from a park.

Negatives would that the bedspread was flimsy and there was no blanket. There is no blanket for the couch or bed. Trivial as that may seem, I would have brought one from home.

New, clean and contemporary.

Miss information regarding type of coffee pot to prepare for. Was told a regular pot not a single serve. The room had a single serve pot with no regular pods in the room. Emailed and called and was told that they would bring regular pods and leave them which never happened. Texted again with no reply to the text. Never heard from anyone again. Ended up going and getting what we needed.
