we love the location. it’s close to the Folly Pier, to the main streets with restaurants and shopping.

The biggest issue was the elevators. one didn’t work and the other was slow and it sometimes would get stuck on a floor. it made a loud sound as the doors were closing. we just dreaded taking the elevator, but had to since we were on the 7th floor.

Hayden was the best helping us get our baggage to our room and getting us settled. Loved his attitude and hospitality!! Also the food and beverage staff were great and always helpful in every way. The ladies that cleaned the common areas did an excellent job. Very impressed with how clean everything was!

Front desk people were a bit grumpy ...not as friendly. A guy from housekeeping was knocking on our door and yelling out that it was time to check out...it was only 930 am! We were up and packing.anyway...he was rude.The rest of the housekeeping staff were great and kept the common areas very clean. Our TV and phone did not work....we were told that lighting had damaged them. Overall, we had a great time!

The bellman are exceptional 👌. Joe and Jeff. Starbucks on property makes it nice. The Blu bar staff were efficient friendly. Music was really a nice way to get out of the sun and enjoy a couple frozen Daiquiri. The strawberry and mango rum Daiquiri was to die for. Loved the Reggae music. Super Reggae Man. Hotel is right on the beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas available. Hotel is also adjacent to the new pier. Nice place to sit and eat breakfast. Bring your own if you are not a breakfast person. Within walking distance of at least 12 famous restaurants- I say famous because of Bill Noel who writes Folly Beach murder mysteries. I liked a lot!

Wooden floors! They make a lot of noise from the people above. Try to get on the 7th floor where no one is scraping chairs across floor. Scuff marks on walls. Table lamp was on its last leg. Needs upgrading. Spent 5 minutes trying to turn it off. Overall I could see an improvement over the last few times I have been there. Can't wait to get back to my Happy Place next month.

Waking up to seeing the ocean every morning is like heaven, staff was very friendly and accommodating, the in-house restaurant, Blu was very good, hotel is dog- friendly which allowed us to bring our little Blanco 💙 , nice pool

The pool is open until 10p so the noise level can be high if you are looking for an early night's sleep (we were on the 4th floor out of 8 floors), the linens on the bed were thin and a bit rough....when we were there, there were a few nights in the upper 30's and no extra blankets in the room, room was out of bar soap for a few days due to delayed deliveries but they supplied extra body wash, definitely needed more full size towels as there were 3 of us but only 2 full size towels, phone in room was non-functioning

The location of the hotel was terrific. I loved the decor of the lobby, it was so beautiful. We ate lunch at the Blu Bar and Grill in the lobby. The steak tacos with the fresh fruit was delicious. The coffee from the coffee shop which serves Starbucks was perfect, hit the spot.

The room needed some upkeep. There was blue tape on the bottom of one of the walls. There was one picture that was missing next to my bed. You could see bc there were nails on the wall for it. In addition, there were marks on the counter of the unit below the tv. The shampoo and the shower gel were ridiculously loose. We were able to get other ones from the front desk. We were disappointed that the terrace wasn't really for sitting out.

Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Great view. Beach was only steps away. Food in the restaurant was very good. Hot. Affordable. Unfortunately, I was only able to stay one day because I was headed to Florida. Would definitely come back. The day I came they had opened the pier up that day(which was ahead of schedule), I love to fish, so would come back to fish from the pier and enjoy the sites. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

When I was checking out there was an employee at checkout area that had to be on some type of controlled substance. She was speaking loud, playing loud music in the lobby from her phone(it was around 430 in the morning), overly friendly (kept hugging me)... just very off and strange. The other lady at the desk was an older lady, she was very nice, enjoyable, and "normal".

The staff was very pleasant and accommodating to all questions and request. The bell hops very friendly and when asked questions was very knowledgeable about the area. Everyone was very patient considering only one elevator was working. All my request were met but one, and we were very satisfied with our short stay at the Tides

For the price of the hotel room and so many people requesting a microwave the tides could afford a microwave for every room. I had requested a Microwave 1 week before we arrived and also 2 days before we arrived. Also our bathtub would not drain so I had to unscrew the drain stopper and pull out several pieces of plastic grocery bags from the drain. After that was taken care of the trip was superb.

Breakfast was ok. Not enough on the menu.

The price. Way to expensive. We have stayed in your hotel for years when it started as Holiday Inn. There is no reason why you raised the cost. I believe that Folly was so much better 30 years ago. Family friendly. I don’t if we go back to Folly. It’s becoming a tourist trap. We use to stay in a beach house when they were affordable.

Room very clean and comfortable with amazing view of beach pool area and the pier. The staff was exceptional with genuine kindness, care, consideration, knowledge of area, and great sense of humor. Very helpful but not in an over bearing way. Parking great and included. Heated pool and pool area very spacious and looked right out to the ocean. Bar and meal choices even room service very comparable and convenient.

No balcony furniture. No coffee thermos or containers for room service.

Staff from pulling up at the front door to the front desk staff and wait staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful, especially Joe at the front door. He was beyond helpful and gave us plenty of great information of Folly Beach and the Tides property.

The room was very good, but need new mattresses. The springs in both beds were noisy and I could feel them as I rolled during the night. There were many dogs who were quite loud at night and first thing in hte morning.
