Hotel de L'Universite

The hotel exceeded my expectations! Before that, I stayed there many years ago in a small single room overlooking the courtyard, at the atelier of a "fashion house". I really wanted to come back. This time the room had a veranda. Very clean and modern. The veranda had a view of the Eiffel Tower. It is quiet in the very "heart" of Paris. The staff is wonderful! They responded very quickly and carefully to small requests. Special thanks to Nicolet, who hosted us!

The location was perfect for the outings we planned. There were lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. Metro station, St. Germaine, was very close to hotel. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and front desk was patient with our French and very eager and helpful to answer our questions! The beds were comfortable and our room was spacious, 2 twins. Breakfast was served every morning, not complimentary. Hotel was decorated nicely for Christmas and gave off an old charm feel. Would definitely stay there again when we return!

I stayed at the hotel as my usual accomodation was booked out. I was so pleasantly surprised at this establishment. First of all the staff, from front of house to the cleaners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would describe the room size as medium for Paris hotels. I was able to easily fit my suitcase, there was a wardrobe for my clothes, a mini fridge and a desk I could work at as well as a double bed. I've always found the bathrooms in Paris small but this one I could fit comfortably in and the shower was hot with good pressure. I had breakfast every morning (basket of French bread) with a cup of tea and was so full I didn't need to eat until afternoon. I did ask for an iron from reception and was given one straight away. The hotel was easy to get to (5 minutes walk from Rue du Bac or Saint-Germain-des-Prés) in a safe neighbourhood making it a pleasure to get around Paris. It's not the flashiest hotel, but this humble place is somewhere I felt so comfortable in.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel, then it probably wouldn't be this one. The elevator would only fit one person (I'd be squished getting in with more than one!) Otherwise there's the wide stairs.

It was our second time at Hotel Universite and we love it. It's in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres, easily walkable to the major attractions and restaurants. The neighborhood is totally safe and chic. The rooms are comfy. The staff is great, especially Nicoletta at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, she deserves a raise! Thank you so much for this great stay!

The standard room that we originally booked was right on top of the staircase, so we thought it could be noisy, but we asked if they had another room available and they were so kind to change it to another one.

The staff were great! Thomas was wonderful and very helpful. Very easy to communicate as his English was very good. Even prior to our stay any questions we had were answered promptly. Thomas organized pick up from the airport which made things very easy. Our room was huge, plenty of space and the location was close to many attractions, so easy to walk to. Small hotel, but we loved our stay there. Would definitely go back again. Special mention to Lepa, who always greeted us with a smile. Her English wasn’t good, and our French was very rusty, however we discovered on our last day that we could actually speak to one another in a different language! Wish we had known earlier. Thank you for a great stay!

Everything!! The location is 10/10, the room was fantastic. We had the top floor room with a lovely terrace and Thomas was amazing at helping us with all we needed. He also makes amazing cocktails!!

Everything was great. However, the air con in the room was malfunctioning. It didn’t cool the room enough even while keeping at the lowest temperature. Thankfully, the weather wasn’t too hot and due to which we kept forgetting to ask them to check on it. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and we will definitely come back again next year

Staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk staff spoke English. Breakfast served in room was beautiful and delicious. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day. Great location. Room was very quaint, very European. Loved it. Close walk to the seine, musee d’orsay, the Louvre and notre dame. We even walked to the Eiffel Tower.

Very noisy at night with street traffic and the walls were very thin. I wore earplugs to sleep and I slept very well. Elevator is tiny but there are only four floors so multiple trips was not a big deal

Very nice hotel with all necessary properties. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable to recover from a long day of work (or walking around Paris). Breakfast was served to me in my room, as requested, and at the requested time. Correct breakfast choice Very good location in a very nice neighborhood.

location in a quiet district with art galleries and antique dealers. easy walking distance to everything: the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Musee d’Orsay, batobus station, Le Marais, Tuilleries, etc. loved the penthouse with the balcony and alcove area with sofa bed for 3rd occupancy. most of all, front desk staff, Thomas was war, welcoming, helpful and eager to please. He’s a life saver

bees that kept invading our balcony whenever we brought food out there. lack of privacy in the shower/tub- glass panel could use a privacy film. I hung a shawl which took care of that

The hotel is situated in a quiet street with many options of restaurants , supermarkets and pharmacy a few minutes walk. Very comfortable, the highlight is the kindness and prestivity of the staff, everyone strives to help and speak in English too. The breakfast is quite full and the the responsible employee quite kind. The hotel despite the staircase has an elevator, small but comfortable even for those who have claustrophobia like me. The rooms with a good size, clean, comfortable beds, we stayed in two rooms and one of them with an extra bed. The large bathrooms with hot water and bathtub..

We requested in the booking the rooms nearby but we stayed on different floor .We were informed that due to the request of the room with extra bed was not possible for them to be neighbors
