Hotel d'Angleterre

Arrived early to leave our bags and enjoy all that Paris offers. Not only were our bags taken care of, we were offered to join them for their breakfast buffet that morning. The hotel staff were very kind and this delicious breakfast was an unexpected treat. When we returned to check in later that afternoon, our bags were in a beautiful and large room, huge by Paris standards. There was also a quiet courtyard with plenty of tables to relax in the sun or shade if you preferred. The hotel is in a great location in the 6th arrondissement.

It was all good.

The hotel's staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast and chambermaid workers were conscientious and pleasant. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Our room was the largest I've had in Europe, and, unbelievably, included two -- two -- comfortable arm chairs. The neighborhood is near many attractions and dining options.

We needed neither heating nor cooling, but in the past I've found European air conditioning to be lacking. In-room refrigerators would be nice. In the 40 years I've been visiting Europe, prices have increased dramatically. It's hard for an old man to call it value, except, well, it is the heart of a great city.

Great location, good sized room. The continental breakfast was adequate with our always able to find a table even though the room was small. The hours were great 7:30 to 11. The front staff were very helpful when we asked questions.

I didn't like that the bathroom was a tub with a nozzle to use. I would have preferred a tub with a shower though the bathroom was large. Not a real major issue but some variety with the continental breakfast would be great. we stayed 7 days and the choices become a little boring by dat 6 and 7.

I had a great stay at this hotel. Firstly, the location is fantastic, just around the corner from the Louvre and the Orsay Museum. There's also lots of good food and shops nearby. The room was big, clean, and quiet, which was super nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful too, making me feel right at home. The hotel also had good facilities and a beautiful garden to relax in. All in all, a top spot for a city break. Loved it!

The lovely hotel is on a street not close to the main road. The streets around the hotel are beautiful, and the neighbourhood in which it is located is safe. The hotel staff are very polite and welcoming. The rooms are rather old-fashioned inside, but clean, and the rooms are of an OK size. Also, the hotel bathroom was very satisfactory with renovated decoration. And there are two big floor-to-ceiling Windows that you can open to look out at the street. It's beautiful. The hotel's garden was lovely, and having breakfast there was a pleasant start to the day. I was also pleased with the location, a short walk to the Louvre or a half hour or so walk to the Paris Tower, with plenty of restaurants and street scenes to enjoy along the way. All in all, a great hotel for the money!

The only downside might be that they don't have air conditioning. We were there in the summer, but the temperature was ok on those days, and we knew this information before we booked, so it wasn't a problem for us. The hotel is equipped with fans, and it is still possible to sleep at night if you leave the windows open.

the location is great! we had a deluxe room with a wonderful size bathroom, closet and living area : in 5 star hotels they call this Apartment! so, the potential is great here , but…

the Hotel needs an update: no-one can imagine a hotel room in Paris in 2022 ( with global warming at this speed) without Air Conditioning. it is a shame to let this hotel go without some proper other upgrades: the hair dryer should go to a museum and be changed with high quality products, the flowers at the windows are not well maintained, the “ flowers” in the interior are all dust collectors- made from plastic.

The room was very beautiful and comfortable. The location was incredible - just a couple of minutes’ walk from Musée D’Orsay. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, although I wish it was a bit more consistent (some days there was no bread).

The cleaning service was a bit inconsistent, and there were some days when we didn’t have certain towels and had to wait a day to get shampoo.

We loved the hotel. We were given the Hemingway room which was a fun surprise. Opening the window/doors and looking out on the street below felt very Parisienne. The room felt large, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was hot! The exposed beams on the ceiling were beautiful as were the window boxes. In the morning, we really enjoyed the extensive breakfast and coffee in the courtyard. Very close to the Metro and a short walk to the Louvre. Surrounded by restaurants. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was friendly and happy.

There was quite a bit of noise out on the street all night (motorcycles, garbage trucks, people talking). We loved having the doors open though. We are New Yorkers and are used to street noise, but it was fairly loud. If you need quiet you may want a room facing the back.

We loved the courtyard garden, so lovely to sit in, we had breakfast in the garden every morning, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

We had to ask repeatedly for amenities to be left in our room, ie shampoo, conditioner, wash gel, etc. We would have liked a top sheet, as it was very hot, although this may have been provided if we had asked.
