Hôtel De Venise

Great location for train travellers as it is close to Gare du Lyon and Austerlitz. It is a quiet neighbourhood and well connected to public transportation, but not so much a great location for food per se or site seeing in this actual area. All the staff we spoke to were exceptionally helpful, friendly and spoke English.

it is a tight fit room for 2 adults and 2 kids ( sofa bed) although at Paris rates, no complaints from me. for 2 adults it would be more than enough. As we really only slept here 1 night it was certainly not relevant, but for people who want a view, you may want to check what room you are getting as we didn't have one.

The location is very convenient; there are many small supermarkets, a pharmacy, and, most importantly, a railway station nearby. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are clean – I inspected all surfaces with a UV flashlight, and found no stains.

Frankly, apart from one axial screw missing from the bathroom mirror, making it balance precariously on one remaining screw, I could not find anything wrong with this place. Maybe the door key card is a tad too flimsy and might have cracks in the plastic, but its design is so non-orthodox, it provides ‘security by obscurity’.

It's a small, nice and clean room, perfect for a couple. If you come to Paris to explore, you have my recommendation to book this place. It's super close to the metro. Reception is open 24/7 and guy at the reception (don't remember the name, he has glasses) who welcome us and work there was pleasant, super nice and friendly, he even give us a few tips how to use metro and where to go around Paris. Great value, because it's Paris and everything is very expressive.

Staff exceptionally good--I came in the morning to ask if I could leave my luggage for a few hours before coming back in the afternoon to check in, and they allowed me to check in a few hours early! Much appreciated! Staff also very nice during other interactions. Great location, easy to access from la Gare de Lyon, well-connected to the metro.

The only serious complaint I have is that the safe in the room was very small and also detached, so hypothetical burglars would be able to easily just take the whole safe away. It seems pointless to have a safe like that. Not an issue if you don't have valuables to store. Also, the room was reasonably quiet most of the time, but could have been insulated a bit better from the other rooms in terms of noise (the bed shaking from another room was quite audible).

The room was actually fairly spacious for a Paris hotel room. There was an actual closet for storage or hanging clothes. The bathroom was roomy and had nice tile and fixtures. The furnishings were basic, but the bed was comfortable, and there were extra pillows and blanket in the closet. The hotel was close to many restaurants and shops, as well as the Gar de Lyon train station. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and gave restaurant recommendations and arranged a taxi to the airport for us.

Most of the hotel spaces seem like they have been renovated, with the exception of the hallways outside the rooms. So it gave a little bit of a sense of disconnect, but it was more quirky than depressing. The shower was a little tight, and the fixtures to hold soap, etc, in the shower had come off the wall, but other than that everything was great.

It's a small but comfortable room, with big enough bathroom and a wardrobe. The USB charging sockets on the bedside lamps are a practical addition. The breakfast was plenty and delicious. The staff was great - helpful, accomodating, charming, during our whole stay. The metro line 1 (and 8) is at 5 minute walking distance. There're lots of restaurants and cafés nearby. In the room (at least in the ones facing the yard) it's quiet and peaceful, even with the window open.

There's no soundproofing in the building, you hear everything which happens within about two floors. We couldn't figure out how to set the air conditioning for a not-frosting way of working (set at 26°C it still blew arctic winds), so we used that only for short times.

The mattresses were both great! And the pillows and bed-linen all super clean and good quality. The bathroom was great, very clean and everything working perfectly. TV was working fine and cupboard had a useful safe. Location was great - not far from Gare du Lyon and lots of great food options all around for any kind of meal. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and very efficient. Thought my price for two adults for two nights was very fair for Paris.

Lack of tea and coffee

What an amazing find! Me and my wife traveled to Europe for the first time, Paris being the first city on our itinerary. This hotel exceeded our expectations! It was close to a metro station, felt like a safe neighborhood, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the café across the street, picking up a croissant almost every morning before adventuring around Paris. The room and bathroom were clean and the beds were comfortable - much needed after walking around all day.

Comfortable, clean, great location and helpful, friendly staff! Rooms are basic but clean and thats really all you need plus a warm welcome is worth its weight! Great base to stay, would absolutely return. Close to Gare de Lyon, Accor arena and close to Metro to get you anywhere. Lovely eat in boulangerie across the road too

Would be nice to have a kettle in the room but it got us up and out in the morning for our caffeine fix instead which is not a bad thing
