Avenue Hotel

The hotel was adorable. We arrived very late at night, even later than expected but they were still waiting for us (a group of 7, 4 separate rooms) and checked us in very efficiently. Although breakfast was not included, they had what we decided was a wonderful buffet breakfast for a very reasonable price of 14 Euro, including as much delicious coffee, prepared exactly as you like, fresh squeezed juice and prosecco. The service was always with a smile and anything that was missing or needed to be refilled, was done so as soon as possible. The weather was nice enough to eat outside and they didn't mind that we rearranged the tables to seat 13 people. They are connected to a restaurant up the street, and offer a discount for lunch and dinner as hotel guests. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! In addition to being on a very quiet street, the hotel is so centrally located. It is within meters of fabulous shopping, a short walk to the Duomo, the Ferry Port, the bus station and one of the train stations, even a walkable distance with suitcases to the more distant train station. Numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops and most importantly GELATO, a short, safe walk, even at night. Would definitely return. Our room had a semi-private terrace attached, which we used to sit with family in the evening.

Our room could have been a tiny bit larger, with more storage room to unpack our suitcases. The shower needed either a curtain or door to prevent the water from getting the rest of the bathroom floor very wet. It was dried and cleaned each morning, but I am sure there is a way to prevent it.

The room (4) appeared large due to a very clever fitout. This enabled the room to be much more functional with everything that you need and a good use of space. The wallpaper designs gave the room a very edgy feel. However not all rooms are as good as this one.

It was very difficult for us (both over 70 Yrs) to access the hotel from the station, especially with heavy suitcases The taxis refused to take passengers who had just arrived and told us they were drop off only. We ended up walking in the intense heat to the hotel. We suggest the hotel could let guests know and perhaps arrange a shuttle service, especially as vehicle access is not available.

The hotel staff were warm and welcoming and helped me plan my trip to visit local spots of interest. The rooms are decorated by a theme of cities on Lake Como! Very cute, comfy bed and nice bathroom and decor. The breakfast buffet was really delicious and accommodating to gluten free options. At checkout, they had a goodie bag with water and chocolates, a nice touch at the end of my stay. It is in the heart of the historic district and easy walking to many great restaurants and shops! The shower doors needed repair. Other then that, it was a really great experience.

The hotel is in a very cozy spot and very comfortable inside. Carry small pieces of luggage as you need to walk through small lanes to get there. A small Carrefour is not too far away if you are looking for a store. The cold buffet breakfast has limited items but go for the warm options that you have to order - its absolutely fresh and really delicious. The best part of the hotel has to be their staff (desk/kitchen/housekeeping) who are one of the friendliest I have ever encountered. That goes a long way in brightening one's stay! The one thing that was a bit uncomfortable for my family was the glass door to the bathrooms. I think this can be easily rectified if the hotel can use window films that can be stuck on the glass. Snoring from the neighbouring room was audible through the night but we decided to let it be and didn't inform the staff.

Very welcoming, helpful & friendly staff. Both on reception, housekeeping & breakfast service. Great selection of fresh food for breakfast.

The continuously played music through loud speakers in the corridor disturbed my sleep. I thought it was the guest next door playing music at 4-6am, & I had to block it out using ear plugs. When I opened bedroom door to see where it was coming from I realised it was from loud speakers in the ceiling of the corridor! In the interests of a peaceful night’s sleep I suggest they switch the music off between 22.00-08.00hrs.

Incredibly cosy place - not just due to the Christmas deco, which is worth its own mention. Centrally located in the old city centre. Great breakfast. Fantastic in every respect.

Given its location in an area with traffic restrictions, the hotel has very limited parking facilities (2 spaces situated in a court with a narrow entrance). Public parkings (under surveillance) are however avilable for EUR 15 - 20 per night and they are in walking distance.

Staff were very friendly and very accommodating! Was very handy having staff overnight as we came back fairly late some nights but would have questions / guidance for activities for the next day.

Not much breakfast options / breakfast options were all light Luckily I was with my partner but when youre showering the other person can see you as there is a glass panel between the shower and the main room. Not ideal for family situations

The room was really well decorated and was very comfortable. The location was great and was right in the middle of town centre and close to all the main attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall it was just a great and relaxing experience.

The only thing that I can think of is that I have had better breakfast. Not saying that it was bad in any sense but could be improved specifically the quality of scrambled eggs but that could be a personal preference as well.

This place in Como is a genuine hidden gem. It's incredibly cozy, providing a quiet and clean haven. The tranquility of the surroundings makes it an ideal retreat for those seeking a peaceful stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and obliging. We forgot our charging cable for our phones and could borrow one from the reception. The room was very clean and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very attantive. We enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend it.
