DBH - Boutique Hotel Lake Como

Stunning renovation and finishes in the hotel. lovely thick large white towels, bath robes and slippers- just what I expect from this type of boutique hotel. Simple yet lovely breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Our room was on the corner first floor and had a beautiful view over the Duomo and towards the piazza. Double glazed windows meant it was very quiet. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Nothing. if I am being picky, please put some small milks in the fridge for my in room tea making.

I would mention two things that could be improved to make it feel like a 5 star hotel, the bedding is a little rough on the skin softer sheets would be nice, the breakfast is slightly poor especially if you don’t eat pork.

This hotel was amazing. I was so impressed with the room, it’s size and the bathroom. All wonderful. Breakfast was also great, good quality ingredients and a nice variety. I would highly recommend.

The bed was a little firm for me but if I was staying longer I would ask for an additional foam mattress topper and then it would be fine. I had an issue with the conditioner in the shower being empty and not realising until after I’d shampooed so it was quite irritating at the time to get out and wait for a refill. These are large bottles of product stuck to the wall so I did expect it to be full. And no apology for the inconvenience which I did expect.

we were room 1 which was right next door to the breakfast area. The doors did keep out a lot of the noise but if you’re a sensitive sleeper you’d probably find it annoying.

The location is excellent in the historic district. It would be at most a 5 minute walk to the ferry docks. Despite being next to the cathedral, the soundproofing was excellent. There were many restaurants in the neighborhood. One room was Executive Room which was a nice regular room. The other room was a Panoramic Junior Suite. This room had a small sitting room up a flight of stairs with windows on three sides looking out onto the cathedral and rooftops. That area had a small sofa, tv, and wine chiller. The bedroom area has electric controlled skylights and blinds for the skylights. Both rooms had high ceilings and good sized bathrooms with storage space around and under the sink. The shower had a shower wand and a rainfall shower head The shower head was at least 7 feet high up the wall. Water pressure was very good. The closets were adequate but too short to hang a dress but a coat was fine. By the bed were outlets that could take a variety of plugs, including US plugs. The beds were firm. Breakfast- croissants, pastries, cereals, cold meat, cheese, bread, hard boiled eggs, fresh cooked eggs, yogurt, juices, coffees, teas, and maybe more that I can’t remember.

The only negative was that the Panoramic sitting room had really weak wifi signal. All the other areas of the hotel had good wifi.

This small Boutique Hotel is perfectly located next to the Duomo. We’ve stayed for two nights in a spacious junior suite with a comfortable bed and nice interior details. The employees are very kind and helpful.
