Hotel Borgo Antico

The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was bigger than expected with a lovely view of the garden and both the bedroom and bathroom were clean and will maintained. The personalised welcome note was a lovely thought. The breakfast was continental however had lots of choices and the coffee was great! It was only 5 minutes walk to the water and 10 minutes to the ferry terminal so great location to walk everywhere.

The staff was very helpful. Roberto showed me exactly how to get to the boat dock and the ticket office on the lake. The hotel is very close to the train station which was important to me. The breakfast was excellent. There was a nice variety and everything was good. The room was very comfortable. And the bathroom seemed brand new.

This is a cute little hotel that will not break the bank. It was very close to the train station. We only had two bags so no big problems walking down the streets. It is busy during the day but dies off at night. Cute little restaurants around. The ferry was less than 15 min walk and downtown area maybe 10 min. The breakfast was perfect and we also hung out in the bar for a drink one afternoon.

Walls are pretty thin. We could hear all our neighbors business. Just keep that in mind. Would not stop me from staying here. We will book here again.

Cosy, clean and well furnished hotel in fairly quiet road. Bed and pillows were comfortable, shower ok. Breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of fresh fruit, just lacking in a few vegetables. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good restaurants in Borgo Vico especially Trattoria Pizzeria in Borgovico and All i Oli opposite, just a minute’s walk away. Also a good real ale bar. Walking distance from San Giovanni station for trains and buses.

I didn’t like the ultra violet light in the shower and noise of loud people walking past late at night when the window was open.

The staff were so welcoming and lovely to absolutely everybody. Fluent in multiple languages and always willing to help out or simply chat. The lady who helped cater the breakfast buffet in the mornings was an absolute gem, I adored her. The location of the hotel was perfection, less than a 5 minute walk from Como San Giovanni train station and less than a 10 minute walk to the ferry port (to take you to other Lake Como beauties such as Belaggio, Varenna and Menaggio)!! Overall I had such a pleasant stay and will be back next I’m in Como :)

Beautifully decorated affordable hotel in quiet location but walkable to everything - handy to station if you don’t want to schlep a suitcase far and easy access to main bus route. I did end up lost late at night after asking a bus driver to alert me to my stop which i was tracking on Google Maps - he didn’t- and i ended up stranded in the next village 4 kilomètres away at midnight - i called the hotel and the night receptionist was so compassionate and lovely- he called a taxi to come fetch me and all ended well! Awesome breakfast too!

My room ( 205) was opposite main staircase and elevator so a bit noisy from interior noise, but it didn’t bother too much

The friendliness of staff nothing was too much trouble and they were really helpful all areas were very clean and room very comfortable breakfast was excellent also it was good there was a lift

Nothing I can't really find fault some people may not like the fact that it was on a road which seemed to be a cut through but that didn't bother us at all and double glazing was very good

Property is excellent From train station to hotel is walking distance but there are 30-40 steps to go down or up so if you are carrying a big suitcase it may be challenging

Very nice hotel and room, comfortable bed, good a/c, good shower. We had nice view of garden and aquaduct in a quiet room on the first floor, Not a huge room but plenty big enough and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. Decent breakfast was a bonus and appreciated. 24hr Staff were so nice and also helpful. Location is handy for catching a train and also not far to walk into town. Street it's in looks a bit ordinary during the day but was nice at night and had places to eat and drink just nearby. Would definitely stay again.

The location of this hotel is great, perfectly situated between the town and the station. The surrounding is very quaint, and the inside of the hotel is nicely appointed and cosy. The extremely slow lift is actually a nice somewhat comedic touch. The staff is also very welcoming and kind. Overall a very good stay.

The only criticism is that the bed was a bit small, and the pillows weren't the best. We could still sleep fine, but it would be nice if the bedding setup was upgraded a bit.
