Rossio Plaza Hotel

Hotel is right in the centre of things , step out of the hotel & you are amongst restaurants , bars & 5 minutes from the water front , very handy for the metro , suggest use Baxia- Chiado metro station for hotel , much easier than Rossio Square , less cobbles & escalators in station & 2 mins left from station to hotel! Hotel has a tiny reception & a small lift that only fits 4 people , greeted with a port & pastry , lovely! Only stayed in standard room but very nice , modern & comfortable , had a room at the back with a view of the castle over the rooftops (501). Bathroom was excellent with great power shower , bed very comfortable , had 2 opening windows as well as air con, as we were at the back very quiet. Room only had a coffee machine but as we prefer tea asked for a kettle & was given on no problem at all. Our room was cleaned & tidied every single day , whole hotel was spottless. We didn't have breakfast as so many places outside the hotel but did hear guest saying it was very nice. would stay here again & recommend to anyone.

Everything was just perfect. From the hotel check in - being greeted by such lovely staff members with pastel de natas and port wine to just how amazingly clean and well equipped our room was. I slept beautifully! The location is fabulous, you have Rossio square right outside with the metro 2 minute walk with great connections, or you can just walk to Praca da Comercio in 5-10 mins and have a look around all the restaurants and shops or walk along the water front! I can’t fault anything with this hotel. If you don’t fancy the metro or walking, just use Bolt - the taxis are literally €2-€4 euros a trip and you can save your legs walking up all these hills! Book your stay here 10/10 :) :)

Perfect location, right where you need to be, especially on your first time in Lisbon. Everything is few steps away. The train station, metro, trams, buses, restaurants, iconic places, local bakeries (the coffee and pastries at the cafeteria next door are lush) and services. The staff was extremely kind, professional, welcoming and very attentive, both at the reception and breakfast. The room was spacious enough, well furnished and arranged. Bathroom was cosy, modern and functional. Cleaning services were always on top of things and the breakfast was various, well assorted and well managed. I could not recommend this hotel enough as I will probably come here again next time, especially if the post-covid craze of increasing accomodation prices in Europe calms down a bit.

Everything was great so the only comment I can note here is that some of the rooms have the unfortunate view of a wall, just opposite of their windows but it was never really a problem as once there all you care for is exploring the city and come back to rest.

everything about this property is first glass,from the moment we arrived the smell when you open the air conditioned entry,the welcoming staff with a glass of Portuguese wine & tarts,it’s such a modern hotel the air conditioned room was spotless & the view of the street & river unreal.we definitely recommend it.Rossio Plaza Lisbon you should be very proud of your staff👏👏👏5 star.

bathroom ventilation was very poor which resulted condensation on windows that made the room feel even colder. On three occasions we had no hot water when showering .. and shower head holder was broken too

great location, so central. we had a nice view of rossio plaza too. rooms were modern and comfortable

Two minor things: Saw other guests getting pastel de nata and port on check in, unfortunately we weren’t offered any. Felt the staff were not super helpful when I asked for recommendations re some tours.

The location was excellent - easy street access so you don’t need to carry luggage up hills where cars can’t go, but also right next to the uphill streets where the magic happens. We did find our room quiet, despite being close to a busy square. The breakfast was varied and delicious - very nice fresh fruit and the pastries were a bonus! The staff were very friendly and helpful - we were heading to Porto after Lisbon but there were train strikes at the time and the staff told us about the train strikes and helped us navigate buying bus tickets as the alternative. The rooms were comfortable and clean, not huge but big enough for me and my friend to have our suitcases and still feel like we had enough room, the showers had good water pressure.

There’s quite a bit of outside light at nighttime and the curtains don’t fully block it - if this may bother you I’d just bring an eye mask

The location was fantastic - so close to everything. We had a room street side (room 204) and the double glazing did a good job of blocking the road noise out at night. That said, we were right next to the breakfast room, so we did hear them setting up every morning from about 6.30am - it wasn't too bad (I put ear plugs in) but something to be mindful of when booking. All the staff were really lovely and very helpful with tips and advice and the complimentary port & custard tart were a bonus on arrival! Breakfast was also very good. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and would stay again - we will be back for sure!

The only thing that may be a bit of a drawback - because of the great location it means that it may become quite noisy. There are a lot of people around and the hotel itself is on a busy street. When the windows are closed the noise is minimal but you can still hear that you're in the heart of the city. If you want to let some fresh air in though it becomes really noisy - especially in the evenings (the air conditioning is working fine - this is just if you want to "change" the air in the room a bit).

Location was great, just off Rossio Square and along the street from Santa Justa elevator, close to lots of transport options if you want to go further afield and very walkable to most of the sights. We were in a separate building along the road from the Reception building - each building has its own breakfast rooms and we found breakfast to be good and plentiful - hot and cold options, eggs, lots of breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt and juice etc with fresh coffee. Our room looked out over a small internal courtyard but was quiet and had everything we needed, including a coffee machine. Reception staff were helpful, we booked a trip out to Sintra and Cascais etc which was great and very good value. Nice to be offered a nata and glass of port on arrival too!

The only two slight downsides where that the lift in our building was from the first floor so not ideal for people with disabilities (or a lot of luggage) although it didn't bother us too much. And, as other reviewers have mentioned. there was a strange smell in the ground floor of both buildings, like drains but I think this might be a problem of the city rather than just this hotel.
