FuramaXclusive Asoke, Bangkok

We read a few reviews about the hotel being "dated" but we didn't find that to be the case at all. The room was huge (much bigger than most standard basic hotel rooms) and very clean, with a bathtub, TV with many channels (although most were in Thai of course), and all the amenities you'd need such as in-room safe, ironing board, hairdryer, shoe polish etc. Water pressure was strong and there was plenty hot water. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we opted not to have housekeeping as we were only there for 3 nights. We also didn't use the pool, gym, or restaurant so can't comment on that. The location was definitely a HUGE plus point, less than 5 mins walk away from Sukhumvit MRT, and less than 10 mins walk away from Asok BTS and Terminal 21, connected via Metro Mall through Sukhumvit MRT, which meant that we were mostly sheltered even when it rained. There's also many restaurants and convenience stores around, a proper massage parlour next door, and of course, the Terminal 21 mall a short walk away if you need anything else. The area didn't feel unsafe and although the streets were busy, the room was very quiet in the evenings. Would definitely stay again!

There weren't many parking spots available (not that we needed it, but could be an issue for some). There was also a light switch that wasn't working in our room, but it wasn't a problem for us. The air-conditioning was also not very cold - we set it at 17oC (the lowest possible setting) to try and cool the room, but according to readings, the room was at most 24oC - not a huge issue but just something to take note of.

Location is central and convenient, 2 minutes' walk to MRT Sukhumvit and 5 to BTS Asoke. Took Airport Link to the hotel, interchanged at Makkasan and got off at MRT Sukhumvit exit 1. Traveled with 1 big luggage case and 1 hand carry case. Barrier free all the way from the airport. Unbeatable location. Room is clean and very spacious - 33 sqm - ample space, 3-seater sofa, coffee table, luggage cupboard for big luggage, full size desk, city view. Quiet - room next to elevator but couldn't hear a sound of that at all, nor any noise from other customers. Sustainable practice - cleaning the room every 3 days to save the environment means more quiet and privacy for me. Rest assured that house keeping comes every single day to replenish bottled water, coffee and towels. Wall electric sockets available - local 2-pin (flat or round), multi-standard socket, USB charging Value for money given location and room size. Even local friend said it was a great choice!!!

For those who would like to swim, it would be a let down. This doesn't bother me since I was out most of the time. I could use the fitness room if I wanted to exercise.

breakfast now leans towards keeping the Japanese happy, not the European traveller. and the pillows are horrible in my opinion, flat and hard. 6 nights of very broken sleep because of it.

Perfect location in a road full of skyscrapers, big malls and restaurants. Magnificent view from rooftop with a nice but small swimming pool. Very spacious room, fridge with provided bottles of water, good wifi, office with ethernet for working or studing, bathroom with both shower and bathtub. Very friendly stuff and ok breakfast. Metro station 3 min walk.

Gym was not good, very old and rusty. Breakfast could have more options.

It was not my first time with Furama and I can say they kept the high level of hospitality and room quality. Although I had a very nice Premier room upgrade , I can imagine the other rooms are similar in good shape. Being very close to metro MRT Sukhumvit intersection with Asok station sky train, it is very convenient to travel all around Bangkok, without the impact of road traffic. From airport Suvarnabhumi you reach the hotel in about half hour time using the airport link train up to Makassan station and change to MRT one station ride up to Sukhumvit...35THB and 17THB respectively. Plenty of good restaurants are nearby and nightlife is reachable on foot. All in all a good choice, which was definitely not the last time for me booking this hotel.

The breakfast is quite standard type, not too many choices and the most I missed, was a self brewed coffee in a modern coffee machine, which became more standard in other BKK hotels. The bed had a little bit hard mattress, no problem for me, but maybe a problem for other guests. And as last point, I was little anoyed by the loud room air conditioner.

Huge room, comfy bed, big bathroom, excellent location 5 mins walk to Sukhumvit MRT & Asok BTS station, friendly reception easy check in. There is a dining table with 2 chairs in the room, complete with cutlery & plate/bowl - good for use with delivery or take out. There is a microwave you can use at the reception area. Although they only clean the room & change the towels once every 3 nights stay, but it's good enough for us. They will give you 2 bottles of water & toilet paper everyday. Small hawker eatery next door, pizza places & 3 different 7-11, all walking distance. Walking distance to Terminal 21, with a to-die-for pizza place called PALA PIZZA ROMANO. A must try.

Breakfast was very limited & the same everyday. They provide only shampoo & shower soap, shower cap & sanitary bag. Bring your own toothbrush/toothpaste, comb & shaver.. But it's ok, better for the environment, no wastage. Overall, nothing to complain about.

The location is nice. the room is quite spacious.

Request to have a twin bed, but got 1 king bed instead. But it's still ok for us

Fantastic location. Friendly and helpful staff. I was upgraded to a room larger than the one I booked. The room was a little old, but clean and functional, with a great view.

The toilet stopped working twice during my two night stay. The flush button was stuck in the down position. I may not have understood him, but the maintenance man told me it was because the tank cover was in the wrong position, and, I think, implied that it was my fault. (I had not moved it.) Then the toilet worked for a while, but the same thing happened later. I highly doubt that this was the first time such a problem occurred. The thing that bothered me the most was that the maintenance man did not really fix the issue. Perhaps a real fix required investing money in a new part and the hotel was unwilling or unable to do that. It seems to me that the toilet is the most critical resource in a hotel room and should be better maintained.

The room was very nice and it had a nice view of the city. The location was great. It took about ten minutes to get to Terminal 21. The view from the rooftop was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was horrible - uncooked potatoes, dry and bland tasting waffles, the juice was watered down and there was no orange juice. I would not recommend the breakfast! I didn't like the fact that the rooftop was closed at 9:00 P.M. The rooms are only cleaned every three days.
