This was my second visit to the location. As before the staff were exceptional ,(thankyou David, Sharon, paula). Having been before I knew what to expect. The breakfast was included and as before tasted great. Breakfast time needs booking but I did not feel hurried by the staff , their attention to detail was fantastic. I did have one evening meal while there. It was a super dish ,[hunters chicken], tasted great and well presented. Definitely VFM. The quirkiness of the pub with its unique style and homely feel was inviting. Watch out for the stairs not suitable for disabled travellers. Although I was informed disabled access was possible for the restuarent and bar but not for overnight stays. On this second visit I stayed in room 1. More spacious than room 2 with the oak beams crossing the ceiling . All services provided as before with tea/coffee, hair dryer, fan, towels all the accessories required to give you a stay of comfort. The bed was softer with plenty of pillows to ensure a good sleep. The bulls head is certainly a great place to stay.

There is nothing not to like.

Throughout our stay staff could not do more for us, friendly and professional at all times. We booked in for an evening meal which was fantastic, the pub filled up quickly and it was a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was included and served quickly and to our individual requirements. The room and ensuite bathroom were very clean. Overall the pub was beautifully presented and very clean. We parked for free in the pub carpark.

Rooms were on the first floor and the stairs to them were a little wonky which was a characteristic of the age of the building, and this was pointed out by attentive staff. Visitors with mobility issues may find this access a little challenging. However this was not an issue for my stay.

easy parking, Pleasent, quiet village location, nice to be expected and welcomed, nice atmosphere in pub area when I walked in; already busy at 18.30, Dinner was good, but didn't have starter or dessert. Breakfast tasty, service very attentive with friendly waitress. Room comfortable, clean and relatively recently decorated with all you need. Nice touch was fridge with cold bottled water and milk

Beautiful (longest) day, but no pub garden to enjoy it in. I sat out on small patio area, which should really be better utilised and made more welcoming i.e. decent table and chairs, pergola, few flowers etc It is a proper little sun trap though. Think salmon (dinner) was microwaved, as it was ready very quickly. Would have been nice to have had it poached - sorry if I'm wrong on this. Bathroom tiles are like greased lightning in Rm 1 if you tread on them with wet feet!

Quaint period property perfectly located in a pretty village with good walks close by. National park area very close by with beautiful stately home to visit and parkland . Local town Ashby De La Zouche less than 5 miles away with lots of independent shops. The pub serves fresh home cooked food daily , lots of choice and you won’t leave hungry. Home cooked breakfast was also spot on and a hearty start to the day. Plenty of parking. We were meeting friends there for a birthday meal and nothing was too much trouble. The bar was well stocked with local beer so my husband was pleased and he said the beer was well kept. Bedrooms have a modern touch with everything you need and tastefully decorated and furnished. we stayed in No 4 which had a bath and shower, lovely quiet room and plenty of room . The staff were all so welcoming and clearly a happy team. The manager David greeted us on arrival and couldn’t have been more helpful , very careful to remind visitors that the stairs are steep , not a problem for us . A small fridge is located on the landing with extra milk and bottles of cold water for guests which is a nice thoughtful touch. David stood out for us because as a leader he really takes pride in making sure you are looked and obvious to see how well liked he is with locals dining. The restaurant was busy Friday and Saturday night which is always a good sign in any establishment. Thank you to all the Team,we will definitely recommend you.

Nothing .

On arrival I was greeted by friendly member of staff who showed me to my room. It was warm, clean and comfortable. It had tv,free wi-fi, tea and coffee with biscuits and a fridge outside the door stocked with free bottled water and milk. I then availed of a lovely evening meal and bottle wine from a well stocked wine list. In morning I had a well cooked and tasty full English with large pot of fresh coffee. Exceeded expectations and would highly recommend.

I have no negative comment to make about my overnight stay. It fulfilled all my requirements and I would definitely stay there again.

Quirky, As the saying goes don’t judge a book by it’s cover. It came as a bit of a surprise to find that in this day of all day opening that the Bulls Head actually shuts on a Sunday afternoon, but it didn’t take long for our hosts to answer the door. food was freshly cooked to order and the staff were extremely helpful The modern touches to an old building are extremely helpful usb plug sockets, spacious shower, shampoo, body wash & hand soap provided Nice size mug for your Tea/Coffee & Biscuits!!!

Staff at the Bulls Head were extremely accommodating and made us feel so welcome when we arrived. We requested early access to the room key as we were at a wedding and this was provided without any issues which we were incredibly grateful for. We had everything we needed for our stay and our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was beautiful and made to our requests. We would definitely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat if in the area.

Nothing.

Room was spotless, bed was like sleeping on a cloud, waterfall shower was devine. David was an exceptional host he went above and beyond for us. Free refrigerated water as much as you like was a lovely touch. We had a 3am checkout and breakfast sandwiches were left for us to have at the airport. Breakfast on the other 2 mornings were lovely. Loved our stay and will return when visiting family again. We stayed in a standard double which was perfect for us as we just laid our heads there. If you like a more spacious room the deluxe is definitely worth the money, the other couples ended up having to book the deluxe.

Nothing at all.

Really liked the friendly atmosphere, the landlord Dave was great and very helpful. Dinner options where a plenty and the food was great and not overpriced. Breakfast in the morning was really good, nice home cooked feel and they couldn't do enough for me. All the staff where great, room was great, clean and bed was comfy. I stay away weekly stopping in some high end hotels and I can honestly say I'll remember this little gem for years to come! I was staying for work so not sure I'll be back again however I will recommend anyone staying near Ashby to take the extra few miles and stop here.

I arrived to the Bulls Head 5 hours early! David answered the door and wasn't at all bothered I was so early. He go me checked in and showed me to my room and as I had to carry on working immediately, he popped me up a sandwich for lunch. I met a colleague for dinner in the restaurant later. I had goats cheese for starters, chicken for main and crumble for dessert. It was delicious. My colleague loved her dinner too. I had a full breakfast in the morning, which, again was lovely. I had a great dinner again the following night (burger and delicious cheesecake for dessert). The following morning, as I was leaving a bit too early for breakfast (actually, I didn't want to have to get up even earlier to sit for breakfast), David made me a breakfast sandwich to take with me. My stay was 100% relaxed (considering I was travelling with work). There was a lady there on the second evening who was absolutely lovely (I apologise for not remembering her name, as she did tell me). Greeted me as I came down. She knew all the locals and was chatting with everyone. Even the locals were friendly (as I was sitting alone). Very chatty and very relaxed. I didn't at all mind that I was there by myself.

there isn't anything I didn't like.
