Loved our stay for a weekend getaway. We booked an executive room that was very nice. Quite a few stairs to get to the room, so bear this in mind if stairs are a problem. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, large comfortable bed and quality linen. Beautiful big bathroom and amazing bath. We ate in the hotels restaurant on our arrival and the food arrived quickly and was lovely. Breakfast on our two mornings was delicious with a great selection from cereal to fully cooked breakfast with amazing black pudding! Heather made our breakfast an enjoyable experience on both mornings with her friendly, efficient and happy service! The receptionist Rossier, (I think was her name) the Spanish lady also deserves a mention, she was so helpful with information etc and very friendly towards us, nothing was too much trouble for her. We traveled to Edinburgh on the saturday from the train station, which is about a ten minute walk. We can also recommend the Indian restaurant a few doors up from the hotel, we had an amazing curry there on the Sunday night. Would stay again and recommend the hotel.

Would have liked a hair dryer in the room, this is the only thing I can be negative on about the hotel, everything else was spot on.

Many things, great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and I enjoyed eating at the restaurant. Best of all I enjoyed breakfast. The hotel had been refurbished and I would recommend highly for people with mobility issues. The rooms were spacious and sufficient storage provided. The room had Tea/Coffee making facilities. I didn’t have a car so I can’t say how good a location this is for parking. But it was a privilege to be in a short walking distance to everything I needed.

I am sorry to say that the WiFi wasn’t 100% reliable. I found it strange not to be able to find the news channels on the TV. I ended up not using the TV. I would have been happier if there was no TV in the room. I would have preferred a walk in shower instead of the bathtub which I found small and difficult to navigate. The bathtub would not be recommended for guests with mobility issues. Finally a small thing but both the mattress and pillows were too soft and I found it difficult to sleep until I got used to them.

Location was great as one of our party had to use crutches to get around. Bars and restaurants very close by. Breakfast excellent, freshly prepared and delivered by the very efficient, helpful and attentive 'Karise'. Room and bathroom were comfortable and well appointed. Staff were cheerful and helpful, especially Gillian who gave us a lot of useful advice.

Very minor points, access for our friend on crutches was closed on a couple of evenings (10.30pm ish), although the steps to the front door were not an unsurmountable problem, but on the last night when we returned after 11.00pm., the room cards didn't work on the front door and luckily the bar attendant walked past and noticed us to let us in. Single glazed windows (understandable on such an old and impressive building) allowed some road noise etc. (but not excessive).

Berwick is a small place so location should not be much of an issue, but the hotel is conveniently located near the walls and riverside with some restaurants nearby (I think I considered another similarly priced in the same area). I loved the murals in the dining room.

Though the hotel has wi-fi, I was unable to get Internet, though this made no difference in practice. On future visits it would be helpful to know weather forecast and local bus information (I don't trust bus information obtained online from home to be reliable or up to date, at least in the north-east).

The facilities were all very clean. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The location was prefect for wandering around town and exploring and was very easy to find. It was off the main road so was nice and quiet whilst still feeling that you were in the centre of town.

The music from the downstairs bar could be hear from our room. While this didn't go on late, it seemed it was fairly loud for the number of people in the bar and for midweek. The gap at the bottom of the bedroom door was quite large. This let quite a bit of light in from the corridor and meant that I had to lay some jeans across the bottom of the door. Perhaps a draft excluder on the bottom of the door would help resolve this?

Location was really good and room was very clean the breakfast were really nice big too, and the cold selection was nice, when we were there the restaurant was closed due to up grading , pity as thier food was always great, maybe next time were down x.

The only thing we had a gripe about but a tiny one was the floors in the room ,they were very slidey, so if you weren't careful you could do yourself a injury ,like my husband when he got up to go to the toilet during the night nearly did the splits lol ,maybe a couple of non slip mats or that in the wooden floor rooms . But still a brilliant stay with brilliant staff x thank-you .for a well rested break .

I booked a room for my son who travelled from London in the morning for same day wedding near Berwick. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure a room was available at the odd time he arrived for him to change etc, also helping with taxi arrangements . Everything very welcoming and comfortable including bed and a very good breakfast. Hotel is easy walking distance from the station and lovely walk by the Tweed for hangover cure the following morning before back on the train to London. Memorable happy trip.

The room was clean well decorated and equipped, it has a lift, location for long pre-breakfast walks along the river, the breakfast was plentful and very nice, The staff are helful and freindly.

After booking a table for evening dinner online whilst en route only to be told on arrival after ten hours driving that it had been cancelled due the chief being ill, resulting in us having to walking around the town late evening finding somewhere/something to eat, as it was 8pm it left only the chinese restaurant (however the food was very nice).

I had a front ground floor room which was enormous. Facing south however would not be an advantage on a hot day.Whatsmore, the room faced the road and sidewalk which made it noisey at times.

I did not like the shower which didn't have a wall mounted grab for safety. For all the mod-cons i was surprised that the shower didn't have such a simple aminity of a soap rack or hook for a towl or face flannel. Also the contruction of the shower partition left a large gap at one end which allowed shower water to splash over the lamient floor.

The location is really central. The staff are really helpful, friendly and most accommodating. We were impressed with the room which was which spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay including an iron and ironing board. The bed was really comfortable and we had a great night sleep. There was a great bar area which we enjoyed winding down in at the end of the day. The guy behind the bar was fantastic and a real asset to the hotel 😊

The drink prices at the bar are quite expensive.
