A lovely friendly welcome by Natalie. Our room was clean and also had a small fridge. We had an evening meal which was really top notch food. Breakfast set us up for the day. A lovely full English! A lovely stay in a beautiful area. Staff were so friendly. Will definitely stay again at some point.

Can’t think of anything that wasn’t to our liking.

On the day of arrival we were contacted to ask if we would like to book a table for the evening meal service as the restaurant was getting busy. Sure enough, when we arrived the place was full. We soon found out why when we had the excellent Sunday carvery. From the moment we booked in until the moment we left we were looked after in every way and staff were always checking that we had everything we needed. We were given loads of advice on the local area and one of the staff even gave us one on her spare parking discs for when we were out and about. We had breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant every day and cannot fault the quality of the food or the level of service. It was very obvious that Keith and all his staff work as a very tight knit team. We loved every minute of our stay!

There were absolutely no negatives in staying at the Blue Bell.

Our hostess Jackie was just wonderful, happy, bubbly, cheerful and couldn't do enough for us. She does the place proud. No wonder she was nominated for host of the year competition! She made sure everything was satisfactory and always gave service with a smile, The food was delicious, fresh, cooked to perfection. We had evening meal and it was amazing. Breakfast was exceptional. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. Room was huge, quality beds, bedding, towels etc. Plenty tea/coffee in room and biscuits were a nice touch. Couldn't find a single fault.

Nothing was to our dislike. We would recommend and definitely return if in the area again.

The room was good. We slept comfortably and loved that we could sleep somewhere quiet with an open window. Our dinner was nice but the breakfast was great. We both fancied a cooked breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of the ingredients. The fish I had the previous evening was also delicious.

The younger, tall blond waitress seemed to be a bit lost or confused at times when we were having dinner.

Great value real pub accommodation. plenty of free off road parking available, good greeting from polite, professional staff. Clean well presented room. Very good food (I had the Sea Bass and will have it again when I return!!). I had to leave early morning before breakfast - bar staff made sure I got a BLT sandwich the evening before - probably the best BLT sandwich I have ever eaten - it lasted me all day!! I have passed this pub in numerous occasions over the years and can’t understand why I haven’t stayed here before - a really welcoming atmosphere. A very comfortable stay !!

Not an issue for me - just be aware that the single room is very small - BUT- well presented and recently refurbished making best possible use of the space available!

Well the room is small but that isn't a problem, I've stayed in smaller. Decent shower, comfy bed. Kettle and telly, what more do you want. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Can't comment on the food as I fell asleep and didn't wake till morning. all in all a decent solo stop over. Oh and there are a couple of castles and battle fields very near.

Nothing really, everything was as it should be.

We had a superb stay at the Blue Bell. The staff were friendly and so accommodating. It was my fiancé’s birthday and it was the perfect spot to celebrate with family. The rooms were large, well decorated and comfortable and the food was really good: both a delicious dinner and a huge hearty cooked breakfast in the morning . A stones through from the Flodden battlefield and despite being on the A697 you wouldn’t realise as it was lovely and peaceful. Will definitely stay again and will look to stop off for food again also next time I’m heading from Newcastle to Edinburgh.
