Blanch House

a really quirky little bold-hole, snuggled close to the beach but away from the busy part of town, the staff were very friendly and helpful, very comfortable beds and lovely shower gel and shampoo, the homemade biscuits are a special finishing touch.

was only let down by the poor breakfast, little choice and and quality we lower than expected after enjoying the homemade biscuits which were free in the room, with a little more thought on quality and range of choice at breakfast this little hotel would go down as one of my favourite costal getaways

Great location, lovely staff and the rooms were clean with a well thought out welcome (staff show you to the room and nice fresh baked biscuits). Liked the themed rooms too. Really enjoyed the breakfast, even though it's basic (cereal or bread items) it's more than enough to fill you up to start the day and the fresh baked croissants and pan au chocolat are a great addition.

My room (Alice), backed onto the beer garden of a local pub, so the noise went on reasonably late but seemed to calm down before midnight. I was there during the week so probably less people, not sure what it would be like on the weekend or if the hotel has an agreement with the pub to ask people to move inside at a reasonable hour. Bring earplugs! Worked ok for me using those.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Hotel is nestled in a quiet area, yet conveniently close to the beach and vibrant attractions, striking the perfect balance between relaxation and exploration. The top-notch service provided by the friendly and helpful staff made my stay truly enjoyable, offering great local recommendations and assistance whenever needed. The two-minute walk to the beach was a highlight, and the hotel's location made it easy to explore nearby shops, cafes, and restaurants, adding to the overall convenience of my wonderful stay. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with excellent service, a prime location, and a comfortable setting, this hotel is the perfect choice. My time here was memorable, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Staff is very friendly and super helpful. Helped us to carry luggage up and down, recommended places to eat, and even allowed me to use their breakfast room to have a work meeting even though it was my our check out time. Rooms are very tastefully designed. very nice hotel! And mind you - apparently it has a no children policy. Smth we didn’t notice, but were allowed to stay anyway with a child.

The only small comment I would make is that the thick polyester duvets need scaling down for the summer. I couldn’t really sleep well because I was sweating all night, even though we had the windows open and it wasn’t even that hot outside. But that can be easily fixed. Breakfast was ok - continental and not buffet. So no eggs.

99% was very good,the lady who was on the morning of checkout was very apologetic about shower situation and gave us a complimentary drink,which was a nice gesture. Lady who greeted us upon check in was very friendly and hospitable. Continental breakfast was good and was not as I had read in reviews. Could have as much as liked and not limited to 3 choices of the menu. Situated very nicely just of the seafront,plenty of bars and cafes in the neighbourhood. Kettle in cupboard where clothes to.hang is not appropriate. Understand only taken the place over recently,so needs finer points by new owner Overall a good stay!

The shower taking a long time to get to.any decent temperature and that was just bearable,the shower shutting down whilst I was in it. TV needs sorting out etc

Amazingly lovely staff,all so friendly and welcoming, when they heard it was my birthday they gave me and my wife a complimentary drink .Helped organise a taxi for us.We will definitely always stay here on our Brighton trips.Although not an English Breakfast the continental was exellent and plentiful,and again staff very lovely

Carpet in hallway needs updating, very old and unwelcoming, not the staffs fault though.T.V signal needs attention, I know we're not going there for that,but couldn't even get BBC 1 or 2.The fan in the room very noisy .

location is great; so handy to the sea front and restaurants. Staff was extremely welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. Good continental breakfast also with ham and cheese, but no eggs or hot items

Television didn’t work for 2 out of 3 nights. It was difficult to get warm/hot water in the shower and sink. Had to turn on the shower for 5 minutes to get hot water and then sink water would get hot as well. Waste of water. All rooms are up flights of stairs, which could be a problem for some folks. Only one electric outlet on one side of the bed.

We only had breakfast on the second day. We were running Brighton 10K on the Sunday so need to leave before breakfast started. Just a suggestion that maybe put on breakfast early that day for the runners. Part from that there was a great selection to choose from and it was delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Lots of personal touches. Homemade biscuits in the room, they were delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Not the hotels fault but it can be noisy at the back of the hotel as there is a pub garden but at 11pm the noisy stops.

Comfortable and tastefully decorated hotel moments away from the seafront with clean rooms and crisp linen. Lots of little touches too like complimentary robes, fresh filtered bottles of water for your room and freshly baked croissants for breakfast. Most outstanding however were the lovely friendly and knowledgeable staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. I stay in hotels a lot and rarely write reviews but Blanch House provided one of my most pleasant stays ever.

Kerry the host was excellent and we had a lovely welcome. The Sakura room was good, although it overlooked the local pub, this wasn't an issue. Bath and shower were great too. Very near the coast and only 10 mins or so from Brighton itself. Lots of buses if required to get you in and out as required. A real gem of a hotel with recommendations by Kerry for local restaurants which were excellent. A great stay overall.

The breakfast was great, it was continental which we knew before arrival which was fine with us - only small criticism is that once you order your selection, everything then comes at once - and things like warm croissants and toast are then not so warm etc by the time you get to them after cereal etc. With social distancing timeslots for breakfast - the person on duty wasn't stretched and could have easily staggered the selections. Also - there is a lovely lounge area with bar - but prices are steep so we were put off as could get a drink cheaper in Brighton. Our final night I decided to go down to have one at 9:30pm it was locked up which was a shame so ended up going out again.
