The Tavern Bed and Breakfast0

I was pleasantly surprised by how large our room was. It was very spacious. It was clean and everything smelled fresh. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was a great little selection of cereals, toast, fruits etc. I thought that this place was great value for money. I enjoyed our little stay here.

Obviously this can't be helped at all, but shared toilets and showers. It won't stop us staying again and if there were bathrooms in the rooms then it would take away from the room size. Just a little inconvenient especially with kids needing the loo in the night. But like I say, can't be helped.

The breakfast was great - good selection - the fresh fruit in the fridge (strawberries raspberries and grapes) was an unexpected bonus! My bed was comfy and the room spacious and clean. The shared bathroom facilities were also clean, with 2 wc & 2 showers.

The large window did not have net curtains, just blackout curtains so for privacy in the day I had to draw the curtains but the lighting in the room was not very good. Perhaps a lamp on the desk as well as a bedside lamp would be useful .. also, the “wardrobe” was in semidarkness. Everything else was good.

Really enjoyed my few days at the B&B. The bed was so comfy, nice airy room, everything we needed to hand. breakfast well stocked up each day and facilities cleaned daily. The owner was very lovely, and his two very well-behaved dogs were awesome. The best thing is its very dog friendly. Our two dogs stayed with us too. This B&B is great value for the cost. Yiu share the facilities, e.g., showers and toilets but that was not a problem at all. They were always left clean and tidy. The bonus is kitchen area with sink, fridge, microwave and toaster. I really liked being able to get breakfast in my own time and be able to heat up meals as well. I would definitely stay again.

The owner took us to our room which was large and had a kettle and tea coffee etc. It even had a jar of chocolate celebrations. The room was lovely and warm and had a wardrobe, table and bed side cabinets with a lamp. We were allowed to bring our dogs and they were welcomed to. There was a breakfast bar with a variety of cereals, lots of fresh fruit and nuts and cereal bars and tea and coffee. The showers and toilets were clean. All staff were pleasant and friendly. We also were able to access the WiFi facilities.

The owner made sure the room was heated before we arrived. The small touches of chocolates in our room and ample fruit in the breakfast area. The dogs being made welcome and being able to meet the owners dogs.

Excellent value for money stay, clean and dog friendly. Generous serve-yourself breakfast. Congrats to the owner, Aiden, for offering such great value for money in these inflationary times. Also, during my stay, there were a few big pop concerts in Newcastle, which resulted in price-gouging tactics by the chain hotels, even as far away as here in Blyth. But well done to Aiden for keeping his prices reasonable - small businesses like this deserve to be rewarded all year round for not exploiting the tourist trade!

The room was of a good size with a wardrobe, drawers and desk and double bed. Shared bathroom/shower. There was a choice of four cereals, bread or crumpets to toast, croissants, fresh fruit and berries and yoguht juice and cereal bars. The room was tidy and comfortable and our dogs were made welcome to. Staff are friendly and polite.

Having to enter via fire escape/stairs. To our knowledge this is only temporary whilst work being completed to entrance.

As we travelled for work so stayed only for a night We met Aiden who was helpful and warm and welcoming Room with proper furniture was spacious and clean and with good coffee tray Shared toilet and shower(which was separate) was clean Location is good

Our first time in a kind of B and B where shower and toilet was in sharing basis which wasn't comfortable for us personally As they are renovating the ground floor so the restaurant and front entrance was closed.. The self served very basic breakfast was with very limited options and tiny kitchen with fridge and some basic cutlery with no staff around Room had a smell of newly painted walls Bed and pillows were not so clean But after their renovation things will be good

Very Comfortable room. Amazing breakfast. Lots of Fruit yakult, Cereal, toast etc etc.TV. Etc Biscuits and sweets in room with tea and coffee making stuff. Easy check in. Pleasant Owner met me plus carried my bags up the stairs. Secure too.with key phob. Although building going on in front it didn't disrupt or affect where I stayed. Entrance round back up easy fire escape at moment . Back yard is secure with room for bikes too. Quiet. Pleasant staff in morning cleaning g rooms. Will stay again.

I liked the lack of faff. I was let in by I assume the landlord, he walked me to my room pointing out facilities on the way, he handed me my key and left me to get on with it. Breakfast was just there to help yourself and you dropped your key in to a box when you left. No faff. Excellent.

TV remote needed a bit of fiddling to get it to work. Could do with a bit more noise insulation. TV's from other rooms and other guests moving around was a bit annoying.

Room lovely and spacious, self serve continental breakfast good, cereals, loads of fruit, yoghurts, bread, spreads, small kitchenette available. Room, showers and toilets clean. Very quiet and peaceful. No dedicated parking but lots of free on street parking directly outside. Would definitely stay here again.
