Holiday Inn Express Derby Pride Park, an IHG Hotel

We have stayed here a few times for Download Festival as the location for the train and festival buses is excellent. The staff are so nice and friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel was very quiet at night. Full of festival people which created a good friendly atmosphere at breakfast and at the bar later. The breakfast is enough, a little more variation would be nice, however we were full each day when heading out. This hotel met our requirements for this trip and we will stay again. There are other restaurants close by for eating out and it is not too far to walk into Derby city centre, about 20 mins.

I was at the hotel with around 20 members of my family for my cousins wedding and we all experienced the following. The corridors on the 2nd and 3rd floor stunk of dog from the evening of the 11th till I left on the morning of the 13th. This was a very unpleasant smell as when we first avvrived the corridors smell noticeably nice and clean but then it just smelt of dog which if you know what I mean is not a pleasant smell. Very large pitbull type dogs where also spotted several times on the 2nd and 3rd floor corridors with other guests which we believe was the reason for this which then unfortunately makes the place feel dirty as it smelt in the corridors.

Everything went well at hotel Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented Room nice and clean an spacious Bed nice and comfortable Room temperature good Water in bathroom nice and hot and shower worked well

We were unfortunately woken up at 12pm by a fire alarm that was canceled after a while but no explanation. From October there has been a car parking charge of £5.00 per day put in that I think should be free for guests, as it has been in the past. This also takes extra time when booking in at reception. This may force us to look towards Premier Inn as their parking is free.

Very comfy beds, all staff friendly and professional, good (free) breakfast. Liked having free parking and it's a good location near to a couple of eateries. Having an iron and board in the room very handy. Small things like decaff coffee in the room. Good shower. Appreciated the proper WiFi included as standard.

Lack of proper heating. Hate the air con which might be useful in a heatwave but seems impossible to set to give out consistent warmth now it is getting cooler. It puts us off staying here in cold weather which is a shame as apart from that this is the best of all the local similar hotels. Also disliked having an interconnecting door as the noise travelled from the room next door. Maybe don't book people in both sides unless they are going to use it?

The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I enjoyed breakfast and was glad that they had vegetarian sausages available upon request. The breakfast selection was fantastic. The television in the room was small but for a short stay that is okay. I prefer larger televisions due to my poor eyesight but I can't really complain about the size of the television.

The Staff were Brilliant, answered all my questions when I popped in, very helpful to my friends who came from a far an new to the area, well impressed, how they were looked after, location was brilliant near Train Station & Town Centre Room was very nice, food was excellent Friends loved it looking forward to next year Thank You x

such a lovely, clean hotel with excellent friendly staff. we got back in at 11pm and we’re pleasantly surprised to find the bar still open serving, so we had another drink before bed. very relaxed vibe.

Only downside, which is minor… Didn’t really enjoy breakfast. Both the scrambled egg and beans parts were almost empty, and sausages weren’t too nice. would have liked a fried egg. That said, croissants were lovely, and there was good choice overall, and it wouldn’t put me off another visit.

The bed was immaculate and I noticed the cleaners strip the whole bed linen including the quilt and the pillows are washed and changed. A little disappointed that we were not able to have vegetarian breakfast/sausages as some equipment broke.We spent two nights at another hotel which was a lot cheaper and the breakfast was a lot better - more choices. The location was good for our appointment the following day.

Bit disappointed that there wasn't more choice on the menu or a restaurant - just bar food. There was a nasty smell coming from the face basin sink.The room was very clean.

Although the evening kitchen staff were clearly short staffed, the young lady serving everyone was so polite and had a smile on even though she must of been very stressed. The room was so clean, and very comfy. We had friends staying in other hotels near by and they were disappointed with their facilities, so we soon were able to recommend this as a stay next visit

Booking.com ramped up the price by £15 when I had to cancel accommodation for 4 people to 2.

Very clean hotel and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. Thank you to them for for making the visit pleasant. Good breakfast items (apart from drinks). Reception supplied toothbrushes and extra toiletries as required. Iron and board in every room.

Family rooms were cramped, mattresses were not very comfortable. Bathrooms were dated and shower pressure wasn’t the best. Breakfast coffee was disappointing, seemed to be instant.
