Great location near park, Uni and town centre. Very stylish decoration in a beautiful georgian traditional building. I had a separate spacious bathroom just for myself although in a cheap single room. Great restaurant and bar. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Very clean

Couldn't catch wifi signal from my room but i guess that's because i was at the very edge of the bulding. Double glazing could be better. A second layer was added to an old existing single glaze but that wasn't sealed and when on the street side it's very loud as very busy road with speeding cars. I was on a single room perhaps double glazing is better in double rooms

Beautiful Georgian building with oak-panelled rooms filled with antique furniture, paintings and ornaments make it a really charming and interesting place to stay. Rooms are simple but comfortable and great value. Breakfast is fantastic. We ate in the bar and the food was good. BIG portions. Great location. Highly recommended for a shorst stay in Deby especially for the University. What really made a difference was the freindliness of the staff. Free parking at the back if you arrive by car. Would definitely stay again

Nothing particularly comes to mind

We loved The Georgian Hotel. The character of the building was phenomenal. Wood panelled and so full of oddities and curiosities. The four poster bed was cool to experience and the attached pub was super cool, although we didn't get a chance to try it out this time, mores the pity. The family that run it are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was great and I honestly just really enjoyed it. If you're expecting high quality finish, then you should manage your expectations here. This is a very old building with very old furnishing and it is reasonably priced, so bear that in mind. But if you go in wanting a comfortable, clean, fun, interesting and friendly place to stay, you won't be disappointed! I would certainly stay again if I ever visit Derby.

I didn't really dislike anything.

we always stay here when in Derby and feel very comfortable, Always been very clean and well maintained. Good rapport in bar and restaurant. reception always well mannered and polite.

the carpet in the room number 8 was badly stained and dirty, i had the feeling that someone had forgotten to clean it, very unusual here. room was tiny. We have stayed here numerous times and been completely satisfied. No bath this time, May be our own fault for not checking the details

Was breakfast on offer? We weren't aware. The building was old and beautiful. The furniture was in keeping with the old style. The bed was comfy and shower was spacious. Easy parking (even with charging for our rented EV)

I missed having soap and shampoo in the shower. But could nip to a small, local Sainsbury to buy some. And I would have liked a hairdryer in our room (maybe I just didn't find it?) I don't drink tea or coffee so would have really appreciated a hot chocolate offer with the kettle.

This is an honest and down to earth accommodation. Booking a four-poster bed in a Georgian property did make me wonder if it was going to be a bit pretentious... it wasn't for a moment. Accepted at face-value from the moment we entered... I would send everybody I know to stay here (because I don't have friends who are too far up their own...).

I can't really think of anything. Oh, maybe the traffic noise on the road outside... we still slept like logs?

We stayed as we hired a room for a party. The room(s) we hired were just wonderful. We had the run of 4 interconnecting rooms all splendidly furnished and decorated with period ornaments and artefacts. The buffet spread was excellent and actually too much. We ordered a buffet for 20 people to cater for approx 30 who turned up and there was plenty left. The catering and bar staff couldn't do enough to help us.

Only that the bed was a bit bouncy, but it didn't matter really.

The room, and in fact the entire hotel, was of dark wood and plush Georgian seating. It was of days gone by and absolutely delightful. I would like to return some time and have recommended it to the show where I was judging. Due to the intense heat outside, they had thoughtfully provided an electric fan.

The noise level of music was somewhat overpowering in the bar, but thankfully couldn't be heard in my room. It may be that I'm just grumpy!

A real surprise to find such an independent traditional inn with such an intriguing and very well curated antique decor combined with boutique hotel touches at such a good price. Premises like this feel very rare now in a chain hotel world. The room was spacious enough yet cosy and a lovely mix of antique furniture and good bed linen with a really good shower and bathroom. Easy reach of the city centre.

Due to the type of old building this is I assume, it was a little colder than I would have liked in January.

Close to the town centre on a main arterial route served by public transport. The building and interior are grand, quirky and full of interesting furnishings. Staff are very friendly and the room I stayed in was well equipped clean and tidy. The four poster bed was a surprising feature and very comfortable. The food options in the evening were limited at the time of my stay due to staff absence but on the Sunday evening I sampled the wonderful pizza provider situated on the premises and the bar is very reasonably priced. I sampled breakfast one of the mornings (additional £9.50) which was incredible quality. The bacon was thick and gorgeous, the eggs perfect, the full English in full was top notch. Toast, cereals and juice was also provided with a pot of tea but I couldn't finish it all! I didn't sample any other food or facilities whilst staying, worth noting there is a pub quiz on a Thursday evening (all but 1 table in the bar was reserved by 6pm) and they do show live sports when on (ie premier league over the weekend) They offer very competitive room rates, in a great location for a 15 minute walk into Derby city centre. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff I had the pleasure of dealing with. I would recommend 100% and love to have the opportunity to return.

After plans changed I booked again for more nights in the same week. Initially I was placed in a different room, at the far end of the hotel. Unfortunately this didn't have a wifi connection which could have proved a problem for the three nights stay. However they were more than happy to switch me back to my original room, which I then locked myself out of by accident, making it an interesting first impression for all!
