We stayed at the Penthouse, and it was fantastic! Beautiful light from the skylight (there’s a blackout shade for darkening the room), a lovely view of the water; a generous amount of space; modern, tasteful appointments; great shower pressure. A refreshing modern change after a week of rustic B&B stays.

Finding street parking required a drive around the block, but this wasn’t detrimental to our overall experience

The communication from the host prior to our stay was fantastic. Everything was made very clear with regard to location, checking in etc. Parking was right outside the property. Once inside we were greeted by a beautiful hallway and fabulous staircase leading up to our floor. The studio apartment was superb. Tastefully decorated to a very high standard. The owners have done an amazing job, just wow! Very hi-tech but if you're not a techy person, it can all be over-rided and novice friendly ( so I coped haha ). The owner lives onsite and he knocked to say hello and introduce himself which was a nice touch. A great stay, would highly recommend 👌

Not really a dislike but I was a bit put off by all the technology, Alexa type stuff at first, but that's because I'm useless and a bit of a technophobe. Thankfully my husband works in that area so was in his element. Soon discovered you don't have to use all the gimmicks if you don't want so don't let it put you off. The house was stunning but it is near the student area of Dundee and a bit of a walk into the centre, but nothing a taxi won't solve if you don't fancy a drive or walk! Not an issue for us, but be mindful there are steps up to the property and no lift inside to the upper floors.

The proprietor was readily available and helpful with all questions. As I was travelling for work, I very much enjoyed the fact that there was a desk in the room, and it had enough space to work at, so that I didn't have to try to find another place to work. The view outside the window was also beautiful, looking right over the Tay, and the wonderfully bizarre decor was quite fun to look at and gave the place quirky character. I also enjoyed how clean the place was and how evidently it was well kept and cared for, as well as the nearby bus route and easy walking distance to the city. It was very sweet of the owners to put a snack and a local cake in the room along with coffee and tea as well.

The technology in the room can feel a little daunting if one is not used to using it. For instance, not everyone is comfortable using a virtual concierge, and remote control curtains can be confusing. But these are minor issues and the virtual concierge can be turned off if one does not want to use it.

This was a really lovely place to stay in. An old Georgian mansion that has been sympathetically restored with absolutely huge rooms that provided plenty of space for our 3 night stay. Check in was easy, via a code sent to our email. Some parking on site at the back but plenty of street parking around and that was what we preferred as we could be closer to the entrance. Room was tastefully decorated, has all the mod cons inc fridge, microwave, sink, small induction hot plate, crockery & cutlery etc Bathroom is small but the shower itself is very big with plenty of hot water. Wifi was good. Walked down to a popular Italian restaurant one night (Don Michele - 500m) and a leisurely stroll to a popular Indian restaurant closer to the centre another night (Rishi’s - 1.5km).

I have two minor niggles - our room was near the front door and we often heard people coming and going with some door slams and loud conversation in the hall. A sign reminding guests that they are near other rooms may help to remind guests to be polite and quiet. The other was the room above us has people walking about very early in the morning in hard shoes on the wooden floor. We spoke with the manager, who did apologise but the next day, the new guests made quite a lot of noise in the evening and early the next morning. Not a major drama but some underfloor cushioning would make a big difference to those in the rooms below. For the price paid, I was hoping for at least one sleep in!

The cottage at the Clarendon was an excellent place to stay. Although you didn't meet any staff at the cottage, you could talk to Alexa who made things simple by just asking any questions you had, like saying that you had just checked in/out, or hoe to work the stove, or where was best to have something to eat, or any place of interest you'd like to visit. The cottage had everything you needed, clean towels, comfy bed, kettle, tea/coffee, bottles of water, cakes/biscuits, hairdryer. 2 ensuite bedrooms with plenty enough towels and if you needed anymore towels you just ask alexa and they would be delivered to you. The cottage was close to the city centre and was only minutes away by car. I'd highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a comfy well equipped place to stay within dundee City. The Clarendon Hotel is attached to the cottage, you only have a minutes walk to be at the entrance to the Clarendon.

Everything you'd expect from a good quality hotel, with the added bonus of having the option of cooking your own meal if that's what you wanted to do.

The accommodation was in a beautiful building which had been very tastefully restored. The decor and styling of the rooms and the communal areas was just gorgeous- very glamorous and stylish. The rooms, with their high ceilings and huge windows, were very airy and comfortable. Our rooms had a fabulous view too. There was milk, biscuits and Dundee cake to welcome you, which is a friendly wee touch. As we arrived we met the owner who was charming and who was happy to recommend places to eat and things to do. I have already recommended this wonderful property to other friends and will definitely return there myself.

It is a bit out of town which some people might not like but that suited us fine. We walked along the waterfront and it took about 20 minutes to get into the centre of Dundee - and that was at leisurely pace.

We had a very large room with a kitchette and lovelý ensuite and a dinng table set for two. The room had modern facilities controlled by Alexa on an installed iPad in the room - great fun. The bed was large and very comfortable and the room quiet at night, with a view across the Firth of Tay. Good free wifi. The check-in is by code sent by SMS the day before, which worked very well, though the owner was actually on site when we arrived and greeted us warmly.

There is very limited on-site parking. We had no trouble getting parking on the street at the front, but it could involve a bit of a walk if it was busier. The is no breakfast available, but a good kitchen to cook your own.

The location of the property is good, not incredibly central but a pretty straightforward walk from the city centre, felt quite safe walking home in the later hours too. It's very modern and comfortable, the Alexa concierge was an unexpected extra. The check in/check out was very smooth and simple and I liked that I didn't have to wait around for people. There was tea, coffee and even some Dundee cake in the room for me, which was great. Overall a great spot for one night or longer stay, would 100% recommend.

No A/C, which is not a massive problem for Scotland, but it was a really hot night. The window was quite difficult to lift up and down for fresh air.

Kenny, our host, was terrific! He came out to introduce himself and see if everything was to our liking. He gave some great tips on things to do in the area and restaurant suggestions. I left a ring in the room when we left. Kenny contacted us immediately and is going to mail it to us from UK to USA - what a guy! Room was big, as was the bed. Beautiful view of the water from our room, close to restaurants, great parking, easy access to the apartment. Kenny was able to put the two couples in our party right across the hall from each other! Great wifi in the room and Alexa operated everything! It was like having our own personal butler

The self-catering flat was beautifully decorated and well equipped. The owners and staff are very friendly and they met all of my requests promptly. The location is beside a bus stop with a frequent service into the city centre.

I cannot find fault with anything about The Clarendon. The only suggestion which I made is that it would be good to leave maps of Dundee for visitors.
